I lived with my Grandmo and Papa off and on for most of my child hood. When who ever came to pick us up from our mother would cross the Oklahoma line I could smell Oklahoma. I don't know to this day at 73 years old what it was but Oklahoma has the freshest, cleanest and safest feeling and smells in the entire USA. My husband took us all home to Oklahoma one time (not his home but mine). I was sleeping soundly and we crossed the state line. I sat up and told him "we are in Oklahoma now". When we got to my Grandmo and Papa's house Grandmo asked him if I knew when we crossed the state line. He was shocked but said yes, she knew and told me where we were. Grandmo smiled and said "she has always known when we crossed into Oklahoma. I will always love Oklahoma.

You did a great job of portraying Oklahoma in a good light!! People think we all live in huts and ride horses! You just scratched the surface of all the cool stuff Oklahoma has to offer! Y’all come back!!
So glad y'all made it to Oklahoma!! I moved here just a few years ago, and fell in love with the place. I remember everyone (and even I) thinking I had well and truly lost my marbles. I mean, who willingly moves to a state known for its tornadoes? Except you get here, and the place draws you in! I'm so glad you got to see a little piece of my state. If y'all ever do make it back this way and want a tour guide for OKC, please feel free to reach out. I'd love to show you both around a little more!
Thank you for showing the beautiful side of Oklahoma! As a transplant from California I remember when I first moved out here and would just drive around and look at the scenery and think how different it was from what I was use to, but I love it out here! The people are great upstanding folks that are willing to help other people in an instant!
Nate! The very definition of Oklahoma is ...WINDY! It slows down, but never stops ... and, yes, I know whereof I speak - I lived there for a few years...
Had to pause the video when I saw the 66 Bowl sign. That bowling alley used to be only 8 blocks away from my house growing up in OKC. I always wondered what happened this classic sign. It was so cool at night with its neon lights and each neon bordered black circle would flash on and off in a staggered pattern so it looked like it was rolling toward the pins, which would light up when hit.
Y’all are just the best!!! The bloops were hysterical per usual and the whole video just put me in a great mood! How sweet for the lady to give y’all free pie at Cattleman’s🍰 Just a super cool trip over all! So fun to see parts of America I’ve never seen!! Happy trails y’all🚐 Stay you ✌🏼
Yes definitely!! Cattleman’s steak is wonderful!! 🤤🤤 The only place I have not been is the Gathering Place in Tulsa. Pops is really fun and it is also a restaurant too. But the selection of pop is amazing! The last place they mentioned Great Salt Plains SP...you can dig for salt crystals (plan to get dirty) from April 1- Oct something.
I've been to everyplace they visited in Ok. It's a lot cooler than people think. The gathering place in Tulsa is LEGIT. When my son was 18 mo old, he'd play underneath the bigger kids. My mother has a knee replacement but she can still go down the 2 story slides with my son. They have elevators, steps or even ladders. you can spend all day there!
Come! I’m from Los Angeles Ca, and I love Tulsa. Its surprisingly really green and has gorgeous peaceful lakes. The pace is a bit slower but thats what I like. Its calm and you can actually take time to enjoy life here. The weather is PSYCHO 😬 but other than that..give it a visit
Thank you for highlighting Tulsa and The Gathering Place, there is a lot more to Oklahoma than just farmland and cowboys. The Gathering Place is worth traveling for and there are so many fun things to do in the city.
I had no idea they closed the salt plains nowadays. We used to vacation to rural OK cause we were kinda poor. Anyways ive got a bag of those mud salt crystals you wanted to dig up. Had them since the 80's, id be happy to share.
Your dessert story was just like our honeymoon! We went to a restaurant in South Carolina for lunch. We told the waitress about it being a honeymoon, and in her wonderfully deep South accent, she was like, "Awwww...your honeymoon? That is so sahweeet! Ahm gonna give y'all a free brownie!" Best and most memorable brownie we ever had. All because of encounter and kindness.
It feels so weird seeing you guys in Tulsa, my hometown, and go to places that I haven't even been before. You definitely make it seem way better than it is, from a growing up there point of view. I moved out of Oklahoma in 2017 and the gathering place wasn't there until after I left. I'm actually going up, I live in Dallas, Next month to see my parents, I might go check it out.
Yup!. I've been watching their vlogs for a while now, and the idea that there would be a concern about gas station food in the US struck me as hilarious...
As an Oklahoman myself I really enjoyed this video. But next time you come through Oklahoma again you should explore downtown OKC. There are cute shops, historic buildings and so many other places to explore. I love my state of Oklahoma!!! I also enjoy your videos they were my entertainment through the pandemic....Thank you from a fellow okie!!!!!
As someone from Oklahoma... the amount of cowboys makes sense when you learn we have more cows than people living in the state. haha. It's also been way too long since I've been to Pops!
Hey y’all. The Buc- ees post to this one of the Oklahoma trip were dear to my heart. Just wanted to let y’all know, I thoroughly enjoy your posts! You two are amazing! Godspeed!
I am an Okie born and raised in Oklahoma City. It was so cool of you guys to visit our little corner of the world! I saw that you drove through Chandler. My Grandparents had 160 Acres right outside of there that we would visit every Thanksgiving and Christmas and a whole bunch in between. They had cows and chickens and some great fishing holes. In my early years, we drove Route 66 between OKC and Chandler(passing by the round barn) hundreds of times. Thanks for passing through!
We live in a rv traveling the US. Oklahoma has by far been one of our favorite states! So cool seeing y’all go to the places I have been! You guys are the best
I love how they brought loads of soda and then they get into the van and Kara is like “we have a bottle opener right” could you imagine if Nate said no 😂😂
Me and my little sister were arching this video together (she is 3) and her favorite song that we literally listen to every time we are in the car (like today we played sit in repeat) is should’ve been a cowboy by Toby Keith! And when I tell you she lit up with joy when Kara sang it I mean she LIT UP with joy. She made me replay it so she could sing those 2 lyrics Kara sang with her. That made my day, seeing her so excited 🥺💜 thank you Kara and Nate even though you may not see this, thank you💜💕
Hey Kara and Nate if you guys come to Hawaii I suggest going to all the islands. I live on the big island and each Island has a different landscape. It’s a unique experience
I hope they go in the summer so I can maybe get the chance to meet them on vacation. I would be so nervous to say hey because they’re so great. But I love Hawaii I know some of the Hawaiian natives do not like tourist but you guys are for sure living the best life. Hope everyone is healing over there heard cases were rising
“There were real life cowboys going in that restaurant” had me laughing so hard. I was born and raised in Oklahoma, never lived anywhere else. I’m surrounded by “real life cowboys” 😂😂😂 thanks for showing off the great parts of my home state. Loved seeing your reactions ❤️

First of all I’m here early, second of all I road trip to Oklahoma every year!!! I go to like deep in the middle of nowhere where my grandmother has a house, and we stay there for around a week! Happy to see you guys enjoyed it!
I am sorry but the Salt flats are WEST not east from Tulsa. Tulsa is a cool town. Not far from the Salt Flats is an artesian spring. I doubt with Covid they let anyone use it now but it is very awesome to fill up your water jug with delicious spring water straight from the ground! Just north of you in the salt plains is Wakita with a fun little museum that shows the town how it was very much changed due to the movie "Twister" Maybe the dirt road that Google took you by is where the actual center of where maps use as a center!
Oklahoma is so beautiful I love this state. I’m telling y’all there’s something so down home about it. It’s not the Midwest, and it ain’t the south (although we lean that way imo). It’s Oklahoma. Cowboy, cattle, & farm culture makes a lot of the state feel like the old west. God bless y’all
as a born and raised oklahoman, it is awesome that people like y’all come through and show a glimpse of our great state. it shows people we don’t actually ride horses everywhere and live in teepees anymore!! (and yes people actually think this)
I gotta back your comment up! My GF works for AT&T and talks to many people from all around the country and the world sometimes. That's what she's always asked tho. If she has to ride a horse to work still and how do we just get around on our horses and not buy a car or truck lol! Apparently they think we have Indian Tribes just out in the boonies that still use bow and arrow, and you gotta be careful traveling. I don't think it's crazy these days if you watch people asking actual college kids questions about our country and history. I know 5th graders who can't count money right now and didn't know the difference between a dime and quarter it's sad they can barely spell and speak to their phones to do what they need! I will say one thing tho I love our Governor and our state. We've managed to stay quite free compared to other states. We don't have to ask the govt permission and pay them to carry a pistol to protect ourselves and our families. I feel that shows the difference between which states would try and control their citizens and which ones give power back to The People and aren't afraid of their own citizens fighting them for their freedom cuz they wouldn't try to take it in the first place! Such a secretly great state to live in!
So happy you came through my home town! I’m a character performer at The Gathering Place, and looks like you came by the day I was out as Spider-Man! I wish Spidey could’ve met you all, he would’ve been very happy. Safe travels, ya’ll!
Every time i go to cattleman’s i get either lamb fries or a steak and it is always delicious. If you ever go back through oklahoma you need to try Pete’s place. It is almost if not as good as cattleman’s
Oklahoma is awesome! I've been all over the place -- Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mexico City, Vancouver, Toronto, Nassau, Jamaica, Miami, Chicago, LA, NYC, Detroit, Houston, Dallas, etc. -- and I feel fortunate to live in Oklahoma. The people are fantastic.
i just completed at 7500 mile journey across the US and i thought about youre guys journey the whole way, stopping at all the little things i normally pass. TY LOVE THE CHANNEL
In Oklahoma that’s called the “Oklahoma Standard” we have some pretty messed up stuff that happens here but, we are willing to help a stranger most of the time.
Yeah for the soda fountain cashier not wearing a mask. So tired of the dumb mandates for this obviously over exaggerated pandemic. The states that do not force masks are definitely more woke than the rest.
I’m so excited that you highlighted the gathering Place it has been one of the most amazing projects for Tulsa we have four kids and we frequent there plus I’m a photographer so I love to go there all the time but my uncle was also in charge of all of the tree work before clearing the property enduring building the property so we are very proud I have this amazing park for Tulsa
I know this video was from 2 years ago, but as a born and raised Okie, of you come back to Oklahoma. Stop by a small town called Catoosa, just Northeast of Tulsa. Route 66 runs through it and visit the Blue Whale. The story behind it is so amazing!

Mine was their Georgia - Azerbaijan border crossing video. that was 2 years ago and now I can't imagine youtube without them!
I randomly searched “Trip to Antarctica” and their blog appeared first. Been hooked since!
I think mine was when they first went to Thailand, but have re-watched so many during the last year and they just get better the more times u watch them all 👌
I believe I've gone through all the videos at least twice this year :)

Don't you sleep? (about your name)
Yes.. But even in my dreams.. Love to repeat..😇
if we ever travel again... so happy for all of you tho!!!
First of all I’m here early, second of all I road trip to Oklahoma every year!!! I go to like deep in the middle of nowhere where my grandmother has a house, and we stay there for around a week! Happy to see you guys enjoyed it!
omg I remember when u guys reached 100k, then 500k, then 1 million! Now u guys are at 2 million! Love u guys so much! Cant wait for more adventures!!!
Just north of you in the salt plains is Wakita with a fun little museum that shows the town how it was very much changed due to the movie "Twister"
Maybe the dirt road that Google took you by is where the actual center of where maps use as a center!
I was part of the design team that worked on the landscape/hardscape for the visitor center shown at 0:59 :D
Missed a perfect opportunity to say: "We're not in Kansas anymore"
At this point, Kara and Nate feel like family.
Kara and Nate : We live in a van and take it everywhere
SpaceX: We going to Mars
Kara and Nate : Hold my Celery Soda
Ya'll come back now! Ya hear? THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO SEE AND DO. SO GLAD YOU WERE ABLE TO EXPERIENCE JUST A SMIDGE OF IT.
I used to work right across the street from Cattlemen's, so it was a little surreal seeing it again! So glad y'all enjoyed your time here! :)
We need someone to go to every Kara and Nate video and count how many times Kara says "Umph, so good." 😂
can we all agree that the morning coffee montages will never get old
*Nate hates Celery*
Soda bottle: I'm gonna change this man's whole opinion!! 😂
Lol
Awww how did I miss this.
i just completed at 7500 mile journey across the US and i thought about youre guys journey the whole way, stopping at all the little things i normally pass. TY LOVE THE CHANNEL
I loved Oklahoma! Lived there for 2 years in the 80s. I must go back with my kids.
I'm grateful you guys make the most of everywhere you visit. I feel like I would have struggled on those long, country roads lol
Kinda expecting Kara to break out singin'; "Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain."
As Coronavirus continues to make life difficult, this channel with Kara and Nate gives me hope that someday, we will be back to travelling
1:04 For real!?!?! I was in the next town over :O. I wish i could have met you! You guys are my favorite youtubers! :D
0:57 my bad not 104, i meant 0 58. oklahoma city
This makes me so happy to see!!!! I'm from Oklahoma and it warms my heart to see y'all explore!
Things I’ve learned: If my future husband doesn’t kiss me on the cheek to wake me up with a hot cup of coffee in the morning..I don’t want it
Nate is a pretty high bar when it comes to husband comparisons
In Oklahoma that’s called the “Oklahoma Standard” we have some pretty messed up stuff that happens here but, we are willing to help a stranger most of the time.
Yeah like the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921
I have to say “Nate” making Kara coffee in the morning is the place where I click 👍
it’s the sweetest thing ever 🥺
What a great video - glad you enjoyed Oklahoma and the gathering place. I grew up in Oklahoma and this brought back a lot of great memories!
I live in Oklahoma and I love when people actually see the beauty here
When you come to Minnesota. You have to explore the north shore in Duluth!!!
And come to the bottom alot of farms lakes and more so happy for you guys to come here
Yay Oklahoma!!
Yeah
Ye
Yeah for the soda fountain cashier not wearing a mask. So tired of the dumb mandates for this obviously over exaggerated pandemic. The states that do not force masks are definitely more woke than the rest.
Yes I got so excited when I saw this video come up. And when they walked into pop's because Ive been there so many times.
yay Kansas!!
Born and raised in OKC we are salt of the earth type people... Real genuine hospitality...
