An hour is too long, even if your comment was meant to be sarcastic. Even the most skilled freedivers can safely dive so deep and stay underneath for very limited amounts of time (7-10 minutes). I can push 4 minutes with small training, personally.
Hey the reason for that it most fishes tend to live closer to shore where there are corals planktons an other things for them to eat and most fishes can’t survive in that depth for long
He also never pressurized, so his ear drums would collapse and water would rush into his head, a lack of a proper weight belt whilst wearing a wetsuit means he would be positively buoyant, while he’s still sinking. So yea I’m thinking fake Also at the bepth to where’re you would reach blackness, if you lack a nitrox mixture you would have an extremely long decomp time to avoid bends, so that’s a no in free diving

Amazing and mystical journey. Thank you ❤
Quite possibly the most captivating youtube video I've ever watched
Also, his wife the camerawoman did an outstanding job. She even started flying at the end
Lol! Dude, you had my stomach hurt'n with that one.
😅😅
I’m dead😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂 nice one
Outstanding job? It is obvious that she was in creative mode.
I am scared of the open ocean but this video makes it terrifyingly beautiful 💖
Veronika everybody should be born in the swimming pool, we have spent 9 months in water (liquid amniotic) before born inside our mother then probably the scare that probably has most of the people, it would disappear
Same, I am too. I feel like if swam underwater near a boat in a part of the ocean that no sharks or jellyfish were at at the moment, and if I had many peeps with me, I'd probably be fine.. maybe... idk, I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to ocean creatures. I love the docile ones, it's the ones that aren't that scare me..

1000% agree
Me too!
That's it! one of the coolest and most stressful videos ever. I couldn't put my finger on it till I read your anxiety comment :)
Its called thallassophobia. Many people have it.
I felt exactly the same.
Nightwish brought me here.
Fascinating.
I breathed so uncomfortably during the video

I have to say i was the same, the relief when he came up for air at the end. I was like thank fuck for that, any longer and i would have suffocated.

That upside down shot with the waves was amazing.
Timo i was mad confused
I was like "there are oceans underwater like in Spongebob."
It looked like airpockets under ice or something, so cool!
Indeed
Checkmate, SpongeBob haters!
Did not expect this to be so good, the way the music slowly becomes more enticing while the compositions frame you to be smaller and smaller compared to how large the ocean is blows my mind. I could re-watch this so many times and see something different each time, absolutely stunning work.
The part with the whales around 8 minutes is just incredible man. I can't get over how eery yet beautiful these shots came out.
Thanks a lot !

Guillaume Néry you are an inspiration and the main reason I started freediving! Cheers!
Thought exactly the same. Perfect tones, composition, story.. Absolutely stunning
Amazing!!!

How did you start free diving? Is it possible for a normal, non-athletic person to start training for free diving. I am actually right now in the midst of getting scuba diving license. But I do have plans in the future to try free diving.
I love his movement in ocean
Feel like freedom

Truly amazing sir. Thank you for such gorgeous images. It is both humbling and mezmerizing. It paired so well with the music. I love the music you chose as well. So serene. Thank you, your wife, and any other filmers for all the efforts.

Even more astounding, the filmography was done by his wife Julie Gautier, also a champion free diver, who was also on breath hold while holding the camera. Read their interview in National Geographic.
Grace Yeung what?!!😳
Why the thong?!!
Grammar nerd
@Nonato Macias he's just saying that while he was doing every dive, she was also there holding her breath filming him :) smarty
Couple goals
Your wife's shots were great. The different angles, the recreation of scenes, everything was great. This movie was better than any of your best movies I've ever seen. Making peace with water.
He was diving at places, scarier than my nightmares
It was only scary because the mans wearing a thong

Or come out without seeing him go in 😳
I love the hasselhoff comment
...A-....Aquaman? 😟
😅yea
An hour is too long, even if your comment was meant to be sarcastic.
Even the most skilled freedivers can safely dive so deep and stay underneath for very limited amounts of time (7-10 minutes). I can push 4 minutes with small training, personally.
Good Evening: Impressive film, but did anyone else notice that for much of the piece the sea appeared lifeless? No fish, no coral, no kelp, nothing.
That's it, just free space lifeless, you need to be really lucky to find a whale, most of the time its just nothin
So yea I’m thinking fake
Also at the bepth to where’re you would reach blackness, if you lack a nitrox mixture you would have an extremely long decomp time to avoid bends, so that’s a no in free diving
@@elijahwalker6620 its just a film not real lol

🥲👌👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow this is ART. I felt scared, uncomfortable, lonely yet calming, amazed and in awe. Great work to the people behind this
@Jay Morgan what's funny
couldn't have said it better. but that's what it like freediving when you really get into it.

I also came here from the new Nightwish video. And I’ve now subscribed because this is so fascinating.
The ocean simultaneously instills such a feeling of calm and also of anxiety

Very true
I kept asking myself, "So, when is he going up for air?"
I kept waiting and waiting.
Then I realized that I needed to take a breath.
I had a similar reaction until I realized he had to be filming in different locations and editing as seamlessly as possible. Very creatively done!
alright bro
Фантастика. Очень интересно. Даже не верится ,что это реальные съёмки. Или всё - таки , компьютерная графика?
There are a few shots of things I have never in my life seen before. Absolutely breathtaking. Literally. This has got to be one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen on RUclips. Thank you.
it felt like horror movie like in the pitch black parts what if a damn animal swooped him bruh like i was scared watching this for some reason
No matter how many times I watch this, it always humbles me. Even with the few CGI tricks, it's still the same message I've been trying to get across to my kid for 14 years.
How beautiful the underwater world. Those shots with Whales and sharks are extraordinary. It's beyond words only the divers and the cameraman really experienced the beauty of the nature. It's a treat to watch. I never imagined even in my dream
