Joe, amazing and humbling. You are truly a machine! Now, if only you and Mark Beaumont could organise something together and get Netflix to pay for it .... call it Ride to Survive 😁
Incredible. Its one thing to accomplish this thing, but your optimism and upbeat attitude throughout is inspiring. I love these videos you publish - great for the sport, and great profile of the race and you. Congrats and thank you!
That Tararua Coffee Choc hit is damn good, I can smash one after a ride but not during haha! Amazing effort but props for being able to record it and making such a watchable video.
Just wow Joe, I saw you biking up my street in Tākaka, followed by dozens of other fit looking people, and I’ve been hooked on dot watching everyone’s race and your channel ever since. Thanks for sharing your journey!
So f*ing inspiring Joe - congrats! And to achieve that while also capturing such amazing footage AND then to edit & get this video out so quickly thereafter - I mean, wow.
Congratulations on an awesome ride. Only last week we rode through Oturehua and stayed at the Crows nest. Bill told us about this crazy bugger who rode in late and left early and made it to Slope Point that day. You were that crazy bugger..Great video. Thanks very much.
I've been walking the TA trail, was great to see you on it a few times during your ride. Congratulations on finishing first and with a new course record.
Awesome ride and inspirational. Is there going to be a gear review? Keen to know how the wide shoes went (from another wide footed person!), as well as the rest of the kit
JOE WE NEED OUR FEET TO KEEP RIDING THOSE BIKES LOL......A GOOD DIET KEEPS THOSE FEET HEALTHY, CALCIUM, MAGNESIUM, OMEGA 3. AND A GOOD LOTION CHEMICAL FREE WORKS TOO. I AM GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING MYSELF RIGHT NOW . TAKE CARE... KEEP THE AWESOME VIDEOS COMING.....
Congratulations on the win, and to Rufus for second. Good prep and good realistic, achievable (if hard) plan. Great scenery, a real insight into New Zealand for us that have never visited. How was the carry system from Restrap? Did I hear right that that was called Bollock Buster Hill before you caught up with Rufus the first time? 🤪If it wasn’t it should have been 😂
Yeh, it's pretty easy once its all loaded up on the Garmin you just follow the red line and can't go too wrong, gets hard at night time on single track or in random paddocks etc though
Why’s it called that? Te wai pounamu, more or less “greenstone rivers” is the west coast. Cool ride though. Would be great if it was through the molesworth etc gravel to Hanmer. Start in the sounds.
Do you have any advice for someone that has been overweight for a couple of years now and does not have an ounce of fitness that wants to get into doing something like this in the future?
Sensational ride and footage. Good to see Relentless Rufus making you work for it.
Awesome ride. I was dot watching the whole way, going about my normal life heading off to work and every time I looked you were moving. Epic work Joe!
Absolutely smashed out that course Joe! Well done! As always, the video footage and editing is brilliant!
