Honestly, I get a little rush just from that little "pop" at the start. I've watched this on and off for the last 10 years and that little pop just brings back the nostalgia of all the times I've watched it. So good for so many reasons!
yep, after seeing three, this is definitely the best, making the string fewer somehow feels better, others have more strings, but it feels like the sound is washed out.
PyroFierceDeity You don't have to love Chrono Cross to appreciate the music, man. I fucking hated it with a passion, despite considering CT one of the best games of all time. That's doesn't stop me from appreciating the work of talented musicians, nor does it stop anyone else. I've heard larger ensembles do a better job than they did, and that's no knock against the fantastic job they did.
@@RenEffect I remember I tried to learn the solo on my violin, but it was so damn hard lmao, she really went above with the variations on it, it's absolutely amazing!
I think the violin solo is, in fact, not from the one who is in camera during the part, but rather the other lady with glasses on sitting right the other side. As you can see on the video, the movement of her hand is slightly different from the music.
Pode passar o tempo q for. Sempre me lembrarei da primeira vez q ouvi no ps1. Ai da ouvindo em 2023/07. Passarei o legado p minha filhota. Ela vai jogar cc, ct, ff, bof, grandia e muitos outros classicos.
My metal friends know that this kind of music is not easy to play, and they respect the process it takes to get to play this way. We hardcore gamers know that this goes beyond just music. It's great that you can appreciate it both ways. Greetings from Medellin-Colombia to all Chrono Cross lovers.
The energy in this video never fails to make my day. The blonde woman's smile is very precious. Came across this performance when i was 13. 9 years later I'm 22 and still watch it all the time. Hope all the artists are doing great.
I like how some of them have the happy look while playing (that guy smirking makes me smile). This song always gets me. So beautiful. So emotional. So powerful. Such greatness. My childhood is coming back.
It is now September 2016. I have heard this song countless times and still, this performance has given me goosebumps that are simply refusing to go away. Fantastically well done.
This video always bring tears in my eyes. This is an outstanding performance, flute wise AND Violin. That violin chick from the left is crazy skilled - all of them are, WELL DONE!
My favorite song from any game ever - and as an avid Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Castlevania fan that says something - but I have to admit I had never heard this until now. What a treat. This melody is always with me.
Compare to other live performance where a ton of artists are gathered to perform this masterpiece on the Internet, this one only need 11 of them and it still able to give me the same chills as the original at 1:12. Plus the violinist at 2:36 just made this song even more perfect. P/S: The music is so emotional that it forced guy behind the blond-haired guy at 2:23 to smile :D
3:07 has been bringing tears to my eyes for years. The passion in the way they move going back into the chorus, coupled with the power and poignancy of the song really gets me.
23 seconds in and chills already. The phenomenon of music in that it is the true time machine. Just letting the theme play while I ate a bowl of cereal as a kid
Man I just started kind of crying when that violin solo came in lol. What an incredible rendition of this track. You can really feel the passion and fun and love they’re putting into their performance.
I just started playing Chrono Cross today, and at first I paid no attention to the intro. As soon as the music started up, I dropped anything I was doing, and had to listen. This is amazing!!!
I know the violinist is great but after so many years I think the bouncing/thumping bass gets really overlooked in this performance. It's much simpler than what the violinist is playing but man does it tie everything together and add some flavor.
The pronounced basslines throughout much of the Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger OSTs are a big part of what make them so great. Gotta love that bass, and this guy executed it perfectly along with the rest of the orchestra. This really is one of my favorite performances of all time, of any piece of music.
+MuriloEternalGames yeah. best game ever. i was like 10 when the 1st time i play this game. and i dont really care with the story. Yasunori Mitsuda, thank you. Your music made these musicians have a moment in their lives full of nothing but love for the piece they got to play for themselves and the audience.
I’ve never even played these games, but a buddy of mine who has showed me this and I absolutely love it. Someday I’ll give Chrono Trigger/Cross a shot.

2024 and that violin solo still gives me chills how good it is😌
Same bro, I come back every year or so to just watch the magic and chemistry that they all had back then. Once in a lifetime kind of thing

this video spoiled me so much, I can't watch any other version of Scar of time
I have seen videos of bigger orchestras playing this song and not even one gets close to this version, these guys fucking rock
because there is true passion
Yeah, I agree. My favorite version too.
yep, after seeing three, this is definitely the best, making the string fewer somehow feels better, others have more strings, but it feels like the sound is washed out.
danielqv maybe because these people have played and loved the game as much as we did

Evarin Sharath'fe ditto
Probably not 2023 and still listening
We're STILL here!
Waving from sept 2023 here🥰
Was having this EXACT thought as I ran into your comment. Here I am in 2024, crying like a baby once again.. gets me every time 🥲

2024 here 👋. I will ALWAYS return to this beautiful performance!
I'm laying in a hammock looking up at blue skies and just vibing to this rn.
I'm disappointed that this only received 5 seconds of applause from the crowd. What a gem! This deserves atleast a minute of continuous applause.
That lady melted some faces with that violin solo.
And the flute intro pumped me up. They are fantastic
2:53 to 2:57 REALLY KICKED SOME ASSES
She definitely slew some dragons with that solo.

I kno right! She turned ALL da way ☝
I entered my wedding by the sound of this epic song. Best decision I've made that day.
Caetano Silva Brazilian?
And you used the time egg a minute later?
Caetano Silva omg i want the same

One of the best themes ever. The flute solo would get so many applauses here in Brazil they would have to restart the concert.
I love how giddy they look during the flute solo, they know they’re about to blow the roof off the place.
The violinists are killing me in the best way. My God, that was beyond words. Absolutely hypnotizing.
It's rare for a piece of music to bring me to the point of tears . These guys are fantastic.

The first chair violinist!

she pwned the shit out of that song. She's awesome.
yes

She was awesome, but some credit to the flutist who did a very elegant but not overpowering counter solo.
This song always sends chill across my skin. The way the lead violinist and the flute player bounce off of each other shows tremendous chemistry.
I love the fact that you can see everyone is totally vibin with the music and smiling on stage.
It's so heartwarmingly wholesome
