I don't think anybody denies that Black women can grow long hair. I do believe more Black women would do it if they stopped ruining their hair with unncesarry unnatural styles and harsh products. Even a lot of what is considered "protective" ends up putting too much tension on the scalp and interferes with the natural growth process.
But some women can only grow their hair in protective styles that you put in quotes because their hair breaks from constantly taking it out an restyling so yes wigs and weaves can grow long hair because you don't have to rebraid or retwist or comb your hair for a month or two or however long you keep the braids in. We can't talk about women always wearing their natural hair without honest conversations about black American women especially being penalized at work and other places for not having perfect hair and showing up with fuzzy cornrows and twist can be detrimental to her finances and career.
Genetics plays a role in whose hair breaks off easily I notice a lot of people who have dense, thick strands are making videos as if everywhere has these same type of strands. Fine kinky hair breaks religiously for no reason. Genetics plays a role in how well your hair can thrive and how much more you have to do to keep hair on your head.
Thought Mariam 🇲🇱 (on the thumbnail) upload a new video aha 😅, love her
