Lump sum option is what the jackpot is actually worth. They advertise the amount ( before taxes) based on the annuity. You can have much better return than what you'll get from the lottery over 30 years with the proper high net worth investment institution working with you. If your young then annuity would make sense . As long as your not being foolish and live on your interest earned, you'll be in good shape
