  • If you're dealing with weeds in your warm and cool season grass this spring, this video is for you. We'll show 2 awesome herbicide combinations to help get your lawn weed free.
    For warm season grass like Bermuda, Zoysia, and St. Augustine, we'll cover the Celsius and Certainty herbicide. This is a potent combo that's safe for all warm season grass other than Bahia. Celsius and Certainty kills crabgrass, spurge, nutsedge, kyllinga, and many other annoying lawn weeds.
    For cool season grass like Ryegrass, Fescue, and Kentucky Bluegrass, we'll cover Tenacity and Sedgehammer. This combination kills crabgrass, spurge, nutsedge, poa annua, and much more.
    The weeds will stop growing within 48 hours of application and within 14 days you should see them turn yellow as they start dying off. For stubborn weeds like crabgrass, a follow-up application can be done 2 - 4 weeks later if needed.

      Hi Lou. If the only weed you’re concerned about is Poa, then Certainty should be all you need. If you mix it with prodiamine, be sure to give it a day after application before watering in the pre-emergent. Best results come from applying it separately with surfactant and a foliar tip. Hope this helps.

      With those temperatures, you're likely going to get a bit of injury regardless of the herbicide you spray. I have a question, it probably doesn't apply to many but I bet there's a few of us that would like to know. The products you mentioned, how effective would they be if mixed in a pull behind sprayer? We have over 50,000 square feet of lawn, there's a lot of burmuta grass, native, and we're trying to get the clover, a little dandelion, some Poa ( we're going to use a pre-emergent this year) some surge and a few other broad leave weeds in it. We're using flagship 24-0-6 and it's over 3 bags in the pull behind spreader and it seams to be working great, maybe there's something better on those lines, that's just what was recommended by the grass guys he across the road.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  Год назад +2

      Hi Shane. Celsius and Certainty will work in a pull behind sprayer. 10 oz Celsius treats up to 2 acres while Certainty treats 1 acre when targeting Poa. Celsius and Certainty will take care of broadleaf weeds, sedges and Poa. Native grasses can be tough. You may need something like Revolver for those. Just depends on what you're trying to control.
      Celsius and Certainty: golfcourselawn.store/collections/lawn-weed-killers
      Revolver: ron-henry.com/revolver
      For fertilizers, I like Humic Max 16-0-8 over Flagship but that's really more of a preference thing. golfcourselawn.store/products/country-club-16-0-8-humic-max-and-mesa%C2%AE-by-lebanonturf-sgn-150

      @@RonHenry thanks, I really appreciate that. I will look into the revolver I've never heard of it. We're just getting started and reforming the area here, we have a ranch and we raise and train bucking bulls. we've been working on the bull enclosures and pins for the last few years and now it's yard time. I think I'm going to try the Celsius stuff first then see how the pre-emergent does for next year. If I need the Certenty stuff I'll get it next spring. Poa isn't really that big of a problem and the native heavy grass is pretty getting choked out by the burmuta. What's left is easily dug up and refilled.
