Great video. Very accurate and informative. The level of detail is unmatched ! I only wish that I saw this one first as I ripped out the dishwasher thinking that I needed to replace the heating element. My thermistor was bad, and because of that, the float was gunked up. Can't give it enough thumbs up! 👍👍👍
Thank you. Your video was very informative. Mine was very dirty. Cleaned it good to where it moved but ended up having to do it a second time. This time leaving it in a cup of hot water , but leaving the connector out of the water and sprayed dawn powerscrub in it shake and repeat a few times to break up and sludge or grease. Worked perfect after. Thanks a ton.
Glad to hear that with your persistence in cleaning the flood sensor that you saved yourself some money. Glad to hear that you got it fixed. Have a great day!
Great video! So many videos show how to replace these... but what if you want to know if the part is actually broken first??? Your video is the answer. Thank you! For me, pins 1 and 7 were open circuit no matter where the float ball was so I knew it was bad thanks to you.
Hi Dave, nice to hear from you! And hoping that you and your family are doing well. With all modern appliances such as stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators which usually all have some type of microcontroller, these items can all help in identifying a problem. Usually, a blinking LED with some specific counts will indicate a specific problem or there may be a numeric LED which would indicate a problem. With some of these appliances, one can enter a consumer error mode or a diagnostic error mode which is intended for a technician. On this model and other GE dishwasher models, it has both of these modes. Great question and have a SUPER GREAT DAY!
I had similar problems with a seamins DW. The next earlier model had a recall for setting fire to the countertop 😮😮😮. I also found the same problem with mine... An overworked relay that boosts temp of inlet water due to subpar temp of same... Hard to miss the burned out relay😅😅😅😅😅
The older appliances were much better in longevity and were much better machines. And that's why the wife and I are still using a washer and dryer that's about 25 years old. Thanks for the comment!
I'm so baffled with my dishwasher issue it's driving me mad...I almost always can fix anything or any appliances that needs fixing or stops working, but this supposedly "smart" dishwasher is a headache. It's a ge portable dishwasher idk same size all others I've ever had definitely doesn't seem portable but regardless..my dishwasher starts up all normal and goes for a minute even dispenses the soap pod thing, it even heats up but it is not washing and I've been troubleshooting for a month so I've tried dang near everything at this point.
Take a look at how to get into the service or diagnostic mode for your dishwasher. You can take a look on RUclips and I'm sure that you're find out how to do it. Once it flags a code, you can start there with your troubleshooting. Have a great day!
@@e.v.a.l.s Ah, sorry for the confusion! I've been busy modeling up the kitchen in 3D and creating working plans for it as I plan to do all of the work myself. And it wasn't really anything of interest to film until now. Have a super great day!

Glad to hear that you like the videos! Have a great evening!
Mighty fine troubleshooting, Terry! Do these modern units have diagnostic codes that you can use to identify the problem area?
Not sure about dishwashers but our Samsung washing machine has a two page list of trouble codes which would be displayed on the digital readout.

Yes, I subscribe to the same theory...I just. hope all of my antiques don't decide
to die at the same time and the parts store is still open😢😢😢😢
@@randyandersI think we're in good shape Randy and nothing to worry about. Those old appliances will probably outlive us both. 😊
