This video may not have the vibe of a Bob Ross video, but it has the same effect on me.
"You just do this... and that... and fiddle some here... and done! Easy! You can do this too!"
Me: "Yeah... right..."
Well, I bet you might not be able to rock some oil paint but, you can patch, too.
BCC Slow tv.. Tonight, how to program Patterns of LAVANDERS
Eerrummp .. Happy buzzy accedents
He’s effectively painting sound landscapes
Honestly this totally explains why some of your resent music sounds very different from what we were used to, it’s a totally different process
Like the beat at 12:50. Be awesome to have an albumn around it. No musician myself at this point, but loved it.
This guy makes me feel like I'm not living my best life
Portable is stretching it a little now. 🤣 Sounds great BTW. Great video 2x👍
haha i know portable by name! not by nature!
It sounds amazing!! 🥰 The 12:50 kick is badass. That sequenced bass reminds me of early Eurythmics.
Totally alien, proper synth sound.. Awesome.. (Makes me want one of these again (modular synths).)
Loving it. 🔥
Mind blowing
Love the vibe you came up with
4:11 - you didht tell us what you did wrong - this is how we learn!!!
Your hair style isn't even close to whats in your mind!
Magnificent work. 🤩👋
Beautiful sequences.😄
THIS is why I love synths! Weird-ass whatevers!
Incredible experience in my ears !
Gotta love patch from scratch video!
Hey bro, you're extremely creative
"smashed switches" lol... we love you Sam.
Gods I can’t wait until I have the cash & space to build a Kosmo format synth - may as well make a furby prison module, too!!
For the performing arts it is very danceable (or, if you just feel like dancing).
I want behringer to clone this...and pay you for royalties 😅 Very cool setup.
It got chaotic towards the end!
For me, this video is like I"m showing up for the first day at a workshop as apprentice, and I don't know what is going on, just vague idea of how it works, and the guy just let me take control. lol
Yesterday I saw some guy talking about his Akai professional MPC X he bought just to control his "big" modular synth and he was testing MPC 3.
The kind of guy that's never makes a video but now he had to say something.
with it's big touchscreen controlled 8 cv gate output, with you can configure to gate of CV.
Smashed switches good thing I inset mine. 😮 Too bad I probably have only moved my diy synth a total of 100 ft in distance from my house since I built it. Only regret not making the case plywood for strength. I would change it but the stickers on it are 🔥
Nice Jam!
Awesome system!
There is a 64 mB psuedo ram (24 bit wide addres) chip in SOIC8 package.
It's used in mobile phones from a certain brand you know.
if you would learn this chip (Ap memory), you could build a super sequencer.
64 mB is like 10 minutes of music in 16 bit wav.
ask your friends.
Make it read from sd caird.
Great video Sam, although my brain cannot compute, my fault not yours! 🙂❤
Another thought, he's not exactly making music, he's creating an environment in which the music kinda creates itself?
Ye gods, Sam, where do you find the time? Amazing.
Just sat here with my new Moog Mavis and trying it out with Minibrute 2s!
It's more portable than a built-in installation.
nice one thnx
Porkokosmo - King of Chonk!
Like Tron legacy style somehow
There really are no computers 😳😨😱🌷
TF are you doing to my speakers man! xD Could you do a sweep from 15hz up to 36Khz slowly in 8min or so? Would really help me get my setups dialed in :D Either way, good content mate!
YT cuts out anything above about 24 KHz because that's where the range of human hearing ends, so you wouldn't hear half of it.
A bit of a diy hero, but what would have Bob Moog have thought about this?
how would i find out more about that sequencer at 9:05?
Knobz&knobz&knobz&knobz&knobz&knobz&knobz
You should have used all the different patching systems all over it. So to run it correctly your cables would need to be like 1/8 TS to banana or 1/4 ts to bare wire. Just, a synth players nightmare. It would be hilarious. Seriously cool kit though, it sounds fantastic.
💙💛
Disco punk
what do women say/ you tell them when they see you have a mad scientist lab in your hour house when they com over? i mean no offense by this I'm asking for a friend.
my wife has been having to deal with this for many years............ not me having other women around haha... i mean dealing with the synthesizers.
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER o ok good she must be a great woman congratulation! you're a lucky man.
I used to have pet rats. You'd be surprised how little the weird stuff matters by the time a girl's already in your house, haha
"When you said rat's nest, I thought you were talking about the tangle of wires dangling off your synths. I didn't know you were being literal. Well, I've already brought my clothes."
butter
That's great. Now tell me how to do it in VCV rack ;)
It is no different, the techniques. For instance, the old VCO > VCF > VCA with envelope applied to CV for frequency cutoff on the filter and envelope to the VCA is the same in VCV and in the physical world.
@@Tofu_Pilot Yeah i know. It's just that i discovered Look Mum No Computer only few month ago along with the existence of those synthetisers. Then few weeks ago i found out, that VCV rack exists and i can try everything without having this box. I have downloaded some patches and i'm trying to use it and have fun with it. But it's lot of new stuff to learn. And you need lot's of experience to make it sound at least decent
The real secret to the ultimate portable is having all that virtually inside a laptop or tablet (miRack or Cardinal forks), although it's less impressive to look at irl. 😏You can kind of copy it as it is. UI on his modules is different in places due to the DIY aspect, but the functionality is the same as the modules available there. There's nothing that stands out as missing from the virtual library, just some time spent in matching up the sounds with the right oscillators. (Befaco Kickall was even said by name, but I think there's Pony in there too with the wave-foldy hint to it among other stuff.)
Sure it’s portable… you just need a forklift, that’s all. 😜
first hehe
