    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  3 года назад +1

      I totally understand! If you are a true beginner who's now just learning basics such as ~어/아요, past tense, ~(으)ㄹ 거예요, and simple sentences, this definitely is too difficult for you. The conjugation rules are the same as ~(으)ㄴ/는데 (however), so if you study that first, it may help a little bit. Give yourself a bit more time with learning Korean and come back to it later. There will be a day when you are a bit more advanced and notice this form in Korean's conversations, and when that moment comes, you will want to and be ready to learn this!

      I know the Korean letters and read some letters such as Shiut in all its states, Lyol in all its states, and irregular words. That's all I know in the Korean language.

That is where you start, so just keep up with your hard work and you will find yourself being so much better at it before you even know it! So i now know 3 ways to say assume something: (으)ㄹ 거예요, 것 같아 and 겠, what are the differences between these?

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  3 года назад

      ~(으)ㄹ 거예요: "probably", when it's not 100% certain
      ~것 같아요: it seems, it's like, I think... also used to soften your opinions
      ~겠~: "it must be..." mostly in reactions to a given situation
      Let's compare with 맛있다
      맛있을 거예요. It's probably delicious.
      - not 100%, but I think it's probably delicious. It sounds more certain than ~것 같아요 because you are choosing the ending for "probability"
      맛있을 것 같아요. I think it is/will be delicious.
      - Talking about your guess, it's just your guess rather than "probably", thus sounds softer and less certain the 맛있을 거예요.
      맛있겠어요! / 맛있겠다! "It looks delicious!"
      - You are looking a dish either in person or in the picture and reacting "it must be delicious!"
      Hope this helped! 도움이 됐으면 좋겠어요!

    Thank you for your time on making them~ I believe it helps a lot of learners, the same way it does to me (^_^)
    Just a (practical) observation: -것 같다 is definitely a common expression, which I see/hear a lot in videos.
    But I've noticed that Koreans barely say this expression fully.
    I hear a lot like: -거 앝아 or even -거 앝 (kind of muted)
    Does only hearing -거... is enough for you to understand what Korean wanna say?

I murmured on my own to see what you meant, and yes, people would know the murmured phrase is 것 같아 or 거 같아 even though 같아 part is almost pronounced like 앝아!!! It's because people know the ~(으)ㄴ/는/(으)ㄹ 것 같아(요) as a chunk. 😀

      알렉스 님, 감사합니다!!! 💜 I haven't made a video about the reasoning yet, but it's one of the popular questions and requests. I will make one in near future! For now, here are general differences:
      1. noun 때문에: because of N. = Comes after nouns, not verbs and adjectives
      코로나 때문에 아무 데도 못 가요. Because of COVID, I can't go anywhere.
      너 때문에 망했어. It's all ruined because of you.
      2. ~(으)니까: can come before a question, request, command, etc.
      코로나 심하니까 집에 있자. Because COVID is really bad, let's stay home.
      비 오니까 우산 갖고 가. Because it's raining, take the umbrella.
      3. ~아/어서: factual cause and effect = CANNOT be used for question, request, command, etc.
      서 comes from 그래서(therefore)
      코로나 심해서 집에 있었어요. COVID was severe/really bad, so I stayed home.
      네가(니가) 비밀 안 지켜서 망했어. You didn't keep the secret, so it's all ruined.

      I remember you asking this on live, hope it answered your question! 🤗
      As a noun for "book-reading", people use 독서 the most. As a verb, either 책 읽어요 or 독서하다 can be used!
      제 취미는 독서예요.
      제 취미는 책 읽는 거예요 (독서하는 거예요): But since 독서 is a noun, people usually just say 독서 rather than 독서하는 것... why make it longer, right? 😁

    In terms of VS는 것, how do you know when to use 것은, 것이, 것을?

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  2 года назад +1

      That would now be the question of those particles. Basically V.S~는 것 in all those already nominalized verbs so now that part is a noun. Particles come after nouns to mark if they are subject, object, etc. in that sentence.
      것은 = topic of the sentence (keyword)
      것이 = grammatical subject of the sentence
      👉 difference between the two:
      ruclips.net/video/xvp6Rt43U0M/видео.html
      것을 = object of the sentence
      이/가 vs 을/를 :
      instagram.com/p/CJq1kenBkXh/?
      열심히 사는 것이 정답입니다.
      Living diligently (doing best) is the answer.
      눈 오는 것을 보고 있으면 행복해져요.

    I finished begginer level 1 of basic korean last year. I can read, write, and understand a little by hearing... but I don’t know where to start for beginner level 2 or rather I don’t know what to consider studying this time. Should I start on new vocabs? Rules? Grammar? 🤔😨🤯

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  3 года назад +1

      So did you learn ~어/아요, past tense ~았/었어요, probability ~(으)ㄹ 거예요, and commonly used phrases like ~고 싶다? If not, learn one of these basic grammar patterns that enable you to say basic phrases in Korean. I also have playlists by proficiency levels, so see if there is something you haven't learn. If you did, now learn ~(으)ㄴ/는데, this noun-modifying forms, different speech levels, reasoning connective endings like ~아/어서 and ~(으)니까 to make complex sentences.
      Vocab, yes always add vocab consistently! If you know many words, you can throw short phrases even if you don't know many patterns, right? Plus, watch videos and practice listening. This will reinforce the grammar and vocab you learned, and you can learn from native speaker's real-life conversations. (I have listening series if you want to check that out!) 😘

    쌤 I'm having confusion in using ~는 것 and
    ~기 ...🙄

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  3 года назад +2

      You are not alone... I know 🙄 Honestly, there is no clear answer even among Korean linguists, so don't feel too bad... I would say ~는 것 is way more broadly used than ~기 for the learning purpose. There will be more contexts where ~기 does not work than ~는 것. A few contexts where ~기 is often used are:
      1. When it became a fossilized noun: 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기, 달리기, 걷기 etc.
      2. ~기 좋다/싫다/쉽다/어렵다/힘들다/귀찮다: to express how you feel about doing something (usually right now)
      3. SUB은/는 ~기에 좋다/나쁘다/편하다/불편하다 etc.: to evaluate something for its use, easy to use, convenient to go
      In most other cases, either they are interchangeable or ~는 것 sounds more natural. I will either make a video or have live session about these two in the future!
