but the very first thing you DON'T SEE when you take it out of the box are the indexes ! a bit like my Seiko snzf11 that everybody wants, beautiful in the sun, but in dim light you don't see the indexes. the Rolex explorer II polar dial do not suffer from the same disease: both hands and markers are surrounded in black.

Thanks for the review Chris, timex will always have a special place in my heart, my first watch was a timex, It was my 8th birthday present, many years ago....
I live in Aus and mine arrives tomorrow, happy with that delivery timeframe. I really like the Timex Q but I don’t like the day date just due to symmetry, so this was a no brainer for me and they done a great job with the design here. Can’t wait to slap it on my wrist!
Great review. Didn’t know about this piece until I saw SoCal’s podcast. Definitely not for me. Too sterile and minimalistic. I like the retro feel though and do like the Timex reissues.

I really like this and came close to ordering. But that 38mm case is just a tad too small for me. Thanks for showing it off, Chris. 👍
I have a 7.5inch wrist and this is my second timex q. They wear larger than 38mm because of the somewhat hooded lugs. I think they fit my wrist perfectly. If you really like them I'd give it a try.
What has the world come to if 38 is too small...

Got one in the mail. No grail but quite a fun, simple piece for an OK price. The steel bezel sold it for me. Completely uninterested in the other Timex Qs.

Thanks for a great review! I'm convinced the lack of surrounds on the markers is intentional to avoid too many comparisons with the Rolex Explorer II. Also, the bezel markers would be for normal timekeeping when the triangle is at 12 o'clock. The click bezel is a nice upgrade (bi-directional?) but I wish it came on the bracelet from the Todd Snyder Q Timex release.
