İ have a collection of President radios. A President Lincoln II+ a President MCKinley a President George II and a President Washington with ACMD901 fan kits for cooling. İ highly recommend President amateur radios.
Oh nice. I only kept my Jackson, as I am a little bit old school. We replace all the capacitors and now it runs like new. I sold the Lincoln 2 plus. I can’t wait to get my hands on the new Washington.
I could install an antenna like yours, especially that boomerang. My issue is that the radio causes interference inside the house. The only safe power is 5w. When I push more power, the RF causes a very loud noise and my GFCI outlets go off. 😢 I’ll try to call you tomorrow on our zello channel so we can talk more about it.

I keep hearing mixed reviews on this radio, could those with bad experience be doing something wrong or does some of the radio’s do better than some of the others? I’m really wanting this radio.
I want to say thank you first for watching and I will be honest with you my friend. This radio can do 50 watts. Anywhere you use this radio, it will do good. It is really a talker and very good for dx , I don't see how people would have negative views for this radio. If they tried to make a contact on channel 6 or 28 were people are using kilowatts, then of course they are not going to make it thru the pile. On any other channel this radio performs really well. I have made other videos with this same radio making long distance contacts. So you can see for yourself, how this radio performs. The only "bad" thing for me is the receiver. It can be noisy from time to time, making it hard to understand what the other person is saying. Other than that, it performs great..!!! It is great both for everyday use, when travelling and for dx.
I use both the Lincoln 2 plus and the older lincoln..... It's a good radio but it does benefit from. An external speaker..... I can switch from my lincoln 2 plus to my older lincoln and the person I am speaking to hears very little difference..... But the receive audio sounds better on the older lincoln.... The signal is no difference just the audio tone...... There is two main advantages of the new lincoln 2 plus over the older lincoln.... The new radio you can adjust the rf power on all mods.... On the older lincoln you can only adjust it on am/fm but not on ssb if you want to run an amplifier on ssb on the older lincoln you need to open the radio and reduce it inside the radio via the acl control pot..... The second advantage is on the old lincoln if your mobile and use the mic up down buttons the radio reverts to the 00 numbers the new lincoln it will change the frequency by ten on the mic up down buttons... So if your on 555.... It will go 565 575 585 ect..... The older lincoln will go 555 560 570 580 etc so you then have to shift the span back then go back to the 5kz...... Not handy when driving..... Most of the problems are voiced by people who have owned the older lincoln and are not happy with the speaker tone on the new lincoln compared to the older one..... Personally I love both radios you can see both in use on my channel. If you like to see both in action 😊
This President Lincoln 2 Plus, has many issues, falling short as a radio for Amateur Radio ! CW mode in transmit is nearly impossible ! Loses the first character ! Receiver distorts on strong receive signals ! Seems President did only enough to get these radios certified as 10/12 meter radios, to fly under the radar, to get them into the States ! Shameful ! Guessing, since conversion is easy to modify for C.B. band, thats the market they are designed for ? The early models, though basic, were much better, IMOH !
I agree with you 100%. They just came out with the George FCC and the George 2 (for export only and expandable channels). The George fcc is not expandable. Both radios have NRC (noise reduction circuit), similar to the new Anytone quad 5, that has like a DSP circuit. I guess they are correcting the issue on the newer radios.
@@ontariocbclub No sense in beating a Dead Horse, but I read where President was well aware of a number of problems, but did nothing to correct them before releasing the latest version ! Guess all we can do, is vote with our money ? Sadly.....they already got my vote !! Lesson learned !

This radio is very cool. I have so much trouble to operate from home that I’m afraid to buy another one not be able to use it.
Why, can't you operate from home? No room for the antenna?
