    Something about this truck feels timeless. It comes across like a truck you’d want to take to car shows 25 years from now.

    I have a 2018 Colorado myself that's about 6 months old and doesn't even have a thousand miles on it yet and I love that thing. I don't even have the v6 as I bought the WT model extended cab standard transmission with the appearance and convenience package and it pulls a 21-foot 3500 lb boat with no problem. Not bad for $20,000 pick-up.

    Nice review, thanks for taking the time to post it. I just picked up a 2018 Centennial Edition Z71. It's new, it only had 35 mi on it when I test drove it but it had been forgotten in the back of the Chevy dealer's lot for months. I got it March 30, 2019 and saved a bundle buying last year's model. So far I really like it but with only 180 miles. Thanks again! i.imgur.com/itWIhRq.jpg

    I own a 2016 .. the things that suck is how chevy put the 2 same size knobs for the headlights and 4wd next to each other. Once in awhile ill accidentally turn of my headlights when I supposed to shift in 4wd. I think they should put the 4wd knob in a different place so it won’t be confused with the headlights.

      Yikes that's not good. I think Ford has the Ranger near the shifter. Not sure I like that spot either. I know when I shift into 4x4 I have to look to make sure I don't do what you are talking about.

    I've got the 2019 Z71, 4x4, V6, 8 speed. I have a 2014 Silverado exactly same specs except 8 cylinder 5.3 liter engine.The Silverado is absolutely silent. the Colorado is a growly, noisy engine. I like it, but I wish it was quiet like the Silverado.

    One more thing: I found the front seats uncomfortable, especially for long periods of time. The console made it confining, especially with the raised arm rest. Wish they had an option for a split bench seat with a column shifter.

    • @teller121
      @teller121 5 лет назад

      is it a size thing or is it not good design. I'm 5'11" about 210 and not a kid. But I like the look; haven't had test drive but test drive doesn't last 2 1/2 hrs like reality does.

    • @cryengine_x
      @cryengine_x 3 года назад

      yeah weirdly each small truck i own gets bigger on the outside but actually feels smaller on the inside due to the design. my 94 isuzu (rebadged s10) had a hugely roomy cab (though EG, Rangers from the same era had tiny cabs). my 08 canyon has way more room behind the seats than my Isuzu, yet ironically probably felt a bit smaller than the ancient isuzu from when small truck were still small. Now I can guarantee one of these will feel smaller yet due to the large center console in modern vehicles, vs the bench seat on my current 08 canyon.
      That said my Canyon is a true regular cab and the new ones all are extended cab at least, so total room front and back is more on the new.

Honestly I'm not sure your MPG is all that better vs a 1/2 ton. I would take a hard look at a extended cad 6' bed with a smaller engine. Even Chevys new 4cyl in their Silverado puts up good numbers. Just compare overall length. Best of luck.

    I am very very very torn between a Chevy Colorado and a Subaru Crosstrek. I've leased two Crosstreks, they been flawless, I tow my toys with it. Kind of annoying to have to get out the utility trailer every time I need to haul stuff. I got a lease quote for a Z71 in Kinetic Blue (best color) with the Trailering Package, heavy-duty and drop-in bed liner (not the spray-in). For the Colorado, dealer wanted $391 a month for 36 month 15k miles a year and $2000 down (including all the fees, first month, and down payment). I feel like he could do better, so I have not moved on it. The Crosstrek has the Harmon Kardon 9 speak 440 watt audio and all the bells and whistles for around the same price. How do you like the audio in the Z71? Do you have the Bose?

    I have a 2018 Colorado z71 crew cab I purchased in October, 2018.
    So far:
    Check engine light came on; engine misfire with stored code. Root cause undiagnosed.
    Service stabilitrak light came on; no code stored, root cause undiagnosed.
    Infotainment system developed a hairline crack in the faceplate; awaiting warranty repair.
    At idle with the heat on, I can often smell exhaust in the cab. Goes away once truck is in motion.
    Radio often cuts out completely, then comes back on. It just goes dead silent. Reminds me of a cd which skips and then starts playing again.
    Transmission is starting to show signs of the infamous shudder these are so well known for.
    By comparison, my last truck was an 02 Ranger I purchased when it was 11 years old, with 72,000 miles on it. I drove it for 85,000 relatively trouble free miles; other than routine maintenance, I changed out the battery and starter motor. The only reason I got rid of it was because it was impractical as a family vehicle. Even with the extended cab, it’s a two person truck.
    The Chevy? Starting to smell a lot like lemon to me.

Dont even notice it on this blue one. Also you could get running boards for like 125 bucks to cover that up. I might anyway just because I think running boards look cool.
      and stupid brand loyalists are funny. theres no major difference between car brands. other than if anything the japanese brands might have a slight edge in reliability but nothing to worry about. i dont like the way tacoma looks (plus they are expensive!) and my 08 GMC canyon has been really reliable and I love how these current Gen Colorado/Canyon look so I'm not really looking at the Tacoma.
      My Dad says something to the effect of "all cars are good now" and I tend to agree. They all seems to hit 200-300k miles without major issues with ease, at least in my family. My last isuzu (which was a rebadged S10) had 199k when I traded it in. My current Canyon is up to 131k. My Dad's Tacoma was over 300k. etc.

      seems mainly transmission problems with the 8 speed (which only comes on the 6 cylinder) that I can tell. For that reason if I get a used colorado with 6 cyl I prefer to look at a 15 or 16 when they had the seemingly more reliable 6 speed. also as with any product, most of them probably work just fine, it's a small minority with problems (though admittedly trans problems are known to be a thing particularly on the Colorado)
