Tour Divide 2023 | Podium Finish | Part 2

- Picking up after a horrible night spent dragging a heavy bike through thick mud in the Great Basin of Wyoming, part 2 is a look into the second 2,200km of my Tour Divide ride. In Colorado and New Mexico I decide to limit my sleeping routine in order to move up the leader board but the heat of New Mexico certainly takes it's toll on my progress! Cheers

The best divide videos ever done. So real, nothing held back. Thanks Joe.
You really dug deep in the last few days. You talking to the camera almost seems like a bit of reflection time, giving you a chance to express what’s going on and justify stopping for a sleep, filling up with water, or stopping for a proper meal. Some real ups and downs, building mental robustness and learning a lot about yourself and your body.
The Richie McCaw of bikepacking
3rd place, rookie attempt and filmed it to share!!! Next level Awesome!!!! 👍👍
JOE I AM IMPRESSED WITH THE GREAT COVERAGE YOU GAVE US ON THE TOUR DIVIDE 2023, {BEAUTIFUL). YOU SAID AT THE END OF THE VIDEO HERE IS THESE LEGENDS, AFTER WATCHING YOUR COVERAGE OF RACING THE TOUR DIVIDE , THATS WHAT YOU ARE ( A LEGEND) WELL DONE........
That level of distance per day is hard enough to do on the road day in day out. Let alone on rocky paths, through mud and a tremendous amount of climbing. That was awesome, Joe, I really don't know how you did it. Superhuman tenacious effort. Absolute legend!
Great video Joe, had been waiting eagerly for part 2. Such determination to stick to your game plan and push to the end. Cheers for getting the camera out and bringing us along.
So *whistle* inspiring to watch this Joe. Thank you so so much for making the effort to capture your experience so fully & honestly while racing (!!! that in itself is, like, so f’ing impressive) - and to put these videos together for us after - you really do such an incredible job bringing this to life. And man congrats on an incredible result - coming in w/ that time despite the Garmin maps issue at the start and all the leg/knee/foot challenges you dealt with is so ridiculously amazing 🍾
I really struggled with that Grants to Silver city section too this year. Came so close to dying of dehydration I had to spend the day recovering in Silver City before the finale.
Absolutely phenomenal!
Big big thank to let us be part of this crazy Journey. Amazing stuff and you are the Greatesd!!!
"...oh, I've heard of that. That must be the biggie. I'll do that." Love it! And a good nudge it was indeed. Another 12 months of pedalling, a few bike setup mods, and you'll be one of those wild dogs at the front next time.
Thanks for the fine video.
Great job riding and documenting young fella!
What a beast! These videos are epic, even for people with no comprehension or desire to do a race like that it’s awesome insight. The editing was top shelf. The raw feedback in the moment - wow. Love to see a reflection video once time to process it all.
Joe. That was absolutely bloody fantastic. You are a hero. C
Man! I hope you're going to do it again. Those few, but major issues, fixed would transform things. Shoes, Garmin etc. Such an awesome performance and these videos are perfect! Great job Joe
2024 Trans Continental ? You know you want to😂 Awesome effort Joe.
Absolutely sick 🤟
Wow, best Tour Divide race vid ever, thank you so much for sharing it with us.
So so impressive! These videos are worthy of being in a mountain film festival. Loved it all, hoping you’ll do something epic again soon so we can all enjoy another video 🎉
really enjoyed the videos. nice to see some honesty on you tube. lovely the end. cheers
What a ride! It's gr8 to have insights from a rider of your caliber. I think, its cool when a race or ride make you, a better YOU!👍
Best TD video on YT. Honest, brutal, epic. Well ridden Joe
Fuck🔔 YES!! Congratulations (again), such an awesome watch
Really enjoyed this, makes me want to go back next year and push harder. That section from Abiquiu to Cuba, I did it with 2L of water, I thought I was going to die...
Wow! Nothing short of superb.
Thanks for taking us alone, great stuff
Congrats and thank you for taking the time to document your journey!
Awesome well done big achievement. Loved the video been waiting for part two . Now will wait for your next adventure you are such an inspiration.

All day life has conspired against me but at last I've found the time to give your herculean efforts the time they deserve. Inspirational fella.
Awesome .. congratulations what a mammoth effort…
awesome dude
Congratulations ‼️ 🎉 🍾🥂 Loved 🩷 your video. Nice job taking the people of the TubeOsphere along with you. Eventually I’m going to ride this but I’m older and not a racer. Just completing it will suffice. First I plan a coast to coast US ride in at least 2 segments, maybe 3. I plan to film it when I go. First I have a total shoulder replacement coming up then I will be allowed to bike 🚵♀️ again. Please keep sharing your races and adventures. You’re doing a really good job. 👍☮️🌞🚴🩵
Thanks for taking us with you. Often self filmed things can be boring, but I was engaged and cheering for you the whole way through both parts.
Just found your brilliant videos - fantastic to watch and experience. Thanks for sharing. It's made me want to attempt the TA here in NZ. Thanks for the motivation!
Thank you for a truly inspirational ride and insight into what makes up a gruelling marathon event. Sleep deprivation and the ability to suffer are obviously two key ingredients into a successful finish. Maps would be a good addition to the next attempt :) Awesome effort and forti!
That’s what the word “awesome “ was meant to be used for. Bloody awesome effort!
i don't know how you do it, i've had some days with just a few hours sleep and i don't perform so well. well done mate.
Bloody awesome Joe - like everyone else, was eagerly awaiting Part 2! Well done Kiwi!!
Epic CHAPEAU !thanks for posting.

Thank you. Trully compelling video.
Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Little bit of insights on the challenge and reflection at the end is quite the story. Plus seeing the highs and lows just in your video show how far you dug and effort you put into this. Very cool and congratulations!!

Loved following your journey but most if all I loved the last few km the introspective words of why you do this. Thanks so much for sharing your tour divide with the world.❤
Bloody good effort Joe!
Nice one Joe. You really don’t have a clue what you are going through watching the dots.?It’s good to see it put in context. Ride on bro!
Congrats 🎉
This is what "epic" should be reserved for. Great story-telling, philosophy on the home stretch, and insights to the experience made this so watchable. Surely next year's TCR has to be on your radar now? Thanks so much for sharing this experience - much appreciated!
Bloody epic Bro true KIWI grit at its best Chur Bro 💪

I was following you along the way on the computer screen, this has joined those dots nicely. Epic effort dude 👊🤙
Congrats on an amazing accomplishment. You have to be an incredible athlete to either win or finish on the podium in this event. Spectacular footage. Thanks so much for sharing your journey. Also, very well stated on why you compete in such an arduous event. You will have lots of tales of adventure to inspire future generations...🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
Incredible journey Joe and what an effort. Thanks for the vids, they're a real insight into what it takes!
Well done Joe. Looking at the end stats, actually shorter than last year's TCR for me and similar elevation. Took me much longer though and that was on the road, you've certainly got bags of energy and positivity to keeping on pushing. So I guess the big question is what's up next?
I have an entire video devoted to the TCR on my channel if you care for an insight.
Thanks for the cool video showing us your journey and scenery. Congratulations on 3rd! Chapeau.
Legend!
Yeah, boi, you give em a go, Joe! It's such a good watch. Greatful for your sharing.
