Well... It's basically a Ford Focus, but the Ford Focus is considered a better vehicle in terms of performance. They're not a bad car, but a little underpowered. But hey the good thing is it's a discontinued brand and a collectors item, just like my Pontiac G8, so there are people who would love it. And the fact it is a Sedan with a bit of bang, people will buy it, hell I was looking at buying one with 120k miles on it, but the price was a turn off for me (I'm a bit cheap)

I've had a 2006 Tacoma 4-cylinder base truck for nearly 12 years. It's a great little truck and does everything I need. It's important to be realistic about what it is and what it isn't -- if I needed more truck I would have bought something bigger. But this one is perfect for what I do: camping, hauling dirt bikes and firewood, and of course helping friends move lol. Extremely comfortable and reliable, decent on gas (it's still a pickup) and will hold its value extremely well.

The only thing is that they did have a rust issue with he frame. Not as bad as Toyota but bad enough to buckle by the leaf spring mounts. But to be fair it was up north. It kind of reminds me of my old S10 - rides good and has just enough power, but not TOO much. ;) FYI - when it started shifting funny and the speedo was going haywire, it wasn't the computer or the speed sensor on the transmission as many had said - I replaced the instrument panel and everything went back to normal. Also, DO NOT overfill the gas tank, it dumps gas into the vapor canister and ruins the vent solenoid. If memory serves, it was cheaper to buy the vent solenoid for the Hummer instead of the Colorado. YMMV

Drove it for a few hundred thousand miles and only replaced the slave cylinder in the transmission. When I went looking for another one salesman told be my calculator was broke or it must've had a strange rear end in it. I have a 2004 Colorado, I change oil every 3K miles and now have 306,000 miles on it. I have always impressed. my friends when I crank it up some as we get into traffic. I really like the 4 cylinders over the inline 5s. I never crank it over 4grand because I need the truck to run everyday. Oil pressure sender went bad. both cam sensors and just replaced the rocker panels for the second time. I own 4 Colorado's, the biggest problem we have here in Ohio is the frames. Right in front of the rear wheels they fall apart from rust. I wish GM would sell us a replacement frame, because these are great little trucks. I wish I could find one with a factory 5.3. I just bought an 05 Colorado with the 3.5 inline 5 4x4 as my first vehicle and I couldnt be happier. Its Chevy's victory red and I got it at 88k miles for 4 grand. It now has 92k miles and it gets amazing gas mileage and has enough power for what I need without breaking a driveshaft. The heater and ac work perfectly and it rides nicely. The only issue with this truck is the rust. Many people have had issues with the frame rusting out like the Toyota Tacoma and they rust out almost just as bad. The thing is that the frame has rusted out where the end of the cab and the front of the bed meet. The frame was rusted out pretty bad and the frame was going to buckle soon. A nice box weld on the frame with some thick steel will fix the issue for years to come. I also replaced the wheels as they were rusting out too. But other than that it is a good everyday truck for almost everyone who is thinking about getting one. I would highly recommend this truck to anybody who asks about it. The last thing is that most of the truck is easy to work on. Given my 05 is an early year for the model so I have issues such as rust throughout the whole truck and design flaws. But the engine bay is big enough that u can get to everything that you might need to replace quite easily.

I've got a 2008 gmc 5 cylinder . Runs really nice . Has anyone had problems with the stupid abs when you hit the brakes ? I never looked into it just unplugged it I don't need abs and I think it will cost me a fortune to fix .

The 5 cylinder is an underrated engine for sure. They are great trucks.

As a mechanic myself I found that most of the Colorado's that I worked on had problems with the internal timing chain tensioner. Most mechanics that I knew wouldn't work on them because of people did not want to pay for the price of the labor plus the cost of the parts. Has this problem bee addressed?

I bought one of these with the 2.8 4 cylinder and auto transmission over a year ago and it has 225k miles on it and still runs great, gets good gas mileage for a truck and I drive it everyday, and only paid 1500 for it and it’s still not in terrible shape, definitely not bad trucks!

My 2005 Colorado, in-line 5, last week hit 304,000 miles. Granted that I had trans rebuilt at 260,000 miles. It still running. Just change oil at every 5,000 miles.
