I chopped all of my relaxed hair off, with zero transition. Wearing a short curly afro. Low maintenance hair care, using avocado oil for moisture, protein shampoo, and protein conditioner.
@@dearinsomniadontletthebedb9237 I have heard of protein overload. However my hair thicken and became stronger while wearing a hair relaxer. After about two shampoos and conditioning.I have a brand new head of hair. I would never consider changing my hair products. It builds the hair, zero breakage!
MAIN TIP: those ends. Your hair is going to grow from your scalp regardless of if you want it to or not but if you can retain your ends they'll break and LOOK as if your hair isn't actually growing.
I'm not a 4c natural but I watch a lot of 4c channels because I personally believe that hair porosity and hair structure (level of thickness and coarseness) plays a much bigger role in how our hair responds to different products. Pattern is just the shape of your hair and just like the shape of your body, society always has something to say about a part of you that has nothing to do with anyone but yourself. My hair is naturally very defined without products, but it's also very frizzy and I live in an all year round humid climate. I can control my curls with heavy gels and defining products, and sometimes I did. But I recently big chopped after 5 years being natural, and told myself I'm not listening to anyone but me this time. My hair gets more love when it's tightly coiled and defined, and I'm told "You need to your hair" when it's been a few days since wash day and I have 3 inches of pouff. I started thinking to myself that I would wash my hair when it started getting undefined. I let people's opinions on my hair get to me. This video reminded me why I restarted my journey. I want to love my hair whether it's hanging loose straight out the shower or drinking in the humid air to try and touch the sun. I want to love my hair, no laid edges, and a wash and go that takes 5 minutes because I prioritize moisture not definition. I've always loved shrinkage because to me that's a sign of healthy hair, NOT "growth". My hair has always grown regardless of damge, relaxed, bleached or straightened to exhaustion. But it doesn't always shrink. Please, whoever reads this, love your hair. Not just when it's stretched or defined. Love it when it's clean and deep conditioned with not a drop of styling product on it.
I’m almost at 3 years now and my hair is just passing collarbone length, I had an undercut for the first year and few months into my journey tho. I got the revlon 1 step and started using it OD but I think it affected my growth for this year. I’ve been protective styling for the last 3 months to try recover so I can try retain some inches to hopefully have it looking healthy and thick for when our summer comes around in December. This video is my motivation 🌻

Girl! Thank you for this! I'm 4c transitioning from texturizing and my hair shrinks alot, but wow!!! You hair helps me see where my hair can go! My hair is thick too. I'm ordering more castor oil and doing braids myself, not tight, this weekend! It's a great protective style, as you said.
Thank you, I'm gonna be going natural pretty soon and I was really scared that having a short afro would not allow me to do any cute styles! You boosted my confidence! 😌
@blahface, when I transitioned, I never did a big chop. I did roller sets every wash day. This blended the permed and natural hair together nicely. Every 2 to 3 months I would clip my split ends. My hair has grown very nicely. I am fully natural now. I learn so much from my sisters on you tube. Stay away from blow dryers and flat irons for best success.
its been 2 years yall and I just wanna say that my hair is doing good. I had a twa now Im at armpit length. I get a lot of compliments by the thickness of it. 👌
So pretty. Such a joy to see so many Black women celebrating their natural hair and really caring for it. And, also for us older gray gals: it takes some work, but so worth it not only for how we look, but more importantly: how we FEEL. Every woman deserves to be beautiful, treasured and relaxed being herself. Healthy, long natural hair is glorious on all women. Don’t listen to anyone who says otherwise. What is TWA?
This is the 1st actually natural hair video. All other females make video of them with long hair already hair naturally curly so they actually be gimmicks. Thanks for this video. Nobody makes videos like this one with actual thick normal black hair or permed against not

Girrrll when I say I love this video. It's gotten me excited to continue my natural hair. I love seeing black women embrace and loving their natural hair, regardless of the length❤❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍
I used to have a full head of 3b that was down to my butt, one day I was at my dads and I forgot to brush my hair out for like 1 week. I had a huge knot at the back of my head. My mom was out of the country and my dad had like 4c short curly hair so he didn’t know what to do. I tried to brush it out but 7 yr old me couldn’t. My dad took me for a sleepover to my white grams house, and she decided she was gonna cut my hair. She cut my hair super short to my neck and cut it wrong. Now my hair is down to my chest a little bit longer but I have certain parts that are 3c because of how she cut my hair. My curl pattern is ruined in a certain area but I don’t mind. I’m learning on how to take care of 2 different hair patterns 3b and 3c.
I had 3c hair when I was little kid but I was never allowed to grow it out till I was in high school all those years of having a buzz cut left me with 3b-3c hair I wish It was fully 3c
Cutting your hair doesn’t change your hair texture. The cut hair is already dead and doesn’t affect the hair being made in your body and coming out of your scalp. Some children’s hair texture changes as they get older. And then sometimes the weight of your long hair can stretch your hair so you’re not aware of the true texture until you cut it. A lot of people have different hair textures. I personally knew I had 2 textures but when I cut my hair I noticed that I actually have 3 textures
I highkey felt like you were talking directly to me lol I'm in the twa phase rn and just did my first style today, finger coils. I broke out the castor oil midway through the video to baby my ends lol. Thank you for this video queen!

Once u start natural regimes you can feel the difference going back to the synthetics . My scalp hurt it was screaming too my hair cudnt get rid of the gel easily . I am high porosity and I’m not lying when I say the gel turned into some sort of deep conditioner that was drying. I learned my lesson. My hair is up to urs now so I know everything you said was 100% truth because I stopped combs when it got too much . I didn’t force my hair to do what it didn’t want to do . Nice Video
