Thank you very much mate 🙌🏽. Yes it takes some going at it, really quite lucky it is only a small lawn in some regard, as you know it can take a lot of time and a lot of money for them larger areas!🌱
Thank you Scott, yeah I think they would, quite honestly once I get ontop of the weed grasses the lawn looks great, but at least to my eye it sticks out like a sore thumb ! Will be nice to see how lush I can get it 😄🌱
Great video. Looking forward to see the whole process. One thing I did was got a small bit of plywood and used it as a shield, for when I was spraying close to the flower borders.
Thanks Scott ! Hopefully it all goes to plan and I start to see some yellowing next week! Yeah the board idea is spot on! I definitely should have with the amount of foliage I have around the area, hopefully it hasn’t been affected 😂. I tested the knapsack before the video and it was spraying true, so if it does hit the plants it can only be my fault 🌱
@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Sam I am pondering on doing the same as I have tried last two seasons but cannot shift poa anna and crab grass and Yorkshire fog. So I was literally thinking of doing the same yesterday! Plus I am same size as yours 50sqm
@@davel831 perfect ! To be fair yes you wouldn’t want to do the whole process in a drought but it really isn’t ever too late if you decided to do it at any point in the season 🌱 I think if it’s a pain then this is the best option you have left 💪🏽
Very interesting video, looking forward to watching the full story. It is 18.20 pm and we have had 4 seasons today 30th March. It is actually snowing very heavy in my part of Scotland as I am writing this. I'm afraid to start renovations just yet. Thanks Sam. 👍
I feel you Ray! I was out in it today and it has been exactly the same, this kill off takes around 3 weeks at least really, renos won’t begin till 2nd week of April earliest.. just hope even that isn’t too early !😩
Killing off your lawn killed the grass at the start. One year on did the seed originally in your garden prior to kill off come back as weed grasses? Thanks
😂yep, I have the same sprayer for applying Praxys etc...smoothe use however those plastic snap in clips at the bottom are always popping off as a donn it
Feel your pain, trying vertical cutting and selective hand pulling to try and slow my crabgrass this spring. Not sure I’m ready to throw a ‘grenade’ at it yet tho! Brave move
Hi David ! I’m going to do an update as soon as the monsoon stops that we seem to be getting ! Most of it is looking yellow now, the fog is taking slightly longer to turn, but as of around day 9/10 it has started to blacken off😄 Got another week just about before I go ahead and start the reno 🌱
@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance I’ve wiped the lot last night as there was low wind. so am going to copy your videos as am 2 weeks behind you, I have 100sqm and Its all weeds, fog, crab and clover. The last owner totally neglected it and am picking up the pieces.

I have the same manual reel mower as you ( the webb ) and my only gripe is i wish it was a bit heavier to make more defined stripes like you get from a petrol one. Any ideas/thoughts on how to add weight to it? Keep up the great vids!
Thank you very much for tuning in Robert! I don’t sorry, because of this I rarely bring the Webb out, maybe once per season. The only thing they will possibly help is multiple passes, double/ triple cut, that should define them so much more 😄
It’s will be a Ryegrass Fescue mix, this lawn has been overseeded with so many variants it will be nice to see what it will be like all under the same 🙌🏽🌱
@@thesugarlipslove hopefully that’s the plan it will only help, hopefully enough is applied to kill what’s actually there first, if in doubt I may top up the application next week if there is no yellowing by then 🌱
Wait… did you just spray weed killer ON YOUR ENTIRE LAWN?!?! Just to get rid of a few fog grass?!?! Oh gosh I couldn’t. Just too much work. I’m brand new to lawn care. I live in New Jersey, USA. I have a corner lot. I have a front lawn and back lawn. That would be too much work for me. I think I’ll start killing off patches first. Do you have another video for fixing patches?
Definitely ! Part of showing a full renovation for the channel more than anything 😄 I agree though, on those bigger lawns, it takes a whole lot more, time, money & patience !😂. I don’t currently but it would be much of the same process, place a bottomless box around the are or something similar, spray off the area, rake it out after a few weeks, seed and top dress 😄 that should bring it through well💪🏽🌱
Fair play to you - some real commitment to the perfect lawn. Look forward to watching it progress 👍

Here we go ! 😂

If I had a lawn like that I would never kill it off, it looks amazing to me....but I'm just a learner when it comes to lawn care.
Thank you very much Lynne ! I could have just patch repaired certain areas but this lawn has never been started from scratch, makes for good content 😄
Snap I’m doing mine this weekend if weather permits.
Nice David ! Good luck ! Hopefully we will be in prime conditions mid April 😄🌱

Sam if I kill off my lawn with round up, when can I apply total lawn pre-seed?

If you spray the whole lawn off you could add to the pre seed when you do your renovation 3 weeks+ later 😄
