Free PO-33 Kit & Sample Pack: Turn Your PO-33 into a Lofi Drone Machine 🎧🛸🔊

- Inspired by the piano dictaphone kit I dropped a couple of weeks ago, I had the idea for another more experimental PO-33 kit. I thought, why not turn the PO-33 into a lofi drone machine? I came up with the idea of stacking various drones to create some kind of a "super stack soundscape". The first few attempts didn't go too well cause the drones I made had too much low end and hence the PO-33 was like "nah, mate, there's too much bass in this so I'm gonna give you a lot of noise and a bit of the drone you just recorded". After some tweaking, I eventually cut the lows of the drones I made in Ableton before recording them to the PO-33. Then, when I triggered multiple drones at the same time, I finally got this wonderfully somewhat dissonant lofi ambient soundscape I was looking for. So, at the heart of this kit, there are 4 20 second drones that sound really cool together. 4 20 second drones? Are you sure? That's 80 seconds, the PO-33 only has 40 seconds of sampling time, doesn't it? Exactly! But I recorded all drones at double speed and, hence, at double pitch. After recording the drones, I just pitched them down on the PO. That's it…easy as pie😁

If you're wondering how to transfer data to your @teenageengineering PO-33 or PO-133, don't worry - it's super simple.

Just download the backup file, connect your device with a 3.5mm stereo cable (use the “in” jack on the left-hand side of the PO-33 / PO-133). On your PO-33 / PO-133, press WRITE + SOUND + RECORD simultaneously (“rcu” should pop up on your screen) hit play on the transferring device. Grab a coffee and let the PO-33 / PO-133 do its thing (it’ll tell you when it’s done)!
