What about cutting out the patches, but instead of seeding buy a couple of rolls of sod. Then cut out round plugs the size of the bare spot and put the sod down?

Yes, this is absolutely an option! I have spaded out and plugged sod into spots like this in the past. Thanks for watching!

If you have a smaller lawn and the trivialis isn't too bad, use a plugger. Set up a small sod patch somewhere on your property. It's very handy for quickly fixing areas, and you can plug at any time of the year.

I have much too big of a lawn to try to renovate it, I just learn to deal with it but it does suck in the summer when it starts to die off....

I used glyphosate this spring. Looks like its worked pretty good so far. Got a patch of bent and poa in the front still though 😢

What was your mix rate of your Gly? How many apps did you do and how many days apart? Did it come back?

My experience - it will come back even with a total renovation. It’s likely that conditions (shade, wetness, etc) are the factors that sustain it.

Great post. This stuff sucks (Poa Trivialis). I looked up the expensive herbicide (Velocity pm) and discovered that even at that price, it does not work in KBG, as it will kill kbg. THe label says that it works in tall fescue and ryegrass however.

I haven't ventured into velocity, it's way too rich for me 😂

My side yard has a few weeds and a good amount of triv so I was planning to nuke it this fall and do a Reno. Half of it is sunny and the other half is partially shade so I’ll do a combo of TTTF and KBG. My front lawn which I just overseeded this spring is looking fabulous but I have one triv patch that is a little big that I will have to remove. Great tips tho!!!!

Great pts. Ive come to the conclusion that my lawn looks good enough where my neighbors don't know what poa triv or poa anua are. They say it looks good and thats fine😅
