This was absolutely fantastic! I followed all day on IG and thought you guys did a great job covering it as well as you did, but this video edit, 48 hours later, is epic! Watching "Call of a Lifetime", is what got me into gravel biking and the Life Time team continues to bring the heat. Thanks for all your hard work, team! It's greatly appreciated!
Awesome! Thank you so much!
Awesome!
Dylan Johnson not finishing 17th 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dylan was flying!
I thought the same. Looking forward to his race recap!
Gona be hot, gona get a flat, not gona finish
I’m psyched he got top 10
I need that Dylan race review video RIGHT NOW
Constructive criticism: I want to see the race. I specifically don't want to see the commentators. The presentation style of this and the other Life Time Grand Prix videos is very much a presentation of an epic event, but I feel like frequently the race suffers because of it. This is the best place to watch the race and the video is only an hour long. If we remove all the introductions, histories, interviews, etc, etc, we're down to less than 40 minutes. That's only 40 short minutes for a 200 mile gravel race. The strategies, attacks, the unfolding story of the day is getting lost in the priorities. I think your audience is dramatically more knowledgeable about cycling and racing than you are giving them credit for. The American NBC style Olympic coverage that needs to cater to people who have no idea what's going on is less important, IMHO, than making sure the race stands front and center above the fanfare. I still appreciate this more than I can say, but I've got to ask for what I want or nobody will know ;-)
I came for this comment. Thanks
Sadly this looks like 1 hour marketing video not a race recap. There is not much racing in this video :/
There should also be a podium and coverage of non-pro beer gut dads.
Give the footage to Lantern Rouge and we'll have a more informative 10 minute summary than this whole coverage. But I guess the purpose of this video is a showcase.
Just show your race footage.
Lachlan just chillin with a PBR post-race, what a legend...
Top ten for Dylan! Very nice ride.
Dylan and Lachy are my favourite racers!
@@ElectricGhostOpera Same here!
Look at how far ahead he was running before the sprint though, Dylan got absolutely cooked at the end there
That bike is sweeeeeet.
@@jay_stnealways one negative Nancy in the comments. He did great and was happy with his result.
That drone shot at 57:48 is absolutely INCREDIBLE
We appreciate that! Thanks for watching
Had to send it 🙌🤘🏼
Goosebumps... incredible shot
whoever was the drone pilot at the women's sprint finish - I will buy him a beer. WOW WOW WOW. you guys rock
I'll get that for you - amazing right?! 🚀
The dude is a killer pilot
It was the coolest shot of the whole video! Kudos to the pilot!
So sick
It is a fantastic shot, but doesn't the drone negatively affect the riders that are behind it? This is a sport of marginal gains, and I think I would be pretty pissed if I had to sprint through a drone-induced headwind at the end of a 9-hour race.
If the drone is off to the side, or flies a little higher and zooms in, we'd get a similar shot with much less disprution for the riders.
Kudos to those who put in an epic few days compiling and editing this video. I can't imagine going through the hundreds of hours of raw footage and interviews! Great work to all the unsung heroes!
Cheers! Appreciate the good words 🥂
Thank you for watching! It was a feat and we only pulled it off with a great team.
Yeap!! Thank you. Awesome coverage.
THIS is the kind of coverage racing needs- thank you for putting it out so quickly.
Enjoy the show!
Thanks for watching!
Yeah nice video about the event in general, but there is basically nothing about the race, just few shots here and there. But it's not a race recap it's a documentary about the event
@@kubackjeee I'm guessing you didn't watch it.
@@kubackjeeewhat are you talking about? The race was covered. They don’t have 17 helicopters running around catching every second. For the most part the race is pretty mundane from hour to hour. These are just the highlights. Quit being so negative this is infinitely better than any other race recap
Can’t help but cheer on Dylan
ONE PERSON edited this? Blake my dude what the fuck. How much caffeine did you consume in the last 3 days? Great fucking job to the film crew, sorting this footage, and clipping this together.
Is this for real? How could that be.
Appreciate that. I had an assistant. But yeah. I dunno. I blacked out. 😂
@@Blake2383 👏👏👏
@@JohnBQuinn-mk2vfbudget isn’t as big as people think. It’s no world tour budget
@@jonpoon3896 Oh I get that. But ONE individual doing the editing is crazy. That's some next level talent given the timeframe and quality.
musette in the feedzone was the move. way to go lachy!
So psyched for Dylan Johnson on his result and also on getting features here on the LT channel recap
Some would say it was a very nice ride
This series is truly helping to define the American Gravel scene 🇺🇸 and we are here for it.
Absolutely outstanding footage - that women's sprint drone footage 🔥 - and production, especially on the tight timeline. This is everything the racers deserve. Kudos to the entire team putting it together.
Thanks for watching!
LDC's laugh is perfect for a horror movie.
So glad to see Hannah and Dylan slowly but surely making progress.
LTGP's production is awesome. This one was phenomenal!
Thanks for watching!
Appreciate how fast you guys put these highlights together.
Hey LT crew, phenomenal job, as always! As a race fan, I love the coverage. But as a lover of cycling I was nearly moved to tears hearing about Dani Shrosbree staying with a local family and mentoring a local HS cyclist. Please keep finding and incorporating stories like this!
You're the best, Lelan!
Awesome drone shots for the women's sprint at the end. Great production!
Best event I've ever participated in. Everything and everyone was top notch. Glad to have completed the 100 (my first Unbound). The race staff and town of Emporia were all stellar. Welcoming and supportive. We let the pros be pros, while we were out there on our own journeys, competing against ourselves, the heat and the terrain. There was plenty of room for all of that at this race. Thank you 🤘
LOVE THIS - Thanks for coming and great job out there, come see us again!
@@LifeTimeGrandPrixNo doubt!!
I really respect your responses to all the criticism. I’m sure you worked really hard on this and it’s pretty awesome that you can take the criticism with grace. Well done.
Truly appreciate your comment and thanks for taking the time to write. We’ve got half the team 💤 while the other half is getting hyped on Crusher and Leadville!
Superb! Gravel will only continue to grow.
Great job! Amazing work, Congratulations to the whole team at LTGP and all the race participants for making such a long race so exciting like a crit race. Who wants to watch the Tour coverage after this. That women's final sprint finish drone footage just killed it.
We appreciate you! Thanks for watching
Thanks so much!
Was so fun 🤘🏼🙌
That drone shot of women’s sprint finish was so awesome
🤘🏼🎥
Kudos to Lifetime for putting on an amazing event! It’s great to see the pointy end of the race here (was also really neat to see them blow by me on the 100 course, but I had no idea what was going on.) I want to mention how neat the event is for the average Jane and Joe athlete. The volunteers were amazing and took great care of everybody. I continue to feel overwhelmingly grateful to the families who come out to watch, cheer, and even have coolers of cold drinks. Just amazing to see the love and support from the community! Thanks for putting this event on, it was fantastic!
So glad that you enjoyed your time in Emporia! Seeing the faces after the lead riders approached at high speed was priceless. Game recognizes game, as they say!
Great to see Dylan break 14th!
Amazing film. What a cool race series. I love how you showed more than the race but the stories behind it. UCI take note. This is how you promote a race and keep viewers engaged!
What an awesome compliment! Thank you for taking the time to check it out
Thank you again for not waiting for 1 year to release these highlights!!!
More to come!
Great job editing team!
Can’t wait to get back!
I'd love to see more race footage of some of those important moments earlier in the race. Footage of finish was fantastic, would be great to see when those splits, breakaways, flats, crashes, etc happened too. Amazing effort to get this done in two days though, great work Blake and Cold Collaborative folks!
Unreal drone operation in the women’s sprint. Under the power line then then above to look down, then under the finish banner
Such a talented group behind the cameras, right? Every shot is just 🔝
I'm actually blown away by how you were able to make such a high quality production in just a few days. Must have not slept.
The team is 💤 as we speak, thanks for the kind words!
First class production guys. The fact that you have it out within a few days of the race is just extraordinary.
The race itself is unbelievable event but this aftermovie is a work of art. Complete coverage of all key moments, superb structure of the whole event and interviews, great cinematography (the drone shot of women finish was epic), great music, great everything. Absolutely awesome work. It was like watching some action movie. And the delivery time is unbelievable. Great work guys!
Wow, on behalf of the whole team - thank you!
Wow. Outstanding coverage. The best ever. From on the ground in their little buggies. To the helicopter in the air. And all the Graphics of the race. To the interviews and personal story's
Thank you for the hard work in the making of this video.
Thanks for writing in and sharing your kind words! Keep an eye out for what's coming next - more to come!
Dylan’s setup looks so sick!
🚀
well done Matt Beers South Africa is proud of you
Hell Yeah, GOOOOOOO Lachy!!!
I was screaming and pumping my fists as Lachlan crossed the line... Really nice to see Dylan J break into the top ten, and Rosa was absolutely the power Queen on the day.
Most fun I've had watching a bike race in a VERY long time.
Thanks to everyone for such an amazing event, and thank you Life Time team for capturing it all :)
🔥 thank you for these highlights and an epic event
You all nailed the coverage! Thanks so much for the quick turn around on these 🤙🏼
The coverage of the race is AMAZING! The elite women has become so competitive....how about that 9 up sprint finish! #goosebumps
After 10+ hours! Goosebumps for sure!
This was an AWESOME presentation! Unlike the world tours and other famous European races, we don't really get to see and know about the racers and everyone working to make these great races happen. I was excited and glued watching every second. Thank you, and I hope it only gets bigger and bigger. Congrats to all involved, including the phenomenal athletes competing. ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a utterly fantastic edit of an utterly fantastic race, the camera work was brilliant. The drone shot of the women's sprint was just on another level. Lachlon winning for me was the icing on the cake.Thank you Lifetime.
AMAZING 🔥🔥🔥 Keeps getting better & better every year with the participation of World class riders 🔥
I really love how they made their highlights it's like watching a story. ❤❤
Production has improved year by year. Covering 2 separate 200 miles races at the same time is not easy.
Some comments here say they only wanna see racing and don’t care about personalities… but that’s what’s different about gravel, people matter.
Also, gravel is still a niche sport and LTGP is still a new league. They need to make stars.
❤ thanks Jon!
This might be the best race report ever!
Jordan Schlek 🔥🔥
Great work everybody! Especially to the editing team. Epic!
Thanks for taking the time to watch it. Our editors Blake Campbell and Andrew Boucher are relentless 🫠
Brilliant event. Fantastic racing in mens and womens. Wonderful production on video with informed, relaxed and accomplished commentators. You guys crushed it - the whole experience moved me. Gotta get to Emporia for Unbound! #addedtothebucketlist
See you in Emporia!
That drone shot at the end gave me chills, absolutely incredible
RIGHT?!
So stoked you enjoyed it
Cool to see a hippie crush the best. 😅
Love it… worth watching to the finish.
He's a man of the people and of the land...as long as you're cooking along @400w!
fun to see some of the euros like matej showing this scene some respect
I loved watching that ladies sprint finish. Amazing stuff.
Sooooo good right!?
Impressive turnaround on this edit. thumbs up.
These videos, the storytelling associated will make this sport relevant and fun to follow! It all started with EF s alternative racing calendar a few years back. Thanks for all your efforts and showcasing the athletes in this exciting movie ! Bravo
Not just highlights, it's a movie. What an incredible video. Smashed it
This is so good. This is genuinely the best cycling highlights show I have ever seen. So much better than everything available at World Tour level. Love it. Chapeau guys.
You're so kind - thank you so much!
Personally I'm not sure I'll ever ride an off-road event myself, but these videos are great and have me putting off doing my work, haha! Kudos to all involved!
Do it! They’re way more fun!
Listen to Greg, he’s onto something 😉
very nice ride
he sure did
Rosa kloser had the coolest name in cycling
She knows how to win, that’s for sure 🏆
so glad this event is getting this type of coverage. Keep this sport growing!
Thanks for tuning in!
Excellent Vid of the event, there is a ton of work needed to produce something this good. Many thousands of Kudos to everyone involved!
Keegan Swenson and SGV not interviewed again! 2nd race in a row. Is something going on? They are the king and queen of the series and yet they are never featured…real weird
I was perplexed by this after Fuego XL for sure, but have no insight as to their absence. Were they approached for interviews but declined? Although the relationship is symbiotic between the top athletes and Lifetime, the $300k prize money is peanuts. I can't help but thinkthis has something to do with it. But as for this recap specifically, it may be due to their public comments about LTGP after the latter announced a 'no rule change' re: women drafting men last month. SGV and Keegan were the center of an IG thread expressing frustration at this decision. There was some chiding as well, implying the promoter could afford the means to promote the race itself but not to ensure the racing was fair for the athletes. The 7 LTGP events all have separate starts this year, to Lifetime's credit. In this instance it resulted in some fantastic racing. The series is a global phenomenon, without argument. Inclusion in the series is highly coveted. My guess is that it is very profitable for Lifetime. Surely at minimum Keegan, SGV and many others deserve a larger chunk of the pie. Do any of the LTGP athletes get appearance money, for example?
Thanks for that background. It’s certainly becoming noticeable. I would have thought Keegan and Sofia “owe” the promoters some time to support these films
SGV has a win or nothing type of attitude. Doesn’t really show any interest in anything outside the race itself.
Last year, she got 2nd but didn’t go to the award ceremony the next day
Wow! Both finishes were so much more exciting than I got from social. So cool how Lachy and Chad worked together and then socked it out honorably! And Rosa Kloser went She-Beast-mode😁!!! Loved the coverage!
So glad you checked out the social coverage AND this production - you're the best!
Best Race Highlights I Have Ever watched.... epic
This was AWESOME! Need to get back to racing after watching this….WOW what a race!
See you at an event soon!
Amazing production!! Thank you!!
imagine your in the lead group 1/2 way through unbound and your pit crew lets the ice cream melt, what incompetence
😂
Rough roads, pioneers, no stopping, long distances, limited support and beer!! It draws paralels to the earliest bike races of the 20th century imho. 😬. Simply incredible.
Spirit of gravel or not. The production value is outstanding and the fact that you guys are getting this up so quickly awesome as well. Keep up the good work
Much appreciated!
With the helicopter and the vehicles in place, here's hoping for a live broadcast next year. This is up there with Strade Bianche, Paris Roubaix, and the Road World Champs as the best one day races to watch.
Thanks! We’re always trying to improve, stay tuned!
Great video, many thanks
By far the best summary of the race preparation, participant profiles, and the in-race action for Unbound. You've really upped your game here.
Thanks so much! We will be sure to share with the team!
26:08 "muh ice creams!" lol
My ice creams being melted was heartbreaking...
After watching that amazing women's finish, can we finally put to rest that a mixed mass start is the best/equal?! Wow what a finish for those ladies!!
Was thinking the same. I really enjoyed both races and one of those races would have been lost in a mixed mass start. A victory for common sense!
perfect coverage
Amazing content. So good and such an in-depth look at this race. I would gladly pay to view this quality of production.
Unbelievable finish for the women’s group. Seeing a cluster that large sprint is truly remarkable. This race always has great endings but knowing they finished so close proves how matched these athletes are both physically and mentally.
This was an awesome job …with great commentary and video….to give people that can’t make it in person a visual and give people who love bike riding the experience and help people with their riding bike journey
Well said!
Great coverage.
This is DOPE!
Incredible coverage, great storytelling and photography. Great highlights of the riders in this immensely challenging race. I'm amazed by the women's final sprint, that was so intense. Exciting to see gravel get recognition it deserves!!
We’re so glad you liked it!
amazing highlights, amazing race!
Absolutely brilliant summary, just love how people get lodgers and help ech other! ❤
Yo i was not expecting such quality coverage! Nice!
So glad you enjoyed it!
another great video, nice job
Nice!!
Epic. Thank you.
Amazing production LTGP! maybe your best Race highlight yet!
Thanks Derek!
Damn this is so compleing! It keeps getting better every year
Fantastic coverage! Keep up the great work! 👍🏻
Thank you for an excellent recap of fantastic racing. The drone footage of the women’s sprint is second-to-none!!! Bravo to everyone !!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Robert!
Amazing recap! Huge congrats for an amazing video that made most of us feel the Unbound from its deep inside!!! 🙌🏽🔝💪🏽🔝👏🏽
🙌
This is now looking big, building as well.
This race content is something else 💥
Awesome coverage.....Best cycling race series on the planet!!
I'm hyped
AWESOME! Thank you for this effort!
You're welcome!
Well Jordan!!
