Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
Due to the new travel advisories in Washington, Oregon, and California we have decided to cancel the rest of this trip :( - Enjoy this video, and we'll explain a little more about the cancelation on Sunday. Thanks for watching :)
Enjoyed watching your video. Be safe always, Kara & Nate. Sending lots of love 🤍🤍🤍
Ahh that sucks!! Hope it all works out 😁
Well that sucks. ☹️ Oh well, can’t wait to see where the wind blows you next! I loved seeing you guys travel to Seattle. My older brother lives there and I have never seen it so empty! Weird times.
See!!!! Time to come back to Canada!! Lol 😍 okay okay wishful thinking!!!!
Really enjoyed the part you travelled . God bless . Looking forward towards your next plan
Seriously though who else loves it when Nate makes Kara a cup of coffee in the morning!? Honestly so sweet! 😭🥺💕
I know! Right?? Everytime I see him doing so, I say that’s why they do not need anything else in their van/life!! A early hot cup of coffee and a kiss!! So in love with them!!! 🚐🗺🥰😘☕️
They have made me also want a pour over....😂
My heart melts every single time! They are such a breath of fresh air to watch! They are a whole vibe no matter what they are doing!!!
my dad does that for my mum, always thought it was adorable
The only thing that crosses my mind when I think of Port Angeles is Twilight!! And then seeing forks on sighnts just blows my little mind!!
“At first we were super bummed we had to wait then we remembered we’re in our house and we have snacks” oh Kara 😂😆
😂❤️🍿
Love the attitude!
lol
I’m 11 and some people might think it’s weird for me to be watching u guys but I just love how positive you are and how you never left traveling and covid didn’t stop you! You guys made it so far! I’m not aloud to go to public places so it’s so amazing I feel like I’m living your life’s as I watch ❤️
I also was here before 1 million and now your almost at 2 million it’s crazy 💕
Hey bunny same. I'm almost 13 now, I started watching about 2 months before their van life video's started. And it's so nice
Im 12 🤠
9 year old me watching there channel a few years ago:
This video really reminds me what I love about the US. You can just get in the car and drive... and see all different places, different climates, different cuisines. You can go from the hottest desserts to the coldest mountains. It's so incredibly beautiful and liberating and one thing about our country that is really unique.
Sadly, all of this is on hold in 2020, but it's always there, beckoning, waiting to be explored.
Fun fact: Snoqualmie Falls is the waterfall from the opening sequence of the show Twin Peaks!
Thank you! I can't believe that nobody has mentioned that Twin Peaks is a huge part of the Snoqualmie area.
And it’s where I got married🎉 it’s my favorite place ever! And they have really good breakfast
You are not flying beast so you can't give fun fact
More than just the opening sequence!!! Lots of filming all around 🤙🏼
Glad this was mentioned as a huge Twin Peaks FAN
The best thing about van life is realising that waiting for a ferry crossing equals snack time!😋😂
Taking a ferry in the Seattle area is a must! That was a good call, even with the delay.
There is something so oddly comforting to watch Nate make coffee.
this statement is almost too true
I have lived in WA state my entire life, and I have never seen Orcas while on a ferry. Ahah you have no idea how lucky that was!!
I've never been so connected to Kara than watching her Twilight fangirl moment! 🥰
OMG! THEY ARE JUST 11K SUBSCRIBERS AWAY TO HIT 2 MILLION !
CANT WAIT TO CELEBRATE!🙌🙌🙌
Its totally insane!!! Mind blowing its so much work getting to 500 I cant even imagine
Lol you definitely failed math class
They have 110k subs left

It’s 110k (100,000) but they r still pretty close so WOOHOO 🎉 🙌

THERE'S NOTHING BETTER THAN SEEING A NEW KARA AND NATE VIDEO ON A WEDNESDAY !!!
Oh Kara you totally deserved to have that Twilight tour! You are so supportive and literally a gem 💎
I don't know how you guys came into my feed, but, I'm a new subscriber. I have binge watched your videos today, and I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed them. I feel like I've been on a mini, virtual vacation. You're such a beautiful and handsome couple, with the most amazing personalities.
Thanks for such great adventures, from the comfort of my home. ☺️🌹💕
I hope everyone watches to the very end because Nate sharing his knowledge of air mass quality is hilarious.

Idk if y’all ever watched grey’s anatomy but ferry boats and Seattle omg 🥰 my whole heart in one video.
Kara and Nate are the most responsible Travel RUclipsrs. All the Travel RUclipsrs I follow resumed traveling abroad in summer 2020, except for Kara and Nate who changed their plans and are responsible enough to stay in the US. I appreciate this about them
I think they are adaptable enough to handle on the fly decisions.
I've lived in Washington my whole life, and have taken this trip down Hwy 101 a dozen times. It's so fun watching your perspective seeing how beautiful Washington is for the first time.
I got my whole family to watch you channel, I am already working on my channel so I can travel the world like you, I’m just 14 but u guys have really helped me get a new perspective on life and the world, my goal is to eventually become a marine biologist after traveling the world. Thanks a lot guys!

Yoo u guys liked it🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭. Thank you that made my day😂. U should take a look at my channel too👌🏾😅

He's like a wildlife magnet. Orcas and eagles in one video, I love this ♥️

It’s sad but we will remember 2020 a the year of interrupted plans. God bless and stay safe.
Yep. RIP my 2020 trip to Italy. One I had been waiting my entire life to go on.
it will continue on until 2021 :/
Canada for me...
my family planned a huge 2 week vacation for 3 years now, with all of our family and friend to stay at a castle in france. but cause of 2020, we had to reschedule for next spring
@@gavindombrow1413 I'm so sorry about that I hope you are being safe
I acted crazy today !😅
I set a timer to be able to watch the video the second they released it !
Because RUclips forgets to notify me for hours 😂
I love these people😅♥
Haha my favorite kind of crazy!
@@KaraandNate what's even crazier is...you replied to two of my comments!😭❤️
The view you are at looking over to Canada is the I see of Port Angeles, only reversed from Victoria, Canada. Glad you were able to experience of how beautiful it is up here.
Ferry life is WA life... reminds me of my grandma. She used to take me on the ferry every other weekend. As a kid, that was a fun treat.
I've been on the Bainbridge and the Bremerton ferries about a zillion times and never once saw an orca. This is amazing!
Wow, so Kara and Nate really did witness something rare!
the way Nate said Port Angeles, made my inner Twilight heart cringe 😭😂
Same!
Came here just for this comment.
Port Angel LESS
Anyone want to ask them to try Pyuallup and Sequim?
@@Call_Me_Gray-sha haha!
My parents where in Washington in early October, and they got to see huge orcas swim right under neath them in their kayaks. And it’s the first time whales Where spotted in that location in 40 yrs.
Saving the Orcas has become a concerted effort in Washington over the past few years. We have so much to learn about how boating, sonar, and the loss of salmon can affect the whales.
Lucky them!
Just a reminder if you get down about things breaking in your van "it's always something!". It is your home and even in a traditional home something always needs to be fixed. We just got our AC replaced and our pool heater is now on the fritz. First world problems for sure!!!
It only feels like big problems in your home bc of the size. Keep your head up and keep trucking!!!
One of the beauties of Washington is how it’s surrounded by water! I own a beach on Lopez island. (In the San Juan Islands) & when we’re there it’s truly a sight with all orca, seal, & sea lion! On our private beach it has an amazing waterfront view of the Olympic mountains, and that’s view is almost the whole island. If you even come back here it would be awesome of you to explore Lopez island, or Friday harbor & vlog it. I love your vids so much and hope you come back to Washington!
I was anticipating the twilight pun from the moment Nate mention heading up to Port Angeles lol
I feel like traveling like this is going to get really tricky. East coast I think will be pretty much off limits. In PA, you must either test negative within 72 hours before entering the commonwealth or quarantine for 14 days (quarantine, despite many thinking the contrary, means not going *anywhere* for 14 days).
Oregon is a 14 day quarantine entering into the state.
@@jamiegreenberg346 ...so is WA & CA. But who's going to stop & ask them? Guess they could go undercover.... But that would put serious squelch on their buoyant spirit. And there's always the Y.T. "police" that might report them. 😞
I never get tired of watching Nate make coffee for Kara every morning! Thank you both for your amazing content! You both inspire me with your travels! Much love from California, stay safe! x
True

You both have given me so much serotonin. I love you both and I am happy to announce that I start my new job on Friday. Thank you for the serotonin
I was literally freaking out of Joy when you visited Forks 😍😍
too bad nate didnt let her do the tour =(
@@TawnyHorton Nate said they could do the tour if she wanted. Kara is the one who decided not to do it.
Half way through our 2nd lockdown in England. It was super refreshing to see a different part of the world! You guys can find fun and adventure anywhere :) xx
The sound track choices on this video were perfect
I was born and raised in Washington. I lived north of Bellingham, which is literally at the Canadian border. I just moved to Utah a few months ago, and while living somewhere new is exciting, I miss my true home of Washington so much! Watching your trip to of the coasts, and appreciating the beauty of it all, convinces me that I will live in Washington soon enough.
This van series is insane!
Chai lovers are definitely offended

I am even more SO SORRY that life is handing you these setbacks. I was so looking forward to this trip. I know you'll find a way to keep pressing on, it's what you do, and so beautifully and joyfully. Just a tough day today and I'm venting against so much that I can't even mention. I love you more than I can say. So gratefully. This video still has me in goosebumps and I'm crying. Bah. Hugs to you, hugs to everyone else who loves you.
"It has a baby and everything"
I loved nates reaction to whales
Been home from school 5 minutes and I'm watching you guys from scotland
Greys Anatomy fans goes crazy with the ferry boats haha!
If you drive through Arcata, I graduated from Humboldt State University. If you drive through Willits, I was raised in the woods outside of town. If you drive through Berkeley, that's where I graduated from high school. If you drive through Santa Cruz, that's where I learned to surf. Have a great trip!
Woops, just saw your comment about cancelling the rest of the trip. Bummer!
@@GabrielTravelerVideos hey neighbor Gabriel, so cool to see you in this Chanel.
Woah
I love Arcata. I lived at Eureka and used to love going to the square where the farmer market and the beaches , like clam beach and trinity. Best times
I have been watching your videos for I don’t know how long, and it truly has warmed my heart watching you guys enjoy Seattle and making the most out of these dark times 💕 Much love from all of us here to you! 💕 Safe travels, stay happy and healthy 💕
I never ever comment on RUclips videos. As a native Washingtonian and a photojournalist in Seattle, it was so fun and funny to watch people who have never traveled though here. Your pronunciations and perspectives I embrace! From you thinking the water falling over Snoqualmie Falls was a lot of water...it was not. That was half of raging. I have been to every nook and cranny of this state. And yes, I have been on hundreds if not thousands of ferry rides and still have not seen Orca. BUT I have done real cool stories up close and personal with them in the San Juan Islands.
If ever in Washington, put me down in your note pad of places to experience here. I found you after your Cerro Gordo trip.
Look forward to more of your adventures.
It's beautiful seeing the emotions that nature stirs up
...Nates almost giddy with excitement 🙂🐋🌿
I am SOOOOOOOOO happy there was a twilight reference when I heard port angeles then saw the sign for forks. Omg.
YEAH, IKR?!!! I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I FOUND OUT KARA LOVED TWILIGHT TOO❤️❤️❤️
Same!
Kara & Nate!! 🤍🤍🤍
Binge-watching your videos for days now. And I must say that I enjoyed the most is your redemption trip to my home country, Philippines. Then you had Filipino food with a fellow Filipino on last week's vid. So kilig! Hehe!
Hooray! New vid from u today! 😬
From Doha with 🤍🤍🤍
The redemption trip was the best!!! We cant wait to get to the Philippines!!
The orcas you saw are likely member of the Southern Resident orca population, they are endangered by boat traffic and fish stock declines, and have a low birthrate, which threatens their capacity to recover. So the baby you saw is a little miracle!! In fact, only two new Southern Resident orca calves were recently born, and are swimming with the rest of the J pod near Washington. The mother of one of the new calves famously carried around her calf for 17 days after it died a few years ago - skeptics be gone if that's not a clear sign of mourning! She now has a chance to raise a new baby, which is BEYOND great news!! Thanks for sharing this footage with us of these beautifully complex social creatures!!
you guys think of the funnest things to do. Kara you definitely have to reed more, even though you have been to over 100 countries it will still open up your world so much.
I’m so sorry your plans got cancelled/delayed but I’m sure y’all will think of something. Your positive energy is all I need to make my day.
Positivity wins 100% of the time :)
as a lifelong PNW resident, PLEASE come back in the summer, there are sooooooo many beautiful places to see
I absolutely LOVE that you got local coffee, and not just Starbucks that’s already world known.
I was hoping you’d stop by forks while in Washington 😂 glad you did
I will never forget the morning when my son saw your IG story and told me, Kara and Nate were just at Snoqualmie Falls. I cried that I missed you because you were literally 5 minutes away!! So sorry that you have to cancel your plans, but I am sure your family will be so happy to have you home for the holidays. This is just a hiccup in life and as long as people where their masks and social distance, we can beat this virus. Keep Safe and Carry On!!
Also, opening of Twin Peaks. Go to 1:43 to see Snoqualmie Falls ( ruclips.net/video/i7d0Lm_31BE/видео.html )
Waking up to unexpected breathtaking views reminds me of the movie, Enchanted April. The British women arrived at the Italian seaside villa on a dark and rainy night. In the morning they look out their windows to the promised “wisteria and sunshine,” and more beauty than they ever could have imagined.
IM SO HAPPY THE DRONE SHOTS ARE BACK :)
Alternative Title: The Twilight Trip
I also had that Twilight phase. When I watched one for nostalgia a few months ago, my cat fell in LOVE with it. Now it's a running joke that my cat is team Edward :-P
My cat is named Rosalie after Rosalie Cullen 😋
After four and a half months I have finally caught up to your current videos! Thank you so much for getting me through this pandemic with your wonderful travel vlogs. Because of you I’ve tried so many new foods (I’d never heard of Khao Soy before and now it’s my new favorite splurge meal!), and am already making my own list of countries I plan to visit one day. My current travel goal has been to go to all 50 states before I turn 50, and I’ve already made it to 30! Thank you for restoring my travel bug! And thank you for introducing me to the world through your videos ❤️
I’ve been fighting fatigue and anxiety left over from having covid. I have been watching all of your videos. You two are so cheerful and positive. I really appreciate that. Keep up the lovely videos! I’ve been living through you guys! :)
I am almost 50 and a guy, I kinda was digging on the whole Bella tourist thing!
Woohoo RVing the PCH, or Vanning in your case, is an incredible experience!! (Edit: sad they are not able to do it now that i see their comment)
Who else has done the whole coast???
I’ve done from Victoria -> port Angeles and down to LA so pretty much the whole thing! :)

Thats the endangered southern residential orca pod and that pod swims between Canada (Victoria/Vancouver) and US. Those orca babies are miracles. You were lucky to see them. Also, much protest and work to protect them is in play right now.
I have to tell you the falls in this video are smaller than normal. But it never gets old. We live here we see it all the time
Thumbs up for Nate passing the drone flying test!!!! (Even though we basically knew he would! 😜)
Who else just loves these people :)
This video and the last have given me constant goose bumps, talking about Canada hits close to home and warms my heart. I love the drone clips! Thanks for the awesome entertaining content Kara and Nate🌻 🤍🌞 you inspire me!! 🌻🌞🤍
Im from Portland OR. I have been on the ferry multiple times to get to Victoria island canada. THe pacific Northwest really is beautiful. Sometimes I dont have as much appreciations for it as I should. Glad to see people living their lives still through these times, as I believe we should.
You guys seem to like Washington a lot. There is so much to see there, just stay longer!
Best way to wake up with a Kara and Nate notification
Agreed! Whatever country we are in we set an alarm!!
SOOOO sad to see the trip cancelled. I've lived on the west coast my whole life, and have done that trip and it's still amazing. But, maybe this isn't the best time of year to do it. Try again around June. You would NOT believe how pretty the NW is then. It stays light til 11pm! And with your guy's luck, you'll probably even get to see the Auroras!! 🥰 Love watching you guys, have a happy holiday season, and stay safe. 💕

I'm going to drop out of college, rent a converted sprinter van and take it around the country like y'all.
I wish.
Port Angeles was my first time ever in USA ( I am a seafarer and my ship docked there) and I was mesmerized by the sheer beauty if the Puget Sound. It was the prettiest port approach i've ever witnessed. This video just brought back a lot of great memories !

The fact that i live in Washington and have never seen a whale
Going back to showing Nate making morning coffee for Kara, is a wise move. It sets the mood.
It is so cute that he makes her coffee every morning and wakes her up it is adorable 🥰
@10:56 So happy to have drone footage again! It just tells a part of the story that would be difficult to describe otherwise.
oh nooo! Its the ferris wheel all over again.... just let kara do the stuff she loves! Cmon Nate!!! And you are sooo right! You definitely owe her for that bike trip!!!!
This is my response too often:
"Stupid Covid"
Same lol
Just a minor quibble. Port Angeles is not the start of Hwy 101. Yes, it's the northern-most point but the highway actually starts in Olympia. It's a beautiful drive north along Puget Sound to Port Angles and then south along the Pacific coast. I have driven every mile of 101 (at different times) and just love that road.
I love to see people that do what they love and manage to make a living while doing it.
Okay I seriously cried when you guys saw the Orca Pod! it's so cool to see what you guys think of the area
Don’t forget, a hand sanitizer with 70% or more alcohol content.
Just saying.
Lol content. Idk why that made me laugh lmao
driving in the rains is just awesome
Our country is so fortunate to have places with water.
Kara's smile just brightens up my day
if you guys ever come back through here, i’d love to show yall around olympia! i’m born and raised here and i know all the best spots :)
whoever is reading this comment may his her parents live long for 100 years ameenn
The orca’s will only pass through that area depending on the season. More likely depending on the temperature of the water as it needs to be cold. It is part of their migration route so they go back-and-forth twice a year to mate and then go back home.
