    I really appreciate that you take the time to explain WHY something is the way it is in the language. For me, knowing why something is done is pretty important, and if I'm not told it, I'll want to ask -- but it can be hard to figure out how to ask! You are very good about including -- and explaining -- the reasons for the way things are, which for me as a learner is wonderful to have. Thank you so much!

      I also believe knowing the history, story, rationale, and reason for something helps to understand and remember it! I am really happy to hear all the explanation helped you! Your comments made my heart smile, and I will continue doing my best to make useful lessons! 감사합니다~

    I feel like I'm always commenting the same thing in every .single. video BUT I LOVE YOUR EXPLANATIONS, there a lots of korean youtube channels with great clear explanations but yours are not only clear, but they simply click, they feel intuitive and I feel it's because you explain the grammatical background (is that a thing?, lol) but you do break everything down and it's so much easier to just integrate it into the "knowledge matrix" I'm trying to nourish. Thank you

    I think, at least once during all of your videos, there's a point at which some magical golden nugget of knowledge fills in a gap that I didn't know existed in me before, and I immediately have to drop everything and just go "😱😱😱😱😱OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" at the screen until I'm emotionally able to handle my newfound wisdom. In this video, it happened twice. 🤣 After the first one (the 계 in 안녕히 계세요 comes from 계시다 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱) I was like "Wow!! As expected of 재림 선생님, I learned something amazing again!! Well, now that I've gotten that out of the way, I can go back to eating dinner while watching her video because it won't happen again this video." And then you explained that 드시다 is from 들다 (lifting things up to your mouth) and "😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" all over again. 🤣
    And, that's not to mention that I thought I knew the difference between 어요 and 세요 before watching this video... I didn't. 😂
    감사합니다, 선생님! 🙏💕💕💕

    Can you explain more about the difference between 으세요 and 습/ㅂ니다 while they are both used in formal and polite cases,please?

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  Год назад

      ~(으)시~ + ~(스)ㅂ니다 would be ~(으)십니다. But this is only statement because 니다 is only used in statements.
      ~요 ending is casual and polite whereas ~습니다 is formal and most polite, so there is formality difference!

    Hi J, I just found your channel and it helps me a lot with grammar. Can I ask whether there is a future version with -시 or -을 거예요 suitable for that? How would we go with a sentence like "tomorrow my grandma will go to the hospital?" Thank you.

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  3 года назад +1

      Hi! I’m glad you found me! 🙋🏻‍♀️ And awesome to hear I’m helping! Yes, you can use ~(으)시 right after any verb or adjective stems, and then add other suffixes like tense and endings afterwards.
      So for ~(으)ㄹ 거예요, it becomes [verb stem + ~(으)시 + ~(으)ㄹ 거예요]
      가다: 가실 거예요
      보다: 보실 거예요
      앉다 앉으실 거예요
      Tomorrow my grandma will go to the hospital.
      내일 저희 할머니는 병원에 가실 거예요.
      If you want to use the honorifics for the particle -은/는 as well, change it to 할머니께서는 🙂
      Hope this helps! ☺️

    Can you say 우리 부모님은 한국에 사세요 to a friend? Like you use 나는 because you are talking with your close friend and you use 으세요 for the subject (your parent) in the same sentence

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  3 года назад +1

      5:40 If you want to use the subject honorific suffix about your parents but want to drop the politeness 요 to the listener, ~(으)시+어 = ~(으)셔. Like 마시다(to drink) changes to 마셔(요). So if you are dropping the polite ending 요, you say 사셔: 우리 부모님은 한국에 사셔. :)

    Sorry I don't know any Korean but I wonder what is the difference between 했어 and 했는데. İ heard them from a kdrama and a girl was saying these words together in a sentence. I looked at Google translate and it said they both have the same meaning. Please answer someone.

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  3 года назад +1

      ~(으)ㄴ/는데 is a connective ending that means "but, however", which also is used as a sentence ender. As a sentence ender, it delivers different nuances and meanings. Here's my lesson about this specific topic with drama clips. Hope it helps! 😀

    제 숙제:
    저희 엄마는 사과를 좋아하세요 그리고 제 제일 좋아하는 것 과일을 딸기에요
    I hope I did it good xD was trying to use the new things I learned recently 🙊
    선생님, 질문 있어요 🙋🏻‍♀️ The other day I was reading a text and I run to this word “하실”, and when I look it up I was more confused because the translator said “do”... is “하실” the verb “하다” with the honorific suffix “-시” and the particle “-를”?

      *제가 제일 좋아하는 과일은 딸기예요. 🍓🥰 I am so happy you made the sentences! Great job! 👍🏼 저도 딸기를 제일 좋아해요!!! 🙋🏻‍♀️
      About 하실: it probably came before a noun. It’s
      하다 + ~(으)시~ + ~(으)ㄹ
      To do + sub hon suffix + future tense(incomplete) noun modifying form
      That ㄹ is from (으)ㄹ, like (으)ㄹ 거예요. The noun modifying form for verbs for future/probability.
      So the sentences I can think of with 하실 are something like:
      [someone old/high as subject]
      ...하실 거예요.
      ...하실 분이에요. - 분 is the honorific for 사람
      So it’s describing someone older/higher, what they are going to do or what kind of people they are.
      Hope this helps! 😊

      Korean Dream With J 미안해요!! Th notification got lost and I’m noticing your reply until now 🙈... ohhhhhh now I get it, because the text was talking about what God has promised to do for the future, and yes “하실” comes after “미래에’
      와아아아아!! 너무 감사합니다 선생님!!! 🥰❤️

    안녕하세요, 선생님. I’m curious to know if what’s the difference between ‘이세요’ and ‘(으)세요’? 🤔 Because I find these two very confusing. 감사합니다! 😊❤️🙏🏼

      ~(으)세요 is the form of this grammar.
      [consonant]으세요 / [vowel]세요.
      When it's attached to 이다(to be), it becomes 이세요.
      Noun이다 = Noun이세요.
      한국 사람이다 to be Korean
      한국 사람이세요? Are you Korean (honorifics)?

    So if I understand well we can say 우리 부모님은 안녕히 주무셨어?

    • @KoreanJream
      @KoreanJream  3 года назад

      That would mean "my/our parents slept well (honoring parents).", talking to a friend to whom you don't need to use the polite ending ~요. Is this what you were trying to say? Then yes, it is correct. If not, tell me what you want to say, and I will help you!
