My radio that I bought this month was the same way. I had a lot of corrosion on the rf shields also.

No sir, I don’t clear coat the boards at all, that was factory. Now, what you are seeing on your board is just remnants from flux burn off which is common and every radio differs, best thing to do is use some acetone(not much) and do a good Board cleaning. Keep up the cool channel sir. 73

@@generalingwer4341 the reason I say that is because the solder points look to be a different color as well as potentially a larger amount on each contact point at least that's the way it looks in the video

    As to any,
    " Clear Coat ",
I'm guessing it depends where the radio is made !
Vietnam or China, as I understand !
Too I read where Uniden is still involved with President !

You laughed when you said "you take it apart, even if its brand new".l do the same thing before it gets used for the first time.l have seen pretty large pieces of loose solder inside brand new equipment.

Thank u for comment. nice to hear im not the only one who makes sense lol.you would be amazed how much junk floats around in new stuff, solder sphals ,short pieces of solder, leads ive seen it all.the new thing has been skinned wire on rf transformers if ur looking at a rm italy.it pays to be a good "detective"

When the lights were off and we were looking at the sideband signal on that oscilloscope everything was perfect. When the lights came on, you had obviously adjusted the power output on the sideband, and it looked terrible.
    Should’ve left it alone

I want more led solder ..
    They destroy working on radios
with led free crap solder feed through connections should be ok united to pull section only.
I like radios compact size ..
But without turning you to the max the radio is ok. I had a issue with styrker 955 it went off to hot soldering station land have RX fixed. What's your thoughts on anytime 6666n all mode 10 meter

I suspect that the quad 6 maybe a little better than the lincoln.likely for about three reasons.lincoln has noisy high pitched receiver and channel selector issues...

It's not clear coded that is a conformal coding that's put on by the manufacturer
