  • This is the second of three videos which I did showing how lack of water in your dishwasher basin can be a major problem when it comes to cleaning dishes - the symptom is the upper rack glasses and dishes don’t get cleaned at all. Check out my first video where I demonstrate how the basin is not filling completely. This video shows how the water inlet valve was restricted. The third video I will show is after the inlet valve has been replaced. Enjoy!

Just what I was looking for, thanks. I get crazy sediment in my house.

Watch all 3 videos to totally understand how the inlet valve affects the cleaning of dishes - especially in the upper rack.

That’s a crazy amount of sediment. I would really start looking into a new hot water heater

You’d be wrong then. I clean my water heater regularly more than just draining it like most people. This is due to my galvanized pipes - most are
50 years old plus. I really need PEX that would probably solve most of the problems.

@@condor5635 I live in an area that is considered to have the best tap water in the world. It’s so good it’s not uncommon to WW2 era water heaters. Our tap water tastes better than most bottled water. When I start to see problems like this though the water heater or at least the sacrificial anode is usually on its way out.
Thank you for the video, I have the exact same dishwasher with the exact same problem and I was able to clean out the water fill valve and put it back together without it leaking and the dishwasher actually gets my dishes clean and it’s whisper quiet now. It wasn’t even this quiet when I bought the place 10 years ago. I did use some NSF Silicone grease when I put it back together to help the O-ring silicone and preserve its life.

@@notme22 glad it worked! I change my anode rod every few years. Mine is over 15 years old now going strong. It’s old school. Gas. Simple valve. None of this new fancy stuff.
