- When we hatched a plan with the Denver Zoo to treat their Sumatran orangutan family-Berani, Nias, Cerah and Hesty- to LIVE music from the Colorado Symphony, we knew we were in store for something truly special.

Okay, but can we all agree Hesti (Hesty?) actually looks like a teenage daughter...hair and all?
You beat me to it. I was just about to comment on her fashion 'do.
yes in her emo phase lol
Most Definitely 😁
_Such_ a teenager!
She looks so bratty
The smile on the face of the male is delightful!
No
Yes
nice to see humans performing for animals. times they are a changing.
Ok humans, stop showing off now it's getting boring.
AAMENNNN! !!
Very good point. Never thought of it that way but it does show that many People are becoming more...humane and looking at life from the animals point of view. Some of us are becoming more moral.
Great comment😀😀😀
I volunteer at a zoo and the animals often do see us as a source of entertainment.
You just know, that big male would've shouted "PLAY FREE BIRD!!" if he could have formed the words.
Bah ha ha ha
Damnit I should have read before posting. ...
This made me laugh.
Orangutang thought "good but no Stevie Ray Vaughan"
Hahahahahahaha😂😂😂😂
Thank you for this upload. That smile on the males face was the most sincere facial expression of happiness . Good job all
Berani is me listening to classical... just chilling, enjoying it, and sipping my drink. Yup. Seems about right.
They were quite the "captive" respectful audience!!!!🤣 Love the hairdos, too!!!
If no one knows, this isn't the only video they've done, and there are also videos from other zoo's where the orchestra went and played for them, theres 1 of an Australian guy playing a didgeridoo for elephants, their reactions were just amazing
@@amoxzi both, I do believe. It could have been different orchestra's but either way I know these guys have done other stuff you just got to go through their channel and find it so if you liked it you could check the channel for these guys for different stuff or you could go to the other channel or just simply look up zoo animals with orchestras or whatever and find them that way
Awesome.
As the zookeeper said, it makes me happy to see these beautiful orangutans happy. 😀🎻
Dad was smiling the whole time. Orangutans are awesome!!
This is so special. I’m glad I stumbled upon this.
That smile on the Orang Dads face is one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
I loved the emo teenager, with the hair swept over his eye, a look of boredom. 😂
"a little fix for the camera"
It is fascinating to see how they give off similar vibes like a human family. The older daughter is in her high school teenager era and the mom is just a tired lady who has to look after a baby and the male was a typical dad lol
I believe they truly enjoyed the beautiful variety of music, so special!
Ahhh, gorgeous creatures and so lovely to see them react to the clasifícale music. The smile the orangutan has on his face is really sweet and delightful……just PRICELESS! Love this video and the orangutans, they are so very lovely and adorable 🥰 God bless them all with a health and a very long life. Magical video, awesome 👏 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🦧🦧🦧
I volunteer at a similar zoo and there is a 52 year old orangutan whom I often interact with though my relationship with her isn’t as close as it is with her keepers. She will sometimes choose to come over to the glass to look at pictures in my Baseball Hall of Fame and Hockey Hall of Fame books. I also recently bought a book on Pokemon with me and she seems to like the Pokémon as well.
❤
Thanks for doing this. And the face on the baby at 2:18 is priceless!
His eyes were completely on those musicians 🥰 I wish the zoos would do a whole lot more to entertain all the animals
Lucky ones. Yeah that was awesome 'seeing them happy makes me feel happy.'
They really liked the slower, soothing music best. The baby was getting lulled to sleep. My Maine Coon cat was falling asleep to the music🎶.
I bet if they had repeat performances they would really get even more interested!
I would go to the zoo more often if these musicians were there.
I honestly think that they should get their dose of melodies each day, especially now with Nia's absence.
Too adorable and our sweet musicians play beautifully!
At the end of it the orangutan said "play it again Sam" but it was edited out.
Zoos should have musicians playing for them all the time!!!
All animals understand good music bc it moves the body and soul
That was so sweet. Thank you for all you do for them.💜
orangutans are so smart! I love watching them😊
Beautiful, I love that! ❤️
That zoo is definitely the best thing in Denver
All of the videos of the different animals reaction was wonderful. Hard to really know what they were thinking but they seemed to enjoy it. Hope you all saw the following videos of different animal reaction. Sent it to friends to enjoy. Thank you for doing this.
At the very least, it was neutral. If it was bothering them, I think they would’ve made it obvious, right?
The teenage daughter having scene bangs killed me; I love orangutans.
Thank you gor playing gor them.
I love Orangutans and i love this zookeeper!
I really enjoy these, thank you for posting them, and for once, it's a place that I can drive to in 20 minutes! I wish I could be there to see this while it's happening
They loved it! They were smiling
Thank you.
They had a captive audience, literally.
What sweet apes!
Orangutans are the nicest of the ape family
absolutely beautiful playing. i think i was reacting the calm music as they were :) 🌷
So sweet Thanks for sharing 🥰
I got this wild Planet of the Apes feel of Orangutan musicians playing for people in a zoo and how we’d pay attention to good classical music.
Very nice. For me that would be like listening to Stairway To Heaven and then Hotel California one after the other.
Same!😉
Most Excellent! Made my day, thank you for making this video😊
That is so cool!
That orangután smile has me🥰🥰
Wonderful !! I loved this video 👍🥰
I think they enjoyed it
Very cool.
Excellent !!!
Beautiful
We play classical and country music in our milking barn as the cows give more milk as compared when no music is plsyed
Love. Love.
Try some jazz music on them .
That would only work on King Louie
👏🏻 for all involved in giving the orangutans something out of the ordinary.
Orangutan: "I paid to hear some Dr. Dre, dammit!"
It would be nice to actually see more of the animals reactions vs so much of the interview.
Thank you. I love Orangutans.
Male orangutan: "Smooooke on the water"
I love this! ❤
That music is amazing🎶
Like giving a kid ice cream, then not doing it again.
Well done!
They look like some of our patrons on Monday nights. Seven nights a week our band played where the dance floor compared with Gilley's seen in Urban Cowboy. Free on YT btw as of 6/8/21.
The mother was like “great, I was trying to get my baby to nap, now it’s whole sleep schedule is off….
It might not be in their normal. tonal range. It would be neat to see how they react to different instrument selection.
Like maybe a sax, trombone, and tuba trio doing New Orleans Jazz.
They are like: really? We want TONES AND I !!!
This gives new meaning to the phrase "captive" audience 😉
No poo was flung. That’s a positive ❤️ 🦧
Couldn't they have picked a more melodic repertoire? Sheesh!
Yeah maybe some rock.
Would you prefer stripper music perhaps?
@@ahmanui2 that would have been more entertaining
Ikr? Classic music can be so soothing. Why does it sound irritating here?
@@Katya_Lastochka I wish we could send a human rep to the orangs and say: 'Humans can do much better notes than these!' And then play some Telemann, toe-tapping jazz, or reggae : )
I am like an Orangutan. I have a very slow metabolism.
Very interesting, just wondering how they would react to life upbeat music?
Why don’t you focus on the orangutans? I don’t mean to be rude, but if we wanted to see a symphony, we could click onto any of thousands of sites. This interaction between apes and music is UNIQUE. What’s so interesting about these people in formal wear? ALL ANYONE WANTS TO SEE IS ORANGUTAN RESPONSE TO MUSIC.
Anybody who disagrees-I’m wrong, the viewers want to hear what people think primates are thinking-please, make your opinions known here, so everyone will know what the audience wants in the future.
Agree
the first listen of a new song for me is rarely as pleasurable as the second or third exposure to the same song. And maybe the orangs are similar, so a suggestion, go back and play the same pieces, maybe they will find the delight magnified exponentially too. opera conventions suggest to me that I am not alone, why else would they begin with an overture, which is an overview of the melodies to come, a taste of what is in store as the opera proceeds. so as the opera unfolds, the audience has already had a taste of what they are hearing, and that enhances the pleasure. see how the orangs respond to something they have heard before, give them that power that humans have, the chance to hit rewind, or replay the youtube video. just a thought....
That is a really good idea!
That would be a fascinating continuation of the experiment!
I think it be neat to perform a children’s play for them, a funny one, and see how they react. Or perform a ballet, or different ethnic dance groups, or a dance from a musical, like the Lion King or Wet Side Story. It would be interesting to see if they tried to join in - the way little kids will dance at outdoor musical events!
❤
Isn't this the family where the mom died and the dad unexpectedly started taking care of the baby??
It is, so sad. The mother died unexpectedly and the father started taking care of the baby. They said only one other zoo has experienced that.
even humans would shut the sound of. BORIG!!!!!
The orangs could be given musical instruments for their enrichment.
They could mimic horn-blowers and drummers most easily.
If we put them in prisons, er, I mean zoos, then we should help them fill their days and fill their hearts.
The orangs? Do you mean the humans??
*W O N D E R F U L ! ! !* 🎶🦧🎶
I would love to see Orlando Gibbons' music performed in front of some gibbons. (Would they start vocalising?)
One yelled "FREEBIRD"
You copied this comment, only changing it slightly. Lame.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 no I commented before reading the other ones and reply to the one saying that.
Dude, hesty(before I go on, it's a joke, take it as one) could be in hair commercials look at that doo!
Oerhaps next tume it would be be good to do all Baroque to be inharmony with their natural metabolism?
Now You know where to find an audience.
orangutans want jazz
They were waiting to hear "Stairway to Heaven."
If you're good they won't throw poo LOL
They're more concerned with why people are dressed for the symphony instead of the zoo.
i think them boys prefer some raw liver for energy
Give an orangutan a violin. They are so smart with human tools, I bet they could learn how to play it. 🎶
..or smash it.
Play some Skynryd man! I was expecting them to go ape shit but it didn't happen.
show them dance
Sort of a busy piece for slow metabolisms.
Plot twist: this was orangutans got talent show and those people were performing and waiting fkr the orangutans judgement
All the human performers were eliminated. The winner was a pair of tapdancing pigeons
I would love to hear them react to We Will Rock You. Also great harmony, like Create in Me a Clean Heart oh Lord sung by The Acapella Company
Dvorak?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰
Ronny trying to get an encore going but instead silly peices to camera. Stop talking to us, we are ignorant, play the fiddle for the ape he loves it!
visual test: turn off the sound and look for a change in behavior
