I love thrifting and love the idea of making baskets of gifts - it's not something we do so much in the UK. What I would love to know is how you wrap these gifts so that they are a surprise until it is time for them to be opened. I would love to see one or two of them wrapped! 😊
Thank you! I only wrapped these for surprises if it's for my family and they'll be under the tree. On the gift baskets for friends, I used cellophane and tied it with a pretty bow. 💕

The Humane Society Thrift Store was voted the best in our city of over 90,000 and that's the one I visit most often. Between that, my crochet and other crafts I do, and the Little Free Libraries I frequent, my gift giving is pretty well set.
I generally avoid Goodwill as well. However this year most of my finds were actually from Goodwill. But I did find some really great things at some of my local thrift stores which I definitely prefer to shop from whenever possible. The humane society thrift store was where I found those amazing leather boots! Love that place! And always handmade items are fun and thoughtful as well! Thank you!
I was just thrifting for gifts yesterday! Found a Mikasa lead crystal angel, Staiger quartz crystal clock, 1930's cobalt blue pitcher, etc-all for under $18!! And all in excellent condition. You have a great eye, I'm sure all the gifts you give will be well appreciated! And, btw, I have the same vintage looking Bluetooth radio you found for your son, and I love it! I've had had for 4 yrs and use it every day. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!🎄

Great ideas! I managed 2 thrifted gifts this year. I found wine glasses with a red swirl pattern, added a tiny bottle of Prosecco to each, and put them in wine bags. My friends loved them.
Man you have some pretty 'high class' thrift stores where you live. When I go into a thrift store, I see nothing but junk! Nothing like what you've picked up!
Oh trust me, there is a lot of junk to sift through. I went to every thrift store in my two adjacent towns, multiple times over the course of a month or two for this many treasures! But it was so worth it in the end!

so I paid a visit to a newly opened charity shop in our local town centre....I found a lovely glass sweet jar..glass, absolutely perfect condition...I will wash it thoroughly dry and put carefully away..ready to filled with wrapped sweets for a gift next Christmas...I already know who will receive it! I did a little thrift shopping for gifts as well. I was able to put together an awesome gift basket for our Sunday school class gift exchange that was "stolen" multiple times.

I used to say the same thing, and though it may actually be true for you, I've realized that here, it's possible to find fun stuff, if I'm willing to go to multiple stores over the course of many weeks. And different seasons of life allow for that more than others. 💕
I'm actually in a little town in Arizona. I went to almost every thrift store in the three towns near me, multiple times. Haha. But I enjoy it so it didn't feel like a chore. 💕
Do you have the pattern for the pot holder? I am going to learn how to do this in 2025. I used to just ask my Mom for something and she could make it by just looking at it. She is gone now and I am in my late 60’s and want to learn.
