Synopsis:
In the United States, nearly 80 billion lotto tickets and scratch cards are sold every year. Overnight these winners find themselves in charge of an astronomical fortune and at the centre of the limelight.
David and Erica won 62 million dollars, becoming the richest in their county in a matter of seconds. Self-proclaimed “redneck millionaires”, they are determined not to let their newfound wealth to cut them off from reality. When 51-year-old nurse, Jack, won “Cash or Life”, he immediately quit his job and began spending frivolously.
The temptations for lottery winners are endless and the risks, elevated. A third of winners end up in ruins. So what makes this industry so attractive, and what do the lives of the winners actually look like?

I don't believe in lottery curses. I believe it's how money is viewed. That's what influences your decisions.

How many times have you watched this?
The problem is the huge winnings, winning over say 50 million leads to dumb decisions and temptations. If they were broken down to many people making 100,000 to 500,000 more reasonable things would be done. The smaller amount allows for simple practical things like paying off all debt, starting a small business, going back to school etc. There is not enough for wasteful spending.
