Just watched this with my 10 and 8 year old sons. Super inspiring! My 8 year old just started riding his bike last weekend (I know he's a bit old, but he wasn't interested until now). Greetings from Brooklyn!
Big thanks for your generous contribution mate!! I hope the kids enjoyed the film and that you guys can get out together and enjoy the trail adventures too!
You’re a legend Jack. I love that you stopped off at the local communities on your way back and inspired so many youngsters. I wish I had had an encounter like that when I was a youngster. I got into cycling in my mid 50’s and now at 63 am finding motivation to keep on pedalling from folks like you. Thank you. 👏🏽💪🏽👊🏽
Chapeau, Jack. What an achievement! I'm doing my furthest ever ride in a few weeks, 150 miles across the UK. I have been dreading it but after watching this, I'm convinced I have the strength to dig deep & do it.
Great adventure mate. You are one reason I took cycling more seriously and after my mom’s death I got into triathlon. Sports really is the best therapy and suffering together with others creates a special kind of bond
I appreciate it mate and so stoked to hear that you’ve found the sport helps ❤️❤️ Sorry to hear about the passing of your mum. Hope you’re doing well mate!
Outstanding effort Jack, you really pushed the boundaries of what the body can accomplish. Can't wait to attempt the trail myself but planning on getting far more sleep in my effort! Keep up the great work 👍
As a fellow West Australian who has ridden lots of those trails and been out on the bike in our dust and heat I cannot imagine how absolutely hard core this achievement is - Jack this is superhuman and absolutely inspiring!
Really appreciate it! It was a hard old slog, but knowing it would help to inspire others made it all the more important to keep trucking on! Hope you’re managing to enjoy some time on the trails this winter 🙌🏽
great story, great effort...and obviously completely mad. I think whatever we ride, we always go through some of the same thing - the dip, the last part going on and on etc. whether its 100km or a 1000km..... great inspiration.
Absolutely loved working with you on this project Jack. An epic journey. A gritty test with every obstacle you can imagine and more. And a social cause that brings a difference to the community. I still remember the way those kids faces lit up when you spoke with them about achieving their dreams. Amazing work mate - we love working with you!
Was a pleasure mate. So good to team up again and work on this project. Love your professionalism and easy going nature. Can’t wait for the next adventure together!! Just too bloody many to choose from!!!
Jack you’re truly inspirational. I have been waiting for over 5 months for this vid. I rode 20 km of the trail out of Walpole at Xmas and it was a great experience. To then visit the schools after was special. I could be wrong at 22:33 into the vid, was that a quick visit to the boys at Scotch College. If so, I’m sure that was special to you? Onwards to the next ride Jack. Thank you for sharing your life experiences with us! 👊
Thanks so much for the great response 🙏🏽 it really is an epic trip right?! You’re spot on, Scotch was my old school so was great to go back and chat with the boys 😁
@@jackultracyclistofficial easy picking Scotch College, my son graduated 2010 in Brisbane House. Repped Australia in Road & Track Cycling. They certainly have a successful presence on the World Stage. Keep on pedalling Jack you are changing lives. 🏆
I was on the trail 2 weeks prior Jack and it was bloody hot. Not sure how you did what you did in that heat, time and sleep debt. Beast mode! Congrats mate.
I am an avid cyclist and bikepacker but Ultra distance videos usually turn me off, not yours. The humility and down to earth nature of your personality really drew in and made your achievement relatable. That and the fact it was to help raise awareness for a good cause has turned me into a fan. Congratulations from a new subscriber
That’s nuts! 😂 Mind blowing effort mate! The Munda Biddi is a bucket list item for most of us cyclists, but you’ve taken it to the next level! Well done mate 👏👏👏
So Inspiring, I have been waiting to watch this since you completed it and it was a great insight into what you went through. Well done on achieving yet another incredible goal and well done team on capturing it on video!
Great inspiring video Jack. Well done on an epic ride. Perfect viewing timing for me as I will aiming to run across the Simpson Desert at the end of the month. Thx for the inspiration
Amazing ride! I first heard about your record while riding the Munda Biddi a couple of months ago. Given our MUCH longer itinerary, it sounded like an impossibly fast time. Great to see how you did it and the commitment and effort it took.
I did my first everesting on a bike yesterday, 20 hours, (i've done multiple on foot before), and jeez my butt hurts😂 I really enjoyed it though, mainly mashing loads of food in my mouth though🤑 your vids helped me prepare mentally
Congrats!! How did you find it?! How long does a foot Everest take?! My knees feel sore just thinking about it 😂😂 Stoked the vids helped you to prepare 😁🤘🏽
Well done Jack, awesome achievement. Given it’s a record I’m intrigued why you haven’t released Strava or any public info on your ride? Would be good to see.
Cheers Brett. It’s unfortunate that the Garmin I was using died right towards the end of the ride and I had to revert to using the phone for nav. We believe it was due to the spikes and troughs of electricity from the dynamo over two days of riding. The Garmin inreach data was used to accurately validate the timing at the finish 🙌🏽
Is that the roubaix you are riding? I have tarmac sl7 but i regret not buying a gravel instead...makes me limited in where to go...but also have pain on my wrist gooing on a +100mile ride.. Appreciate the positive comment, get yourself on a Roubaix, you’ll love it 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Hi Jack congratulations on your amazing journey. In your planning was it assessed that riding the trail North to South was the best option? Or was that guided by the previous record. Is your ride on Strava or Komoot. Good to see the Aussie pie was part of the nutrition plan, cheers
Thankyou! Logistically we just wanted to finish in Albany so we could then make our way back to Perth via the schools.
