Perfect review, no details are missing, thanks for that! I think we pay here a lot for the heritage, we should be aware of that! But it´s ok. And I am in love with the Batman! Oh....I really said this? Never mind! Go on Jody!
Seconds hand seems to be landing on the markers well? A popular cool thing for TIMEX to have done would have been adding an actual Peace symbol from the 70's on the hour hand.
You're being kind towards the original Q in not mentioning the movement. The reason I returned mine immediately was the garbage Epson stuffed into it. I found it impossible to not have the minute hand jump unpredictably a few minutes before/after the time I sent it to. That was inexcusable, even the cheap $30 Timexes I have don't do that.
I think I'd like a coke bezel variant. I like the idea of a quartz GMT. I assume it might be easier to keep set at the correct time(s) if you cycle multiple watches in your collection and don't want to wear this thing every other day.
Everything I have heard is that a quartz GMT regardless of aesthetics makes for the most accurate travel watches bar none (why do you think military pilots use G-shocks - rough and tumble, sure, but you can have multiple time zones in the digi part, altitude on some models, and that good ol’ Casio Japan Mvt). If you are considering buying this watch or any of its variants, definitely sign up for notices. I got the email this morning and bought the next-to-last PVD Gunmetal watch before 9:30AM Central Daylight Time.
I considered buying the previous Pepsi Q, but all three watches in the shop had the second hand not hitting the markers. Same with the GMT one featured in the review. Don’t really understand why Times can’t fix it? Most of the Casios, even much cheaper ones don’t have this issue.
I never knew this was coming and I wanted a quartz GMT for travel. I bought the Timex Allied Three GMT on eBay for 200. This is a nicer looking watch, also, the one I bought is a chunky 43mm boy. If only I could tell the future! Still though, I do enjoy the watch I bought!
I don't know if you in Down Under have access to the german brand Dugena. But if you can I would recommend to make a revuew of the Dugena Tresor 4460912. A Rolex Explorer substitue for 250 or 210 Euros. The quality of the case and especially the bracelet is stunning for thus price range.
Looks quite nice but too small for me. I also see comments about the movement, which I can't comment on with any kind of authority. But, I have the Pagani Design Pepsi GMT with the Pearl movement, and have to say, its been perfect since I've had it - about 12 months. Better size, I changed the bracelet to a jubilee, and I love it. And it was a lot less than this Quartz. Great review as always though. 👍
I'm thinking about the Batman. I already have the original pepsi and I think they would look quite nice together. I also think this pepsi looks a bit too much like the gmt-master.
A vast improvement over the original Q Re-issue. They seem to be milking the original with about 50 different colorways now. The Malibu Collection in pinks and pastel colors. It's a bit ridiculous. I sent my first Q back. After paying almost 300 dollars Canadian for it , it just felt a bit too rickety for the price. Particularly after just receiving my Helm Vanuatu at a similar cost. I just couldn't justify it. The GMT looks promising though. We'll see how much Canada gets dinged for one 😁
This one is a looker for sure. My mate bought the pagani and yes it does have an automatic movement but on his every night when it's about to turn midnight the whole movement grinds to a halt. 😬
The last Timex I bought was a very loud ticker, you could clearly hear it across the room. It put me off buying one ever again. Is this a particularly noisy watch?
Can anyone confirm whether this version still has a loud ticking sound. As much as I love my Q Timex, it's annoying trying to sleep if I have it on the bedside table as you can hear it ticking.
I've given up on Timex, bought two watches and had to return both because they stopped working.. It has been almost two months and still have nto seen my refund.
You didn't show us if it's a traveller's GMT or a caller's GMT...which is kinda a crucial information when covering a GMT watch! Anyway, if it has the same movement as the Eagle Ray, then it is indeed a caller's GMT.
@@JustOneMoreWatch Both GMT types allow fully adjusting the GMT hand. In case anyone is reading this and is confused - a traveller's GMT allows you to change the hour hand without affecting other hands. This allows you to change the hour hand to the local time without stopping the watch. It's the preferred GMT. The other GMT is the caller's GMT. Moving the hour's hand will also move the GMT hand. In order to set them individually, you have to stop the watch. The easiest way to check which type of the GMT you have is to simply try changing the hours - if the hour hand jumps and the seconds hand doesn't stop moving, you have the superior GMT - traveller's GMT.
The Ronda 515 24h is a joke of a movement. Just try to synchronize the GMT hand with the hour hand--I dare you! The GMT hand doesn't move in hour increments, and due to friction issues and cheap constriction it starts moving only 20 minutes after you set it. Furthermore, when you adjust the GMT hand, it messes with the minute hand and moves it half a minute forward. Real unusable junk.
I woundn't say "unusable junk," but it is a bit tricky to adjust the GMT hand, as you say. The problem is common to quartz watches that you need to move the hands counter-clockwise to take up the slack from the "backlash" in the gears. The GMT hand, however, can't be turned counter-clockwise, so it must be set 15-20 minutes ahead of the minute hand to take out the slack. Annoying, but I've gotten used to it.
@@WG55 Delbert and Kit, thanks. Yes, I'm aware of that. It CAN be managed, but for me the main problem is the fact that every time you set the GMT hand, the minute hand moves slightly. I like my minute and seconds hands to be synchronized, i.e., that the minute hand points the index precisely when the seconds hand reaches 12:00. Thus, due to the movement's friction problem, I have to re-synchronize the minute and second hands each time I set the GMT hand. That's exhausting.
@@JustOneMoreWatchI had the wrong impression about the acrylic in this case. I thought it was synonymous with low quality. I'll keep an eye out for the next watch! :)

Jody, yours is one of the very few channels where I hit the like button before watching the video.
Thanks Igor!
I think that its the perfect gmt watch for me. It is cheap and 38mm
I had the original Pepsi reissue and that battery compartment on the case back bothers my wrist.
The ring beneath the original Q bezel was dark blue actually, in bright sunlight
EU site been out of stock for a while . I want the black pvd one ....
great video Jody, Way too expensive for specs and what it is.
This one is a looker for sure. My mate bought the pagani and yes it does have an automatic movement but on his every night when it's about to turn midnight the whole movement grinds to a halt. 😬
Oops! Those DG/Pearl GMT movements are a little bit sketchy eh?

Definitely safer with the Timex.
Fun little one, this Q! Thanks for the review Jody!
Always enjoy your content, cheers Jody
Hi Jody, good honest review as always, not a fan of Pepsi watches so I will pass. keep up the good work
The last Timex I bought was a very loud ticker, you could clearly hear it across the room. It put me off buying one ever again. Is this a particularly noisy watch?
Ha! Funny you should mention that..... Watch the first 3 mins! ruclips.net/video/JSzs6v8jMgs/видео.html&ab_channel=JustOneMoreWatch
I have the Batman version of this watch; I had the same concern……verdict: No Loud Ticking (it’s nice and quiet)
Can anyone confirm whether this version still has a loud ticking sound.
As much as I love my Q Timex, it's annoying trying to sleep if I have it on the bedside table as you can hear it ticking.
Are they gonna have a Snoopy version?
I've given up on Timex, bought two watches and had to return both because they stopped working.. It has been almost two months and still have nto seen my refund.
Interesting! Might have to get a 4 hander
Sweet T-Shirt, mate. 💋
I would buy it if this case was used on a diver and came with a clicking bezel, and I'm an absolute sucker for a deployant rubber strap.
Hello there! Will somebody try any metal modes on solar CasiOak with Bluetooth? Maybe it could be you...
You didn't show us if it's a traveller's GMT or a caller's GMT...which is kinda a crucial information when covering a GMT watch!
Anyway, if it has the same movement as the Eagle Ray, then it is indeed a caller's GMT.
Ha! Yes mate, I forgot. It is a fully adjustable GMT hand.
I've had no issues setting mine 🤷🏻♂️
@@WG55 Delbert and Kit, thanks. Yes, I'm aware of that. It CAN be managed, but for me the main problem is the fact that every time you set the GMT hand, the minute hand moves slightly. I like my minute and seconds hands to be synchronized, i.e., that the minute hand points the index precisely when the seconds hand reaches 12:00. Thus, due to the movement's friction problem, I have to re-synchronize the minute and second hands each time I set the GMT hand. That's exhausting.
Acrilic? Could and should be mineral glass, I think.
Nah mate, acrylic is period correct and makes it look pretty sweet. Plus scratches polish out, unlike mineral!
@@JustOneMoreWatchI had the wrong impression about the acrylic in this case. I thought it was synonymous with low quality. I'll keep an eye out for the next watch! :)
