About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

I have a Blur alarm clock, which wakes me every morning to the sound of Parklife,

The fact that Damon Albarn created 2 different bands and both of them are amazing proves that he is incredible and should be treated as a worldwide treasure
Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Blur
3 Bands. The Good, The Bad, and the Queen is also really, really good.
created? you mean created band members from dust and filled them with sin and lust?
read songwriter credits before claiming Damon "created" them
Whats even more amazing, is that a 20 something year old (he's the same age as me), wrote this in the first place
Meh, he is a bit overrated. But his real big big work was the soundtrack to Ravenous.

modern pop music really killed any individual music scene from any country
@bruneiancomrade1317 No, it just went underground. More people need to realize that music exists outside of the TV and radio.
@@scottb9669but why tho? If its not considered good then why is it being played on tv's and radios? Why do I have to search harder? Shouldnt the industry promote the best that there is rather than something generic?
It’s incredible how Damon Albarm created 2 bands (Gorillaz and Blur) yet they are both still popular, famous and still going. What an amazing guy!

They filmed this at North Greenwich in front the dock workers cottages attached to the Pilot Pub. The wasteland in front of the pub became the Millennium Dome. For a long time PARK LIFE was left written on a side road. Legend is the Band drank at the pub and catered for Alex's love of cheese, so much so for 2 decades the pub had a Glass Cheese counter at the end of the bar. Of course Youngs Brewery ripped it out in a gastly gastro refit... They don't know the significance of a melodic bassline when collided with the nose notes of a well potted fromage

I know this is from ten months ago, but blur is the furthest thing from underrated. pretty much one of the biggest bands in the nineties. but you probably already know that by now ig
one of the most famous bands of the 90’s…not underrated
Blur isn’t really underrated. If you want underrated poppy alternative rock, then listen to Dinosaur Jr, and Hüsker Dü.
They're really not overrated.
Love the 90s. Music took risks. Different approaches to what a song could be. Which helped produce classics like Blur. Less commercial formula. More creativity
The difference between today's music and the 1990s is that maybe a record label decides to give you this opportunity if you get lucky then they stifle you until you want to die.
Today it doesn't matter if you are taking risks or not, if the algorithm isn't feeling it, you die. And the algorithm is nebulous and intangible unlike some AOR guy who might like your sound. It's why songs from 20-30 years ago become prominent again, the algorithm cares only about retention. Everyone is niche with no leverage except artists and bands who were popular pre-2015 or so

Oh lord I never noticed that Alex and Dave were all dressed up. He makes a fine woman
I grew up in the 90s and this video still brings a tear to my eye with how authentic it is to what Britain was like. Every class you went to the teacher would be like, "Parklife" and look like Damon Albarn. Then after school you'd dance in the street, chase the ice cream van and fuck up Phil Daniel's car. Well mint memories.

I emigrated from Britain when I was 21 and married a Frenchman. I’m going to introduce my future children to this to keep them connected to their British heritage
This song is just pure nostalgia. What I'd give to re-live the 90s again
03:16 - Only 1 Damon Albarn was hurt during the making of this video XD
