As a German, you can tell she doesn't know the language, but it's sort of magical to hear your mother tongue in such a foreign way. It's a beautiful piece of music and a beautiful performance.
That's pretty common for orchestral singers like this tho. The orchestra director decides to perform a piece of music and the singers have to learn the words whether or not they speak the language.
I think this might also be caused by the way the music is written. Japanese music has different rhythms than western music and different ways of accentuating words within the lyrics. So the german words are sometimes stressed on the wrong syllable. But that also makes it so pretty and unique imo

Wow, that's truly exceptional! It ranks among the finest soprano performances, complementing one of the most captivating stories ever told by humanity. I'm afraid this version is ten times better than the original, the German pronunciation is out of this world! Congratulations to Stella besides the pronunciation the performance as soprano is amazing! I'm totally crazy about her!
It's beautiful of course but the pronounciation is sometimes a bit off. this only bothers you if you're german but the other version by Grissini was phenomenal in that regard. Im talking that I thought she was natively german, because that's how good her pronounciation was. obviously here it's a nitpick that you only notice when your german and if you listen to the music without watching the anime. and yes in the original me and my other german friends didn't realize the text was german until we listened to a version on youtube with lyrics. hiring a japanese person to sing in german is counterintuitive especially if she has such a beautiful voice as the woman in the origional. I gotta admit though Stella did a perfect job as saying "grandiose"
@arapaimagold8088, I completely agree that Hiroyuki Sawano's Japanese Suite from the Project is remarkable. It's true that the German lyrics can be challenging for native Japanese speakers, and this is somewhat noticeable in the performance. However, this is a symphonic orchestral rendition, akin to some themes in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which naturally brings about certain similarities. Yet, this doesn't detract from the achievement of creating an orchestral version of AoT that carries a deeper emotional resonance. The use of German adds a layer of meaning, enhancing the overall impact. It's akin to a non-Italian singer performing an Italian opera with a deep understanding of the dynamics and nuances of the language, aligning it with the musical composition's intent. This version, while different, brings its own unique and powerful interpretation to the table.
I was part of an orchestra and I always found it mesmerizing and comforting that in everystoke and note everyone would be in sync and if u were just s bit off you could regain the momentum by the bows movement
Best and most memorable song for me in the whole show... So sad we didn't got to hear the full song in AoT finale. Thank you so much guys, this was truly amazing.

I'm always a bit baffled when today's audience is so surprised that German is a beautiful singing language. I guess, they must not learn about Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Wagner, Strauss etc. in school or their private life anymore.
@@mimamo you have Hitler to thank for that. Modern peoples primary impressions of German as a language is violent, loud, aggressive and hateful sounding. The German they get exposed to is either of movie characters or history class teachings, which as you might have guessed are all about ww2.
The Betrayal episode is down one of the best episode of anime all time and this song delivers all the shivers
The ost used in the betrayal episode was actually useebiggirl ..
10 years of my life wrapped up within an hour and a half. It's a weird feeling now, when I hear this. A lot of people have mentioned the goosebumps, which im not immune to myself, it's like looking at old photos of past friends. All of these memories and emotions come to the surface, reminiscing about times past, good and bad. Wishing you could live them again, but comfortable with the fact you also wouldn't change a thing. In the same way, Attack on Titan, and this song in particular, will always have a spot in my heart.
Shinzou wo sasageyo!
🔥🔥Shinzou sasagewo
I'm soooo glad the video is back!!! It's one of my favorite videos ever, I was crossing my fingers for you to win ❤❤❤
Goosebumps whenever I hear them in harmony 🤧
This story and, by extension, the beautiful music of Attack on Titan mean so much to me. It’s a masterpiece I will cherish forever.
The clarity of her voice is outstanding!!! The whole ensemble sounds fantastic, actually!!! But her voice?? She makes those high notes and that perfect entonation seem completely effortless!!! This is a fantastic job right here!!!
clarity as in i cant understand a word she sings?
@@darcave7986 Maybe cuz you don't speak german?
@@kllyfify1489maybe cause im a native german and her pronounciation is just way off?
@@darcave7986 This is a cover. The lyrics were written to accompany japanese-style song composition and pacing. If she stressed the correct syllables for perfect german, it wouldn't match the instruments. Anyway clarity refers to the vocal quality. Her notes arent 'muddy' but clear. Understand?
@@tulpenvoormij98 good point about clarity. Its still possible to pronounce at least one vovel right without breaking the vocal and instrumental structure.
Vogel im Käfig is one of my favorite songs of Snk, on top with bauklotze. But this version, I...I have no words to explain my feelings. I just wish I could hear it for the first time again. So congratulations !
finally no distraction on the end again. now i can enjoy this song so much
Life does indeed imitate art. How absolutely awe inspiring.
Thanks!
Edit:
Thank you so much for this masterpiece and the whole orchestra!! One shall be honored of being able to bask in the glory of the heavenly renditions arranged by the Grissini Project. Shinzouuu Sasageyo!!
If I could sing this song like her I would never shut up. The lady & the orchestra were the definition of perfection here. Give them all the awards. Combining her voice, the superbly talented musicians & choir, together with AOT - which is also a masterpiece, is what art is about. The goosebumps and all. It's what happens when great artists combine their talents together. You don't get a combination of perfection like this often. Thank you so much for this. I also appreciate that you guys took the time to add the English subtitles, it really contributed a lot emotionally.
Literally one of the peakest ost to exist I’m so glad it’s being appreciated like this bro
''Reiner are we doing it? Right here? Right now?'' Holy shit I got chills in my spine when this scene appeared with this soundtrack. So glad to be born in perfect time to witness ATTACK ON TITAN. the true masterpiece
Je sors du concert de Bordeaux, et je suis tellement heureux d’avoir entendu cette musique en live
C’était parfait
Encore merci ❤
"No one mustn't be deprived of his life waywardly" just hits so differently when you realize that's exactly what happens to Eren in a very different sense after getting the Attack Titan and having those memories flood him sitting under that tree.
Her facial expression really elevates the song. Well done
First of all, congratulations for the outstanding project. Secondly, Ms. Siecinska's performance was exceptionally full of passion.
they're back 🥰
The singer is great, one of the best i have heard in my livetime. She feels the song and has fun with it. The orchestra is also great. I want more!
I loved your original arrangement but this one is so powerfull. The ending with the full orchestra and the organ gave me the greatest goosebumps !
Never before has such a beautiful orchestra of music moved me to this many tears.
I remember when I heard the first version some time ago. It was the first time I've heard this song, and listening to the original one didn't feel as beautiful and powerful. The Grissini version will always have a special place in my heart ❤
That's how it is
Me too!
Theres soo much emotion in each and every musician..
ITS BACKKK! GOD I LOVE THIS SONG!
This song never fails to make me cry. You guys are the best.
2:23 I felt those goosebumps everytime 🥶
The fact that I have already forgotten the way this song goes is what made it more chilling to me. It was like I am listening to it the very first time, just goosebumps every few moments.
I have never seen a beautiful performance in German like this. My eyes have opened, my ears too. Satisfying time!
All thanks to Hiroyuki Sawano for this beautiful piece ❤
Hiroyuki is the best anime composer of all time, without a doubt
He didnt compose this piece, this is a cover and a completely different track lol
@@leighg9o bro 😑 Sawano composed and produced this... why are u trying to say other wise?
@@leighg9ohiroyuki sawano compose all the theme song in the AOT. Every music sawano compose is masterpiece. From gundam, guilty crown, kill la kill,Ao no excorist, aldnoah zero etc.
i watched the full orchestra performance right after watching the last episode of aot (last part), and i kept rewatching it for like 5-6 times solely for this song. now it's showing up in my youtube home and i decided to watch it again, little did i know that this performance still gives me goosebumps and i almost shed a tear (the first time i watched it i cried like crazyyy). what an outstanding performance! i wish i could support you guys but i'm a broke student soooo :(
Wait, this was an orchestra? With tickets and shit? That sounds awesome
Vogel im Käfig is so iconic. Well done! I have goosebumps!!!
This arrangement is brilliant. One of my favourite parts, the cello in 4:16 and the dramatic neogothic organ at the chorus.
SPOILER ALERT:
I was waiting a new arrangement of this song in the final episode. Never heard anybody talking about it but I would love to answer that someday...
Keep on doing projects like this and Shinzoo wo Sasageyo!
Bro same. It’s the only let down I have with the finale. I was really hoping the song that started it all would be there in the end and it just… never showed up. The soundtrack we got tho was still legit and hype af
jesus christ. tears streaming down my face. incredible.
No matter how many times I hear this song, it overwhelms me to tears. Absolutely amazing performance.
Listening to this made me feel reborn, as all the great classics made me feel. Incredible lyrics that deliver a greater impact with accurate vocals, and an impressive orchestra to bring out the sheer depth and weight of the piece, thank you so much for making this possible !!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like the first composition because it was sooo personal. It was like your personal anguish coming out which makes me emotional everytime. This one is sooo epic! This gave me goosebumps all throughout.
Can we talk about the expression in her eyes being another instrument that made this interpretation a new level of perfection?
The facial expression of the singer is soooooooo amazing. I love her gesture. I love her voice. I love the instruments ❤
Can listen to this over and over again ❤
Un travail titanesque sur ce projet, bravo à toute l'équipe pour ce moment. Je pense que je vais l'écouter au moins une bonne dizaine de fois🕊
The best version of Vogel Im Käfig I've ever heard. Magnificent!
I can’t stop listening to this, it’s so beautiful
This is just so amazing. The singers voice is perfect, the orchestra sounds so beautiful. Thank you for bringing this music to life in such a visceral and heartfelt way. You all clearly put so much time and work and love into this and it shows. Thank you so much ❤
I’m gon cry and i’m not ashamed.
100 thousand pounds project ?!! Man, no wonder my eyes are already wet and literally dripping....
AoT's OST is one of the kind and will live along it's anime's name...
Thank you AoT....
Oh my god, the tear that appeared at 5:14, thank you for this wonderful moment.
I don't think that was a tear..
Oh my... Truly beautiful 😢😢😢
An opportunity to sit in a theatre to experience this will be a lifetime memory for me.
It’s very good but all the false emphasis still bothers me, I wish they’d made a few minor changes to make it flow better
Honestly the O.G in suite version still untouchable. And still the definition of war song. While this version sounded like Castlevania.
I don’t know German so the original is still no1 for me lol.
This literally made me want to cry, especially since I finished watching the series.
This It is so beautiful.
I've lost count of the number of times I rewatched the video from minute 3:50, I got chills everytime, She's got such an expressiveness
I fall in love at 1:05
Don’t worry, we all do
Best and most memorable song for me in the whole show... So sad we didn't got to hear the full song in AoT finale.
Thank you so much guys, this was truly amazing.
Bravo ma Stella si fière je t'aime fort ❤ magnifique projet bravo à tous
We cannot thank you enough for this performance. I got chills and goosebump for hours.
This is so absolutely beautiful. I need to buy these records omg.
Was für ein wundervolles Stück! Und ein tolles Ensemble.
Ich liebe es!
