Yes, Ted, I got the 28 day program, The funny thing is though that when I try to do the breath-ups, I get dizzy and then I get sleepy. I have not gotten to the CO2 tolerance exercise yet. Do not take down the program yet because it is going to take me a longer time to master this thing.
@@charlesclements4350 you are not taking a full breath are you? you are supposed to only using the diaphragm not the chest. Make you could send me a video of your breathe up so I can take a look. You shoud not be gettign dizzy just by breathing up. If you are on facebook I have a prvaite FB group for my students, might be easier to comunicate there.
I've got a student of mine who is a neurosurgeon, that has written several papers on the dive reflex. He is going back and trying to document the discovery of the dive reflex in the scientific literature. By the way, wish you had won, you were my favorite candidate!
Will dry breath holds by themselves activate the dive reflex? Or do you need to put water on your face before/after doing the breath holds in order to kick it in? Also how many holds, and what % of a maximum hold is best in order to activate it for a full breath hold? Sorry for so many questions, but great video! It was very helpful
dry breatholding lowers heart rate in trained freedivers. If you are not a freediver than holding your breath will likely raise your heart because your body is freaking out wondering why the heck you are not breathing.
Very informative, thanks for taking the time to present this information!
Glad you enjoyed, its my job!
My therapist taught me to activate the dive reflex when I need to emotionally reset. I have CPTSD and it gets me out of a flashback
That is super smart never would have thought of that!
Did a good job here connecting and explaining.
Excellent this is also useful for treating stress and anxiety, invaluable thankyou from western australia

Thank you Ted. I always like your tutorials because they are most helpful and inspirational. Any time you talk, I will listen.
Love to hear that, I've got alot to say so i'll keep making videos!
Good. You keep teaching and I'll keep learning. When it comes to the aquatic world, a person can never learn too much.
@@charlesclements4350 Not sure if you have seen this or not but I have a lot of online courses @ @t

Like, inducing the reflex moments before entering the hall?

So cool and informative.

so if i can hold my breath for 1 minute on land, does that mean i can hold it for longer underwater?
No look up Mike Boyd on RUclips he hold his breath for daily 3 and 1/2 minutes but when he got in the water he could only do it for a minute

yes even dry breath hold will activate but being in the water makes it stronger.
Awesome, thank you :)
I dont think just plain breath holding would trigger mdr, it rather raises your adrenaline levels which increases heart rate and makes it worse

Had no idea. Great video. One question: does holding your breath cause any adverse effects to the brain? If you know...
No that only happens if you drown.
ngl, he kinda looks like a chubby john krasinski
