Before I worked on replacing the inlet valve, I thought I would watch 1 more video on fixing my dishwasher that won’t fill. Thank you for posting this video. I’m writing this comment as my dishwasher is filling and working perfectly. Thanks again,
Thanks for the directions. I had checked the water valve and it was closed both without power and with 120 volts. I thought that it must be bad, so I both a new one and installed it and the same thing it wouldn’t fill. That’s when I checked further on RUclips and found your video. I put the gallon, ( actually mine took a good gallon and a half) started it up and it worked. I felt the valve and after running a bit it pumped water out and the valve opened. I put the old valve back in and it worked. I wish that I would have watched your video first it would have saved me money and a week’s worth of hand washing. Thanks again
Really glad you got it sorted. If you remember to subscribe to the channel, then you will always be up-to-date with all my videos. please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
I watched dozens of videos, this was the only one that talked about troubleshooting the problem first. I did put in hot water and it actually fixed the problem (clogged inlet valve). THANKS BUD!!
Thank you SO MUCH! I made an appointment with a service guy and he will be charging $80 just to come check out the problem. Well, I decided to trouble-shoot following your suggestions, and it appears the machine works now. Amazing! I will be calling the service guy to cancel the appointment.
This is one of the most interesting fixit videos I have ever watched. Whilst my dishwasher is different in layout and design I was easily able to apply the theory demonstrated in this video to fixing the problem. Thank you for your concise, easily understood explanation of things.
Bravo! No nonsensical b.s. !! Such a freaking RELIEF!! to find a diy/ repair/trouble shooting video that doesn't involve having to endure irrelevant information or any other time consuming projection. THANK YOU!
Thanks a lot, I have a Fagor Dishwasher similar to the model shown in your tutorial, it was not filling properly, I carried out the cleaning process as shown by you, and now it is working fine.
Thanks for the video. My dishwasher is 35 years old but I will have a look and see why it wont start. it still owes me!!! Philips 200SL out of Germany used in Australia.

I was repairing an aeg 40860 and had a leaking overflow on the labyrinth, it was a bit dirty and cleaned it. 0 result.... The black filling hose from the labyrinth to the central cup inside the machine had not much but a bit of dirt on the walls and caused the problem..... Also noticed the pressure switch which you pointed out..... Good video.....
Looking at this machine versus my GE dishwasher is amazing. The GE is so much more straightforward.too many pressure switches and components on this machine. Multiple filling pressure bowls etc. For example, the GE you open a water valve for a given amount of time. You have a simple flood/float switch to cut it off if it has too much flow during that fixed amount of time. This machine is so much more complicated. So many more tubes besides the main drain and recycle main tubes like the GE. Nuts I think. This definitely seems to be over engineered IMHO. Nice video. Great job

Thanks for this video. I managed to follow your instructions to have a good nose and see what's going on, I didn't need to replace the inlet valve so maybe just disconnecting and reconnecting was all that was needed. Thankyou so much. Top video.
My Siemens IQ100 initially showed an E15 fault with the lit tap logo. Couldn't find out much about that online except someone said to tilt the machine forward. I did that and it tripped the RCCD on the consumer unit! After following a couple of your videos I learnt how to access the base of the machine and found water sat in the bottom which had lifted the tray float valve and shut off the electrics. After carefully mopping that all out with lots of kitchen roll I ran the quick programme and it all worked. That said, it seems there's a load of gunge/fat at the top of the dirty water end of the fixed panel piping which I think may be inhibiting flow and correct function of that high level float valve (I think that's what it is?). Not sure how to access and clean that so will run a couple of cleaners through the machine and hope for the best. Thanks for making the video. I could do with another on cleaning out that panel though - the only one on RUclips is in Russian :)

Hi there, l have a consrtucta dishwasher that would not fill. just sounded like sucking äir or something. The first puzzling thing, on this model there is no float inside to check. complete mystery. First, l took apart the connection , where the water connects and on this version, there is some sort of plastic rectangular box, where the water connects . Is this the float? anyhow unscrewed it and pulled out little filter and cleaned it. It was not that dirty and was not the problem. Because when l reconnected it, the same problem, like it was sucking air instead of filling with water.l also took all plumbing apart under sink and checked all hoses. What l noticed inside where you take out the two filters on the bottom of dishwasher and l turned it back on to fill. There was a spray of water coming through to that little filter area, where the filter sits, but it was not filling. And so l left it for 24 hours and was ready to pull out and take apart and look at the Valve etc. So today l just pulled out the spray things that spin around and checked them . No blockages from what l could see. flushed water through them. restarted and hey presto. It started to fill normally. So now l am confused to what was going on. If there was a blockage in the piping going into the machine underneath to that valve or whatever was the case ? everything is normal again. So l am dumbfounded to where the problem was and how it is back to normal again. What L really want to know is your guessing to what was going on, and did l really do anything to help and why do you think all is normal again. Also, where is the float, is it that plastic thing on the connection hose ? Does the water only fill up in the filter area on this model ? mistified really. Thanks.
Great video but I still need help. My dishwasher when new was not filling with water and I did not realize it. I rinse my dishes very well before loading the dishwasher which makes them look clean. My dishwasher would start up and go through all the cycle and when done, it was hot inside. So, I thought everything was working fine. We don't go through a lot of dishes here so it's like once a week we run the dishwasher and we handwash a lot of dishes. I finally realized that water was not going into the dishwasher every time. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I have to do the trick method with putting in water manually every time the dishwasher is supposed to fill with water throughout the cycle which is several times. I have to know when that is to time it just right. I have finally figured out that if I turn on the water in the sink that the dishwasher is connected to immediately when it is time for the dishwasher to fill that it fills on its own. I can turn that water off in the sink as soon as it starts filling and it continues to fill. I have to do this every time when it's time for the dishwasher to fill. There is nothing stuck anywhere that would be making this happen. It's been happening since the dishwasher was first used when it was new and never used prior. Do you know what is making this happen and what I can do to correct it?
Thank you. I had a problem with my now obsolete Cuisine dishwasher but couldn't access the rear as it is built in on legs and I couldn't move it without a lot of trouble. However as a last resort, having watched your vid. I checked the filter in the base of the machine and discovered a loose plastic part which I re-inserted and bingo! it's now working again. I wonder how much the plumber would have charged......
Magic Chef DU4500B is FIXED! I have been on A LOT OF VIDEOS and YOUR video cost me ZERO in parts and repairs! Proper diagnosis is EVERYTHING. In health care we say, "Don't guess, TEST!" I thought for sure it was a bad inlet valve and it didn't look like it was very easy to remove without disrupting things bc mine is connected to a tiny copper tube that has no threading in a standard threaded (garden hose looking connector) mine looks a bit corroded but no leaks AT ALL. 1. Poured the water in the bottom as you instructed and I put it on and it started washing in the wash cycle! The upper and lower arms were perfectly functional! Ok... 2. I can't unscrew anything to remove the float to clean it from the inside of the machine. But as I reached under it to check for a nut-style bolt to put a wrench on... it was COVERED IN what felt like peat moss! Holy Yuck Batman! Went up under it and cleared it out with a paper towel and set the machine to the beginning of the SHORT cycle to see if it would fill on it's own. It immediately started filling up as normal! What a blessing! Thank you so much. I rarely SUBSCRIBE to channels but you earned a big thumbs up and a Subscribe! I will be sharing your channel with everyone I know. 🌞😁🙏
I have a cookolgy table top dishwasher that shows E1 error, after fill up water for one minute, the water flow out from the pipe. Will you please advise me if I can fixed it myself. Thanks
I have a Teka dishwasher, but it has stopped water inlet to the bottom arm. the top one works ok & it drains away water fine. I have checked the arm but it si not bolcked, it is the supply of water instead. please can you give me any ideas. thanks Kev.
In 5 years since new my aeg dishwasher has now 3 times had heater needed replacing. Is this a known fault ? I only use it around 3 or 4 times a week. I know that at least once the thermostat has been replaced in case this caused early failure of heater. Any comments or advice please. Thanks.
Without being able to pull the workshop manual for the Pacific model it is very hard for me to tell you about any common problems that I come across if it is a tubular heater I have seen these go on many occasions
