Your property is beautiful! I have Bermuda sod. I’m in NC. Sod is about a year old now and already infested with so many different kinds of weeds. Starting to get that weed with the thorns to and my kids love being barefoot outside so we are trying to get a handle on these weeds. Your videos are so helpful! Thank you and God Bless!
I'm in NC .. had a few weeds Breakthru.. Parsley Piert etc .. last week weather said 3 days of 65ish and lows 45 .. WRONG ! ended up being highs of lower 50's and lows in the the 30's .. Not a complete waste of a blanket spray but results were less than stellar ... Thanks mother nature .. and the battle continues 😂😂 As always enjoyed the great info .. Take care
I have sod that has been here for two years now. The first year it turned green. The second year it did not grow just the different weeds found in this area, nor did it turn as green. It actually started drying up to where you could see the green nylon used to hold it together. But I did notice that for a three mile radius or more most lawns appears to look the same. I’m now considering hauling in topsoil from another area that I’m more familiar about what grows there. It’s like two county’s away from here. I’m finding out that this was once swamp land, but the contractor’s haul dirt these large pits nearby. I need a miracle.

So I’m a new home owner here in Georgia. We have Bermuda. We have Paloma and henbit weeds. It’s been really rainy the last month but I see I need to do the pre emergent. My question is do I have to wait for the soil to dry, AND should I pull the henbit first BEFORE the pre- emergent? Thanks for the lawn guide!!
Hi there. I have Bermuda grass in DFW and have a few sections of my front yard that has high points or mounds. Yard is one year old. In early June, I plan to lay down sand to smooth out low points once we have green up, but these mounds stick up above the rest, and get scalped when I mow at 2 inches. Any tips for lowering the mounds of dirt? Best time of year to do that? I have 3 that are about a foot in circumference with not much grass on top…. Probably from uneven lot when builder put down sod last spring. Open to tips from Doc and the community! Thanks in advance!
I’ve got a lot of weeds and poa annua in my Bermuda here in SE VA. Should I kill the weeds before I lay down my PE? Earlier today I sprayed Image on my lawn.
Much like last year, I believe it was the 28th of Feb, we had an early warm spell. The rain scheduled was going to be a long stretch like this year. I put out my Pre-Emergent last Tuesday looking at the weather temp coming up. Since it was going to rain most of those days, and we had a week of dry spell. My lawn temp is running around 57 degrees already and some bermuda is starting, but mostly the poa. Hopefully it works out well for me like last year. Otherwise I just wasted a bunch of Pre-Emergent.
I’m in north Alabama. We have new sod that was laid dormant. Starting to see some weeds coming through. You’ve told me before to not do anything to new sod the 1st season. Do I let the weeds stay or treat them with something?
Can't wait to see more on the EcoFlow Ultra. The portable part is nice too as you can quickly run it over to the beach house after a hurricane, then recharge from whatever solar might be around.

I have Bermuda grass and even though I put two different pre emergents down I still get weeds, especially Poa Anna and it’s frustrating, am I doing something wrong? Winter is the worst. It's pretty common to battle it every year. (We had to) Wind, birds, etc, can bring in new seeds. Also, POA doesn't need deep roots. Do your best and possibly adjust the timing of the winter PE app. Then treat it late winter to kill it as needed.
