Thanks for the demo. I've been back and forth on which radio to get but I'm swinging towards the Lincoln II+ thanks to folks like you. That was very helpful.
I am so glad that you enjoyed my video. Check out my video on the SOLAR CON A-99. The best advice I can give you is keep everything simple. This radio will perform great without a boot but a boot will help. I recommend a RM ITALY. They are not to expensive but work good. Let me know how you make out with your purchase. 73S Marc
@@marcouellet1420 Thanks! Yeah I sought out your video on the antenna. I live on some acreage in the coastal plains of NC so I'll probably go with a beam of some sort on a tower. It's radio no-man's-land down here.
I recently got back into CB and GMRS, On my CB when I pick up a lot of skip I hear other operators use numbers as call signs like 108 etc.... Where does this come from, a CB Ham club member number?
What do you use for antenna if I may ask? I’ve been searching a few days, and all I see online for antenna is MOBILE quad band antennas. I ordered my radio via Amazon, with a 13.8v/30a power box. Its all coming Friday, but no antenna for it yet. My two HT’s run on short antennas. I’m not at all opposed to an indoor antenna config, but would like as n approp. 10.12/2/70cm band set antenna recommendendation. What IS everyone RUNNING???
Hey Marc nice video am looking into the Lincoln 2 myself but being new to ham radios and have not yet got my license would I be able to dial the cb band down to 4 watts or below once I were to do the modifications in order to talk legally until I receive my certification can't seem to find a answer to my question anywhere I've looked so far any information would be greatly appreciated Thank you
Hey BearHaven First of all I am very happy to see that your getting into this great hobby. Their is many things to learn. This radio is amazing. I will go from 4 watts to 10 watts on a.m. and 4 watts to 28 watts roughly on side band according to my meter. Yes you will be able to dial the cb band down to 4 watts. I was talking from Ontario, Canada to California on 4 watts side band. Check out my video on my antenna solarcon A99 set up. Keep in touch 73s.
@marcouellet1420 Thanks so much for the much needed information I'm definitely going to consider the Lincoln 2+ as my first radio for the price don't think I can go wrong especially if I can grab it on a discount Thank you again and take care
I’ve had mine for about a year now ,, it’s a great radio . I had The Radio Garage set it up for me . He done a great job . But I did have to go into the engineering menu and fine tune adjust to LSB , finally after a year I got tired of off freq complaints and hearing myself off frequency on DX videogates on RUclips .. did some research vis Google and RUclips, and found a video that help me solve the issue yesterday. My first DX contact 5 minutes after adjusting it wanted to know what kind of radio I was on because he was so impressed with the audio quality. I love these radios , but it’s a shame there so off frequency from the factory . It was worse before my technician did his alignment. But like a lot of techs he didn’t mess with the engineer menu because he assumed it was fine . But it was just off enough to be annoying
Hey Dallas-Rife When I receive this radio it work perfect from the get go. I am using a solarcon.A99 at 36 feet. For my small lot size is the perfect set up. Check out my video on my antenna set up. Cheers and 73s
i hate when guys with $5000 rigs tell you your 300 cycles off....its good to know but bad to constantly bash a new guys head about this...kills the interest in my opinion for the newer guys...if you can hear me...lets talk... THATS THE HOBBY ! also why you have "rit" controls. JUST MY OPINION
@@slmthebeast302 Yes Sir I often tell them to twist the clarifier , that’s why they put it on there ! I’ve recently just gave up on it for SSB , it’s an AM radio for now and I use my two Yaesu’s for 11 meter SSB now . I tried to avoid that but just no getting around it
this is coming to you after about a year, so maybe you've learned a little about the lincoln since. you should'nt run it with your mic gain all the way up with the, with the rf power also all the way up. it tends to start clipping. I tend to run mine with the rf power at about 3/4 and mic gain between 1/2 and 3/4. every radio is a little different, and mine has had some work done to it, but I think your results might be a little better if you start with those settings.
Nice radio, amazing you could talk to someone in Texas! I'm from Ontario too
Beautiful radios, I like the green lighting myself.
