I'm so proud of this community.
The Wedding Assault reminds me what an epic video game moment was like the first time I watched it. That scene remains with me after all these years, and the music just reminds me how great it was.
This hits so much harder than hearing a filmscore as normally we're alone playing our games, and seeing and hearing these wonderful musicians playing these tunes in a hall filled with likeminded people makes for a truly spiritual experience
What a joy it must be to be on that stage and also a fan of the game itself, and re-creating these moments of pure musical bliss. Cheers to anyone listening
I discovered Mr. Nuss on Spotify due to my previous listenings to one Masashi Hamauzu; I came to admire Mr. Nuss' portfolio of piano renditions of famous RPG classics as well as other albums of work. What a brilliant musician.
FFX's ending theme might just be the most powerful music I have ever heard, and I'm not quite sure how it could ever change. Uematsu Nobuo's talent is priceless, and this interpretation is flawless
I think what makes this soundtrack so coherent and satisfying is that the music was literally written to be part of the universe. In some media, video games and movies inclusive, music is written to fill the void, to elicit strong emotions such as tears, to move people to anger and violence, in order to entice the audience to sympathize with the characters or their motives. There are other artistic reasons as well, such as to pair sound with the landscape. But in Final Fantasy X, the Hymn of the Faith plays a central role in the story and lives of the characters. Not only is it the source of inspiration for the key melodies that we hear while playing the game, but the Hymn is actually part of their universe. That forms a very special bond between the player and the game.
That is so true! I started playing FF7(OG) now, and I am fascinated by the pure wealth of music inside there. And I am not even at wallmarket! FF8 and 9 caught me in my childhood. It was so well done. Where FF8 feels like an action movie, FF9 deliveres better in forming the story with the music (and remember, FF9 had no voiceover). And then FF10 hit like a brick. Voiceover (which was sometimes a little cringy), combined with music? Truly a masterpiece! In some places I just stood there, switched to the main menu or paused the game and just listened to the music for half an hour or so. (never did that again in FF12, 13 or 15 though...) Uematsu (Sensei? Sensei!) definitely uses the music to enhance or sometimes form the story, not just to fill it.
This is maybe the most effective arrangement of this music that I've ever heard. I didn't think you could make this score more beautiful, but here we are.
Actually, I was missing a bit of depth and "supportive power" in there. Please don't get me wrong --- all of the orchestra members did an EXCELLENT job there... Nevertheless, as a passionate "hobby organist", I got taken away by this amazing concert and simply had to add up to it: ruclips.net/video/LOBPzFUqQR8/видео.html Man, I dearly wish I would have been able to team up with the orchestra live and in person... They're an extremely skilled group of professionals! Also, I still hope that Benyamin Nuss is going to watch/listen to it and would leave a comment eventually.
THANK YOU. I just bought the HD remaster, 3 days ago. Because yeah, i played this game like 15 yrs ago or so ... And i still dream about it. The music haunt me a lot, still crying listening to "To Zanarkan" or the Mt Gagazet theme ... Bravo. And thank you again.
I'm crying through the whole video. From the first note of To Zanarkand till the conclusion like a Eternal Calm in The Ending theme. From 54:48 and onwards I can't see a thing from my tears falling down. There's nothing else that I can say than "extraordinarily beautiful" for both the game and the soundtracks in this. Still my most favorite game and soundtracks of all time.
FFX will always be my favorite video game, nothing will ever surpass it. It’s such an important part of my life, and I’ll treasure the memories of both playing the game and the time of my life where I was even able to immerse myself in a story so much.
RPG games like Final Fantasy are some of the only games that still let the music breath so fully. It brings the stories to life. Thankful for their inspiration.

@@austinmongold1873 IKR! And the "...all the friends that we have lost, and the dreams that have faded, never forget them" part just breaks me.
I can't begin to describe how much I wish more people knew how beautiful video games can be. It doesn't help that I relate way too much to anything sad, about loss, lonliness or sacrifice. AAAHHH! I'm such a JRPG cliche >.< hahaha
Who’s cutting onions?
🤗
This is a heavenly show. How gorgeous is Tidus theme orchestrated! Perfect ost to ever exist.
I'm so grateful to read in the comments that I'm not alone with my feelings of bursting into tears and reliving a nostalgic journey through Spira. Music has so much power. Thanks for sharing these masterpieces from a game that will always touch my heart.
I'm so proud of this community.
The Wedding Assault reminds me what an epic video game moment was like the first time I watched it. That scene remains with me after all these years, and the music just reminds me how great it was.
thank you for making a grown man cry, beautiful memories
You're not the only one lol.
I get tears in my eyes easily too
This hits so much harder than hearing a filmscore as normally we're alone playing our games, and seeing and hearing these wonderful musicians playing these tunes in a hall filled with likeminded people makes for a truly spiritual experience
Yes, he is!
FFX's ending theme might just be the most powerful music I have ever heard, and I'm not quite sure how it could ever change.
Uematsu Nobuo's talent is priceless, and this interpretation is flawless
Me to myself: You’ll cry, you're gonna cry, you always cry. See? You're crying.
underrated comment
Hahaha
Imagine having the ability to compose this music, absolutely amazing.
At my high school graduation our orchestra played To Zanarkand. What a cathartic experience that was.
BEST MOST FAITHFUL VERSION ON THE INTERNET 👏🙌 HANDS DOWN.
BRAVO
Thank you 🤗
I think what makes this soundtrack so coherent and satisfying is that the music was literally written to be part of the universe. That forms a very special bond between the player and the game.
how to express my love for you writting this down, this so true
(never did that again in FF12, 13 or 15 though...)
Uematsu (Sensei? Sensei!) definitely uses the music to enhance or sometimes form the story, not just to fill it.
You guys should try playing xenoblade 3 if it interests you at all
Right! Same with most Zelda games. The music is part of the world and the characters.
This will forever be my favorite Final Fantasy game and To Zanarkand will be played at my funeral. So grateful to have witnessed Distant Worlds live.
What a gem! And I love the selection of pieces! Not just the standard, mainstream pieces, but many more unique, less often heard ones, too!
Those first few notes to Zanarkand legit made my heart sink. Instantly brought up the memories. Absolutely flawless concert.
This is maybe the most effective arrangement of this music that I've ever heard. I didn't think you could make this score more beautiful, but here we are.
It’s arranged by Masashi Hamauzu and Tsutomu Narita :-)
Actually, I was missing a bit of depth and "supportive power" in there. Please don't get me wrong --- all of the orchestra members did an EXCELLENT job there... Nevertheless, as a passionate "hobby organist", I got taken away by this amazing concert and simply had to add up to it: ruclips.net/video/LOBPzFUqQR8/видео.html
Man, I dearly wish I would have been able to team up with the orchestra live and in person...
This is the best performance I've ever heard. I appreciate to WDR Funkhaus Orchestra for their incredible performance from Japan.
Thank you very much! 🤗
"A Splendid Performance" was splendidly performed
YESSS indeed
FFX will always be my favorite video game, nothing will ever surpass it. It’s such an important part of my life, and I’ll treasure the memories of both playing the game and the time of my life where I was even able to immerse myself in a story so much.
💛
I have played this game dozens of times. I have heard this music hundreds of times. And I still burst into tears at 56:33.
Me too :'(
Me too😭😭😭😭. Perfectly executed. Bring back all the memories.
Yes, so much joy, I love it.
The game's ending is BRUTAL
RPG games like Final Fantasy are some of the only games that still let the music breath so fully. It brings the stories to life. Thankful for their inspiration.
I wish I could’ve watched this concert live… Amazing performance!
Cheers from Brazil!
The soundtrack to my childhood. This is so soothing and yet so empowering at the same time.
A joy to listen to, and such care given to tracks which are usually overlooked. Never let it be said that videogames cannot be art.
I fear the day that Nobuo Uematsu passes away... The world will never be the same knowing that we will be uncapable of hearing a new score from him once more... My respects for one of the most talented musicians in history.
Klasse Spiel, klasse Soundtrack, klasse Konzert! 🎉🥰
The original recordings are iconic and nostalgic to so many. Thank you for bringing them new life!
This music is a treasure given to us. When we think of the turmoil and strife that may lie ahead, we must always hold onto hope. This is hope
When “A Splendid Performance” started, I immediately got goosebumps. Wow, what a rendition!!! Brought so much joy to me and made me reminisce about the most beautiful memories!
Thank you, that is awesome 🤗
@@WDRKlassik Hi WDR, I always come back to watch this performance and mostly "A Splendid Performance" as it's my favorite! Just curious- is there sheet music available anywhere for this and other WDR concerts? Some of the piano renditions are just outstanding... would be glad to purchase the sheets to practice it!
Hi, @alanswag4386!
The "Westdeutscher Rundfunk", as a public broadcasting company, does not sell or rent arrangements itself. If you are interested, please contact the arrangers directly. The contact details can usually be found on their websites 😊
always love listening to this. Gives me so much nostalgia
We are happy that you like it.
4:21 I was in a coffee shop running away from home when I heard the news. Our hero. Jecht. Gone, vanished into thin air
Ich war damals Live dabei. War so ein schönes Erlebnis. Einfach wundervoll 😊
Wo isch es gsi?
" You want to walk with him again ? "
" Yes ! "
" I can't promise anything but we'll do what we can. "

Thank you so much.
🥰
03:53 might just be the most beautiful version of Tidus' Theme.
Over an hour!! you're god dam right I'm listening to it all.
I think now is good time to back Spira after 18 years and meet again my good old friends.... ❤
This brings lots of memories...This is the best FF series of all time. The gameplay, storyline and graphics were on point. Zanarkand, Tidus & Yuna's Theme, Suteki da ne, and Hymne of the Fayth FF X 🥰🥰🥰
Von Anfang bis Ende wunderschön. Erinnert mich an viele schöne Tage meiner FFX Jugend
