Gday from New Zealand. I binged watched you're NZ mountain biking and bought a mountain bike during the week, nothing special. I'm still just a novice. thank you and all you're extreme biking commuinty. Keep inspiring
Gday!!! Woah that is absolutely awesome! Very excited for you!!! Two wheels offer so much from freedom to a rad community of people! Welcome!! Hope you have a blast! Stoked you enjoyed the content, and enjoy the new bike!! 😍
Katy, you're not one to set a small challenge! I finally caught up with watching your video. That was a great effort and adventure. A friend of mine has mentioned this trail to me. I wish my knees could last that journey in one day. 🤘🤘🤟
Epic ride!! It’s funny how quickly the car pops out of nowhere around that curve 😂. It’s like you’re looking forward to it for so long and it’s just there right in front of you suddenly. Happy to see you made it!
What a ride Katy, and at speed, negotiating rocks, turns, and steps. You nailed it, I was looking out for Hundred-and-thousand-acre flats, up high, always wanted to spend a month or so up there, Cameras and all. Roll on, Glenorchy, Greenstone next. Congrats.....Arohanui........
Stairs are now bypassed by a rideable section of trail (always part of t plan) was up @Specimens t other day for a lunch-ride + spoke to several coming thru who’d ridden it.
I've been following your channel recently. Love the channel, love your adventures, love your honesty. Keep it up. As a kiwi living in the UK, I watched this vid and thought 'Please remind me, why am I here?!!!' :D
First time I see you and I have enjoyed the ride and the views. Wish I could be there too. I am a mountain biker as well. And with all due respect, you are a beautiful woman.
Like you we have been waiting for this video to come out. Definitely didn’t disappoint. Brilliant for sure. Love to know what adventure Katy is training up for right now.
Standing the bike on It's rear wheel might have been easier. Insane trip. Never managed to complete this one..saw the start. It's a place I'll return to for sure. Thanks for sharing the adventures
Nice video, well done. In respect of the distance, the correct distance is 85km, Garmins etc under-read by 10-15% in that type of riding, GPS being a series of straight lines whereas the track winds its way through the bush. Elevation readings can be a way off too, for different reasons.
Long day! I also rode solo on my time on the old ghost road almost a decade ago. I opt'd for the more fun focused heli lift and descent down your first climb. The pilot said it would take hours for me to get back down... I think it took a little under an hour with stops for photos lol. My tip to you is, pop your bike up on its back wheel for walking a lot of stairs, much easier and quick.
What a legend. I have not done this ride yet and to be honest it makes me nervous. Certainly wouldn't attempt in one day. I assume you are well prepared but I carry a Garmin in Reach mini just in case I need to be rescued.
Terrific vid, well done. Awesome track aye, like many, I took 2 days, overnighting at Ghost Lake Hut. Out of curiosity, what bike are you on? Loving your vids while im laid up with a broken leg. Making me amped to get back on the bike.
The track has several amazing huts and stunning scenery. Why anyone would rush through in one day is beyond my understanding. It's also a tramping track so going through quickly means scaring the living daylights out of them.
Absolutely agree! Next time I’ll hopefully have more time off work to enjoy it fully! Yeah I was vigilant for trampers as I’ve been surprised by bikers when tramping on other shared trails before and got quite a fright!!
What a trail! Thanks for taking us along. Love the presentation, love the attitude. Looking forward to your next adventure.

One of the best days, if not the best day I've ever had on a bike !
A re-run is definitely overdue 😁

Wow, what a place!😍
That looks awesome! The Old Ghost road is definitely on my bucket list. You should come over to Tasmania. We have a few great epic rides.

Thank you! Aw breath taking hey!
I rode it over 3 days and that was fine by me. Good work
Lush, I’m looking forward to taking a bit longer next time. 3 days would have been bliss 😍
Lovely ride. The place to be. One of my wishes is to ride and be loved by someone like you. Sending good vibes to you. 🌠

great ride review, i live in murch
Gotta go back there. Might have to plan for a Kahurangi 500 with the grom
Oooft ya, that would be a great mission! 😍
It would be so awesome if DOC would allow Mountain Bikes on some of the North Island Tracks too.
wow amazing, u need to put more info
We did this in a day then did heaphy track good weekend
Sick, that sounds like a great weekend!! I’m still to do the Heaphy, looking forward to it!
WOW, are you not scared on your own if you have a nasty fall? Also is the track easy to follow, I get lost so easily? 👀👀
Woww
good to see theres still zero health and safety along the Ridgeline :)
Surprised you doubt yourself, perhaps the Paparoa put you off?
Big tough day but done by amateurs like us no problem
