Adding the "in context" / normal-human-distance shots is a great idea. We otherwise focus so much on a super zoomed wrist shot, which is *not* how normal people perceive these things.
Regardless of the marketing hype, it's still a nice addition to the Timex Q lineup with minor improvements like the ratcheting steel bezel. The dateless dial helps with the vintage vibe, too.
Cool piece. Especially for someone that likes a throwback to 1980s metal watch bracelets. My wrist is kinda hairy, not sure that would annoy long term for me.
From certain angles it was difficult to see the hour indices. A bit of black around the hour markers similar to SM300 maybe? Otherwise a bit boring IMHO.
Have to give it to Hodinkee for have some good eyes for design. But my personal take is that the hype, the flippers ruined the watch for me, same as all the other hyped watch with crazy premium.
I think this watch is great for someone looking for a low price daily beater. I actually bought this, found it too small for my wrist, and it ended up with my wife who said she likes the vintage look.
I've always thought of Watchfinder as the Premier, certainly Watchchronicler & many others are a higher tier than Hodinkee. Maybe biased as I'm English. Not a really a hater, just not my cup of tea. Do like this watch aesthetically though & would be seriously interested if it was an auto or handwind. Love the lack of a date, spot on! Certainly a bargain for the £/$10 premium. Cheers 👍🏻

I’m so tired of limited edition watches. Like it’s made only for speculators and that’s it. Does anyone care about limited edition watches? I get limited PRODUCTION at high end brands, but intentionally limited editions? Drives me insane.

@@BruceWilliams might be some were recorded in different Frame rates. I had an issue with some footage at 30fps being brought down to 23.97fps. Had sync issues. I use premiere so it’s notoriously buggy
Title was so click baity. Expected the Hodinkee intro and saw Bruce all of a sudden and I went back to my videos to see if i clicked on the wrong one XD
I like it. The no-date complication and bi-directional bezel really puts it over the top of other Q Timex releases. I would prefer it come with a more traditional bracelet and clasp like the one on the Todd Synder limited edition Q Timex but I understand the design decision. It is a divisive watch for sure but it would be less so were it not for scalpers and hypebeasts and I do not blame Hodinkee entirely for that.
When you said "made in China" I lost all interest. Its just me but i refuse to buy made in China merchandise as much as physically possible. Great video though. Cheers.

The second hand actually isn’t hitting the second markers 100% of the time Bruce. However, it’s a bit of inexpensive fun and that’s a good thing.
