This conductor is everything that a conductor should be. I've heard it said that with professional musicians like this, you really don't NEED a conductor - they're perfectly capable of playing the piece in unison without the baton. But this guy... he's not exactly directing the music, he IS the music. And that's how I want to live my life... I am not directing the music, I AM the music. We are part of it, it is part of us! So what is the difference? You are not alone!
This brought tears to my eyes today.

FF12 was made by the same team that made FF9, FFT and Vagrant Story. Square has always had multiple teams in their company. Nomura has never had anything to do with the Ivalice, and uematsu only did the music for 9, while Hitoshi Sakamoto has been the star composer of the other 2 i mentioned.
The thing is, in the middle of development of FF12 the main director of the Ivalice Alliance had to take leave and it was left up to the director of the SaGa series to take the rein, so ofc things changed.

well, the "you are not alone" moment is exactly the one that i would really like to see with voice acting. but you have to think theres good and bad voice acting, bad voice acting can destroy a whole character(like vanille from ff13) but sometimes it can be very powerful, my personal favorite game is the first metal gear solid, i cant imagine this game without voice acting but with the old ffs it worked pretty awesome as you said

Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware that they did a remake for the PS store. As soon as I get my PS3 back (currently letting someone borrow it) I will be sure to get those downloaded. Then I will be one step closer to playing all games currently in the series. I've enjoyed all of the games thus far, so I doubt it will be disappointing.

I could go on, but those are the ones I've played the most and/or finished.
To me, the music for the FF series is always good. It's just some of the scores are a little more memorable than others.
I hope Square Enix keeps creating highly imaginative stories for a long time to come. Sadly, it seems the RPG genre for video games is on the decline for the US. Herm... :/

"I always talked about you, Zidane. How you were a very special person to us, because you taught us all how important life is. You taught me that life doesn't last forever. That's why we have to help each other and live life to the fullest. Even if you say goodbye, you'll always be in our hearts. So, I know we're not alone anymore. Why I was born... How I wanted to live... Thanks for giving me time to think. To keep doing what you set your heart on... It's a very hard thing to do. We were all so courageous... What to do when I felt lonely... That was the only thing you couldn't teach me. But we need to figure out the answer for ourselves... I'm so happy I met everyone... I wish we could've gone on more adventures. But I guess we all have to say goodbye someday. Everyone... Thank you. Farewell. My memories will be part of the sky..."

Purplepuppet The creations of Japan, especially anime and games, have been the moral Mr Miyagi's or Yoda or whoever is your guy, of so many of us. I learnt to not give up by watching Bleach, I learnt to care about people from Naruto, I learned what adventure is from RPGs. If japanese game and anime were just slightly incorporated into school systems all over the world, just about 30 minutes a day, the world would be in peace.

FF IX taught me how to treat others, and taught me that we all have our own rolls however small it is. Every life in itself has its sginificance. You might laugh at me if I'd say that a TV game taught me a philosophy of life. I'm pretty sure, however, I'm not alone.

I think what moved me the most about FF9 is how we fear death. Some people, like Kuja were so afraid to die it drove him to do insane, evil things in order to prevent it. In the end I felt so sorry for him, because he felt so alone and had no hope. He was the real victim. If he were not so afraid, would he still have been a villain?
And nope, you are not alone. I appreciate you.

When we heard it play a little later in the night, I cried. It holds so much sentiment!

Hearing this in the car in FFXV brought me back here, and this rendition instantly brought me to tears. The generation that grew up with Final Fantasy learned so many positive lessons and values from these games at a time when they weren't recognized as anything but a childish waste of time by most of our parents. It's funny to think how deeply wrong that notion was. These games are master works of art, easily surpassing the depth of many other mediums, and more than that, they bring out the best in all who are touched by them. I'm thankful that they will always be a part of me.

    • @XiongGou
      @XiongGou 7 лет назад +34

Christopher Wilbanks hearing your description is exactly how I have always felt. Especially about people believing there is no significant value because it's a silly waste of time, it's just a video game. It's not though, these games teach about sacrifice, love, selflessness, honor, overcoming fear and doubt and doing the right thing just because! That is why these games have the following they do. Just wish modern games would grasp this concept of a game being more than just a game.

They are definitely special games. Archetypal myth and wisdom, heroes journey etc. Tremendous presentation and music. The FF series is one of the most important games, it is the definition of iconic and classic in the medium. Some games are great, some are popular, some are great and popular, these are beloved all over the world.

Thankfully i got great parents , and my dad was the one leading me into the world of games . I grew up playing all those adorable and creative pieces … i got inspired in so many ways , and i still love them . im thankfull my dad could give his Passion of Video gaming and Music to the next 2 Generations , and if i will ever get the Chance to tell others how impressive , and Beautiful those "old games" are and were , i will do it . I got the Chance to see the Distant Worlds Final Fantasy Orchestra 3 times live , and it has been the most beatiful Music ive ever seen and heard live . it touched me in so many ways , and i barely could Held my Tears back at every piece of it , aswell as susann calloway was singing … its worth every hard earned Gil - and id recomend it by anytime again ! - Greetings

To me FF IX is the best because it is most humane. There is no single pure evil character and even though it's handling themes like death the way it handles them is so unbelievably humane. And Uematsu's music captures perfectly that humanity.

@@brotheralaric7177 She wasn't purely evil, she was manipulated by other evil people into doing evil things in the belief that it would fix her in the wake of her own problems. She's almost a victim in the story and pays for being the puppet in the end.
