    Awesome video Outlaw! I have had a ton of Poa A and Poa T in my new renovation. I used 4th millennium, titanium 2ls, raptor 3, and avenger 2. Luckily I seeded the worst area late and didn’t get a lot of growth so I have been pulling it all by hand and all the Poa plants have been small and easy to pull because it rains 5 out of 7 days. I don’t think this would be possible with a thick stand especially with the Poa T so hopefully with it being really small I got it all. I walk my renovation 2 days a week looking for this crap. I hope this anuew works it will be interesting forsure!

    Really good information. We are just getting started with the spring warmup here in Michigan, and I've got a couple ball fields in trouble because of this stuff. I too think it came with a renovation and reseeding job I did a few years ago. I used a heavy fescue mix, and no other sports fields have it, other than the ones I reseeded. But now I've got a problem, and I really hate the thought of doing them all again, plus the added expense. So you are thinking put down the Anuew, let the poa die back, and then let the fescue fill in, and possibly add seed if needed? I do aerate often and try to take care of the fields as best as possible. Thanks for your help!

    I have a better way, 1). use tenacity to turn it white. 2). i use certainty at 1/3 strength and hit the areas 3 times in 3 weeks. 3). i spread several bags of peatmoss and grass seed when the triv turns brown. My lawn is kentucky blue and short fescue and some tall fescue( which certainty kills, i dont want tall fescue anyways). Over 1/2 my lawn was poa triv when i started in the spring, now i have a couple of small patches of triv left. Nice thing is the triv stays white for like 3 weeks or more so very easy to kill off. When I used roundup it all came back

    Had a customer build a new garage and he brought in a truck load of "topsoil". I offered to reseed that area.Well fescue came up but also solid dalllasgrass too. He thought dalllasgrass came in my seed. Could never convince him it came in his "topsoil" not my seed. Later I round upped the area and reseeded what is now the best fescue area in his lawn.He never tipped or even thanked me. Told him there is not a bag of fescue in the world contaminated with dalllasgrass seed!

      I haven't personnally used in zoysia however in St. Augustine turf I was pleased with the turf color and density after application. (And of course the growth regulation). I would expect the same results in zoysia. A large number of golf courses have switched over to Anuew due to this. Note that with zoysia rates are going to be higher than in fescue. Rates range from 14.5 - 43.6 oz per acre in zoysia depending upon desired longevity, how often you plan on applying, and timing.

    Paul ... thanks for the video. I got lots of POA Annua and possibly Trivialis as well as I had lots of light green spots. Plan was to NOT seed this fall, instead use pre-emergent to prevent POA seeds germinating this winter. Well, I have lots of dead spots ion the lawn possibly from POA dying (specifically in very sunny spots). Really want to pud down good quality seed this fall after aerating. Maybe a faster way is to kill entire spots where I see POA and overseed in fall or some POA seeds will still be out there and germinate, thus, skip fall seeding and just deal with fall pre-emergent? Also, some spots in shade still have the POA live and well, so should I kill them? thanks.

      A year late to this, but for what it’s worth. I hit it with three applications of tenacity and it went paper white each time, but popped right back within 3 weeks to a month. Seemed to be stronger each time I sprayed. Unfortunately what I learned the hard way is that the ideal way to treat an oversead is exactly what poa likes and needs to thrive as well. My last resort before killing the whole lawn is to dig it out. It’s really unfortunate because my lawn was beautiful and the poa came in some topdressing soil from last fall

      Anuew is a growth regulator as is Primo however it is a different mode of action. It's absorbed through the crown and leaf of the plant whereas Primo is absorbed primarily through the roots. There is no discoloration with Anuew. When the product wears off there is no 'rebound' effect where the grass starts to grow crazy fast like happens with Primo. Poa is more sensitive then fescue and so at high rates there is a higher degree of regulation which is showing to be of benefit to let the fescue fill in.

    Can you use any brand growth regulator or should you use Anuew?

      Robert Butler it worked pretty well ... I got it out a little late ,but if you can start getting it out before the poa flowers it would be even better!

      Paul's Prime Cuts Nice! I’m excited to give it a shot. Whatever species of Poa T I have here, it flowers from late May to September, doesn’t seem to be too affected by heat, and the s*** spreads like fire. SOOOO frustrating! 🤦🏻‍♂️I’m just about ready to throw the towel in so I’m hopeful this can help. Keep it up with the great content brother, THANK YOU! 👊🏻

    So, I have a 1200 square foot bentgrass putting green that I have painstakingly built in my yard (DON'T attempt unless you're ready to spend tons of time and money on it and do it right), but Poa Annua is a huge potential problem. I have it all over my lawn, everywhere. I have zero on my bentgrass. How? Manual labor. Dig it out. That's the only way in my opinion.

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  3 года назад

      It may blend in with your low mowed green... or you got better preemergent coverage on your putting green ... I really don’t know

      I think I misunderstood your statement as a question. I would try running Pro grass or poa constrictor in the fall and winter. Then regulating the green with an Anuew/Trim it combination in the growing season and I think you would drastically cut down on your poa problem

    If this is a growth inhibitor, won't it affect the turf from growing as well?

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад +1

      John Wills yes exactly it will slow the vertical growth and send more energy to root production

      @@PaulsPrimeCuts I wonder if adding a tiny bit of colorant (green marker dye) would inhibit the product?

      @@Legendary_UA Green dye won't inhibit the product but I don't know what benefit the dye would give you. Anuew generally keeps the turf consistent in color to what it normally would be and in many cases improves the turf color.

      Anuew may be used on poa greens as a regulator. It's just applied at a much lower rate. It's all dependent on the dose.
