I’m so excited to share with you all (but don’t tell my kids!) a few of the thrifted gifts I’m getting them this Christmas. This year, I’ve chosen to focus on handmade and secondhand treasures that are not only beautiful but also meaningful.
In this video, I’m showing you a handmade baby scarf that I made myself (it’s so cozy and sweet!), along with some thrifted toys and clothes that I found for the little ones. For our teens, I’ve also picked out a few secondhand books-perfect for encouraging their love of reading without breaking the bank.
One of the things I’ve really focused on this year is making sure that the gifts are fair for the four girls in our household. To make things simple and balanced, I chose specific gift themes that will ensure each child gets something that suits their age, interests, and needs, while still keeping it special for each one.
I truly believe that beautiful gifts don’t have to be expensive. Whether they’re thrifted, secondhand, or handmade, the love and thought put into a gift is what makes it truly meaningful. I hope this inspires you to get creative with your own holiday shopping and consider giving thrifted and handmade gifts this year! 💖

Shopping 2nd hand is great when they were little as they got older if I needed to shop second hand we were honest and told them we didn’t have as much money but loved them just as much!
@@Susan.I I think it’s good to be honest about it, but also I’m hoping to raise my girls so that the ‘stuff’ of Christmas doesn’t matter as much as the other special traditions
Love charity shops and i agree totally your comment on customer service not usually seen in stores today. They will wrap and bag what you buy...no extra cost.

I so love all the items you showed us!!!! The dolls,clothes, etc. I wish we all had this mind set to thrift for gifts. I myself have especially thrifted devotional etc for gifts!!!! God bless you and your family!!!!
@@PamRodman thank you ! I love finding something unique in thrift stores, and then if it gets ruined in a few years time it isn’t the end of the world. I can’t imagine paying full price for things now, when I know for a few pounds I can get something just as nice or even nicer in the charity shop

Delightful. Takes me back to when my 6 children were small. I started buying small stocking stuffers in summer so it wasn’t overwhelming in December. I now do 20 stockings! My grown kids still love them, and I have a whack of grandies 🥰

I started homeschooling both my Kindergartener, and 3rd grader this year, (have a 2 year old as well). I am mostly home, trying to work here and there where I can, but realize how I want my home space to be- with less. I wish I could start over with Christmas as I have wasted so much money and time in the past years just buying gifts to have gifts when I was working full time. Now dealing with trying to get rid of all the unnecessary.
Starting fresh this year and moving forward as I declutter and only bring intentional things into our home. It is a process! I like to bake at night when the children are asleep, and your videos are a nice addition while I do so. Thank you! ❤

Did you know if you used some of your wood ash mixed with water into a paste you could scrub the glass of your wood stove clean?
