    I have found the most effective way of controlling POA etc is to grow grass that naturally blocks out or reduces the prevalence of POA. It's an opportunistic grass type that will find any bare areas of a lawn to grow it's seeds

    Is a growth regulator necessary in the summer months when cool season lawns growth slows down? Are you only using in during the spring time? Can this be applied in the fall on cool season grasses? Can it be applied to a lawn that has been overseeded? I'm interested in this and that's why I have many questions. Thanks

      Hello. Growth regulators can be used at any time of the growing season. During the summer when the grass is not growing as fast in the summer months in your area the benefit of a regulator is not as great. Anuew can be applied in the fall on cool season grasses and it can be applied to a lawn that has been overseeded. Great questions!

    I am the "proud" owner of POA Annua and Trivialis spots on my cool season lawn (KBG, Fescue, Rye mix). SOme suggest not to overseed in fall and just use preemergent like Dithiopyr. You must be pretty far north to still have poa try and poa A still visible Tanacity may help some with you poa A ... “ a little “ maybe try something like poa constrictor... the poa triv roundup and seed may be your only option

      @@PaulsPrimeCuts Thanks Paul. I spoke with lots, LOTS of people on this topic. Some say... forget seeding, just do pre-emergent in fall, some say use Tenacity 3-4 times and it'll clear it, some say "just burn the POA Triv and overseed heavy". I can easily use round up on POA Triv (the ligh green patches), but POA Annua is all over the place mixed in with good grass. Other than plucking it out by hand... not sure what else to do.
      Oh and also spoke with folks from SaveATree ... their approach to POA is Tenacity 3-4 times and overseed. Didn't fully solve the problem, but the guy says it clears things up a lot. And they start very early on the Tenacity to address POA issue. Like early in the season.

Do you do first application mid February or March, or based on when the ground temps get up to a certain temp? Will you use this thru the summer or is that not a good idea? What about using during the fall time to suppress other weeds as well as grassy weeds, or will it not be advised to use when overseeding. Lastly how will we know if it’s also not hindering root growth. Oh and can one use that on shrubs and bushes?

      @@carsutube - I'll help Paul out here! He's got you covered with his answers but I'll add on. No problem using Anuew through the summer if you want continued growth regulation. The GDD model on the Green Keeper app. helps to determine how often and when to apply. Basically the hotter the weather the quicker the product metabolizes and so it needs to be applied more often in the middle of them summer as compared to the spring or fall. Will improve stress tolerance of turf in hot weather. Apply when green and actively growing. Use a non-ionic surfactant for best results. Can be used when overseeding. This does not hinder root growth - Anuew shifts carbohydrates down into the roots making the plant more healthy.

    Hey Paul. Have you seen a rebound effect? I sure have and was surprised by how fast the GDD’s piled up to indicate time to respray

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад

      Paul Biel I haven’t yet... it’s not supposed to be as bad with Anuew. But it is typical with a growth regulator that the GA will pile up then when the pgr wears off 💥💥💥

    • @maltedbarley1
      @maltedbarley1 4 года назад

      Paul's Prime Cuts These PT was the first and most aggressive to outgrow the PGR. It looks best on the lawns I caught before going to seed

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад +1

      Paul Biel any poa A that I caught before seed production it knocked back to nothing. I’m seeing the PT stay smashed down within the fescue quite nicely

    I know your a huge advocate of the Carbon Earth products and wondered which of product you recommended to use this time of the year on a KBG/TTTF lawn. I was thinking of going with the Carbon X but see more videos promoting the X Green and didn’t know how to proceed.

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад

      Chad Miller for my area we are almost too late in the season for carbonX on Fescue so it would closer to XGRN time here

    • @kbgking7921
      @kbgking7921 4 года назад

      Paul's Prime Cuts so the Carbon X is too much top growth going into warmer weather? I thought the RGS and misc micro nutrients would help with warmer dryer conditions. We’re in the Cincinnati area and have been extremely cool. But if the expert says X Green that’s what I’m gonna do.

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад

      Chad Miller if it’s cool there and the grass is just getting going good you could use carbonX

    Hey man, I just overseeded my TTTF 3 weeks ago, and also have a ton of POA annua. Is Anuew a good idea, for my need seed growth? Want to kill the POA, but not hurt the baby grass

    Paul, you may have to install a traffic light for all the Barbie car traffic in the neighborhood.
    Please keep us updated on this Anuew yard throughout the summer. It's got me thinking..., but not ready to jump yet.
    I working on 1 acre yard TTTF total reno from last fall. I've been spoon feeding 0.5#N twice a month since February. Got a ton of Trivialis, and a little Anua around the edges.
