Great job and fantastic piece created. Very informative to the PO-33 creative process with guitar. Few others have covered this unique angle... Thanks so much!
Very nice. I picked up the PO-133 and I've been messing around with the sampler. Didn't realize I could hook it right into the Record Player, saves a lot of time and headaches. Cheers from Canada!
The KO is a dope little sampler basic but it is very capable iv been using it with the circuit rhythm I prefer making the bass lines with the KO and I love how the drums swing on it it's all quantized tho but u can chop your drums loops to make them sound unquantized that works pretty good
I wanna buy this so bad! It still record in mono huh? I have the po12 one and I love it! Just it records in mono and have to cut it up myself to pan things lol great vid man most def gonna buy now
Everytime i sample in melodic group it allways gives me melodic options and not chop options,i can only chop a sample in drum group, can you explain how you do it? Thanks, and great video 👍
I’m recording 4 bars into the melodic section, then copying the sound to a drum group, which will split the sample into 16 even chops. Watch this vid for a better explanation (its where I learnt it) ruclips.net/video/eBHcNV2nWV0/видео.html
Excellent video, very inspiring! 🦇💯☘️ One question: how do you manage the input volume when you sample via cable? Every time I try sampling via input cable the sample is not loud enough. Do I have to turn the volume of the source to max?
Sick! Are you recording the bass to the melodic section or sampling each note individually into the percussion steps? The bass riff you laid over it makes it!
He probably did it just like the first sample. Record it to a melodic slot, then copy and paste it to a drum section slot, where it will automatically chop it to 16 perfect in slices for you
Yo how did you record the bass? Was it into a separate device and then in the PO33? Wondering since you have to hold the record and and track number down when recording
Oh man I came to the comment section to look for the answer as well! It's been 7 months without a response now :C My guess is that if he didn't use any extra device to record, he used his toe to hold the record button on the PO on the floor.
@@fivethousandnine There's a neat trick where you sample the entire thing into a melodic slot, then copy it into a drum slot and it slices based on time rather than detecting silence. It's very good for slicing constant tempo samples.

ordered one of these online just because i cant't afford an Mpc 2000XL. Cant wait to get cooking on it
How is it years later ? Do you still use it alot?

Sounds awesome, I'll keep playing with my PO-33 to try and get to this level 👍👍
Thanks man, keep going and you’ll get there soon haha 👊🏼
Yo man this is sick. I just picked up a 33! Can't wait to get some beats down on it
Thanks bro, good luck!
2 years later and the PO-33 is still amazing!!! Great video, by the way!!!
Make it 5 years
@@luioskattusch3497 The PO-33 is such an amazing piece of gear that it’s pretty much timeless, right?😁 Have a good one, mate!
@@CNTRRNDM True words have een written my friend :D. You too!

I always come back to this video to get hyped and motivated to dig out my po 33... insane

Flipping Nora. Just landed on this looking for some PO-33 inspiration and it’s blown my socks off
I'm pretty late to the game, but I finally saved enough quarters to get myself one uh these... This is inspiration, thank you!
this sounds like some avalanches type shit!! soo good!!
@Billy Anakin fuck you and your bot alt. i see the same exact comment and response on so many videos. no one fall for this bullshit.
Great job love the samples and your work bless up

Great stuff , can't wait to get one
Liked that, a lot. Mine arrives in a couple days. Got a studio full of guitars and synths to sample into it. May need more than one...
Cool beat!
Dope! So so good. Congrats!
Yo man this is amazing!! Can't wait to start experimenting and using my po-33 like this :)
Thanks man, enjoy!
Great beat!
Nice work man
i only have an op-1 no po devices but from what i can tell the po can do a better job for sampling/sequencing than most phone apps
Extremely cool!
This is sickkk, good job! makes me want to buy a po33
Thanks, you defo should!
I am considering getting this thing for exactly this purpose, think you sold me here

how are you sampling bass guitar into po33?
Quality 😎
Nice vibe bredren 👍🏾
Hats off to ya....very well done.

I didn't even know this thing existed, can you perform live on it? Or is it too small?
Oh damn !!!

just got the bastl dude, the volume wasn't loud enough even all the way up on it's own
Great
Dope $hit !!!!
awesome!! was the first sample made to drums or melodic? Just wondering because it seemed like the different sounds were trimmed at different places.
Amazing
Smooth beat, what guitar piece did you sample from?
did you sample directly from the record player, or from the amp?
Lourd!
If you sample classical guitar at 45rpm, you will have more sample time & you can pitch the sample down.
Awesome job! I just got a PO 33 and I'm haveing a blast with it. I'm wondering if you sampled the recording into a melodic or drum slot?
i recommend into the melodic then into the drum so its a 16 count chopped sample
He sampmed it into a drum slot so he can chop it up to 16 sounds. From what I know you can't have more than one sound in a melodic 🎰

Hey homie nice work i have a question id like to know what type of cable i need to use to conect turntable to po 33 ko ?
Thanks man! My turntable has phono outputs (the red and white ones). I used a phono to 3.5mm stereo jack adapter that plugs straight into the po33. 👍🏼
@@andrablack6619 And if you don't get any sound, you need a phono pre-amp :)
nice video chopping; smooth sounds; you handle the po33 well..wish i could get to grips with it. did you have to do much post-prod to get the levels?
I just recorded straight out of the po33 into a zoom recorder. I listened to it through my monitor speakers to set the levels tho
What cable did you use to connect the deck bro?
RCA to stereo 3.5mm jack cable. Thanks for watching!
🔥🔥🔥
💪🏾
How is the recording quality of the samples?
Btw good beat man!
The po33 records in 8 bit, so it’s not great quality but it has a unique sound. I’d look into it a little before you get one! And cheers bro!
andrablack 8 bit? U mean the external mic?
The po33 processes audio in 8 bit, so it'll be in 8 bit whether it's through the mic or the jack input. 8 bit can sound good though!
@@andrablack6619 absolute . similar to that tetherring crunch on the sp1200
What's it use for memory? Sd card im guessing
It's got internal memory, can record up to 40 seconds of audio.

Pwrfwct, subd, gonna go buy One tomorrow.
Woooooow!!!
Wow your recorded sounds are amazing especially the bass. Did you use the PO33 KO's internal mic?
Thanks for an excellent tutorial...
Yep I used the internal mic for the bass, the sample and drums were recorded in via the 3.5mm input. Thanks for watching!
Thats what I thought.... both the direct and external mic sounds, sound amazing.
So...you held down two buttons on the KO and played the bass with your toes? Dude...impressive stuff, seriously though how’d you record and play?
