I found it extraordinary that the first thing Billy did after giving props to BB was that he gave props to the whole band... says a lot about a good man!!!
It's actually not all that remarkable really because that's just who Billy is. He has more charisma than perhaps anyone who as ever lived. He's the essence of a cool cat... 🇺🇸
First man I ever got invited up on a stage with with the entire audience Columbia pavilion md.red guitar no Lucille on it yet...first. show first time meeting bb.king yaaa.billy gibbons he'll ya.
I was fortunate to be witness to one of BB's last concerts -- certainly one of the last in Florida. He was so incredible. Such a great guy too. Stuck around after the concert talking to all the people -- especially the young people. BB was a national treasure.
In April 2011 was in a bar on Sydney Harbour in Australia, drinking with 3 mates . It was my turn to buy a drink , as I walked up to the bar , an old bloke with a long beard came up to the bar. He looked hard up , so I offered to buy him a beer . He smiled at me and said in a Yankee drawl , "let me buy you one ," with that he opened his wallet which was jam packed with $100 bills. I was stunned ! He bought us all a beer and sat with us . He turned out to be Billy Gibbons . ZZ TOP were playing the next night at the Enmore Theatre . He gave us 12 tickets. Billy is a top guy !!
Saw BB years ago. His bus was a half-hour late getting in. The band was set and warmed us but BB was no where to be heard. Gentleman that he was, he played an extra hour as compensation. Gone... never forgotten... The Thrill goes on and on ...
I use to watch "ZZ" top practice as a new band known as the "moving side walks" Back in the Day. I was a kid 12or 13 yrs old in the "HEIGHT'S" Houston, Tx Met them on many occasion's...........as a kid, just riding my bike in and around the neighborhood
ZZ Tops first couple of albums were more bluesy, BluesRock, Texas style, makes me think of another Great Texan, Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn. RIP BB, and Stevie, and God Bless, Billy...
Billy received the highest compliment and guitarist only dreams about when jimi hendrix said and I quote , this cat is THE BEST guitarist I've ever heard and it's been an honor to have his band open for us . 🇺🇸 they actually lived in the same apartment building for a while back in the 60s .
We all know BB can play. Not flashy but his note selection on his leads is flawless. That said, his voice is perfect for the blues. He never seems to hit a sour note. Talent like this is very rare. He has played with some of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen. R. I. P. Mr. King.
Back in '73 or so I was a West Point cadet and member of the fine arts forum. As a club bennie we got tickets to the Academy of Fine Arts in NYC. Headliner that night was BB King and the opening act was ZZ Top. There we were in our dress greys in swirling clouds of el ropo...I was there to see BB King but I was stunned to hear ZZ Top! I don't think the crowd appreciated the "lil ole band from Texas" as much as I did!
just bb king is testing himself guitarists who are younger than themselves, not to speak in what tone they improvise. and he just said kindly to gibons;)
Two Kings! What are great timely clip to find just after BB had to leave us. Singing with the angels and all the players that I've gone before you. What are Choir they must have in heaven
BB was such a gentleman and true friend. I met him once and I will never forget those big hands and his huge smile. I am also a white guy trying to sound like BB King. Love you BB
I thought it was in Memorial. I have met them all on different occasions. Frank lived across the golf course in Quail Valley, I installed the phone system in Dusty and Chuck's house in San Leon, and I met Billy filling up his car at the corner of Weslayan and 59. They are all great guys! :)
B B King and Billy Gibbons on stage together! B B King Gone, May he Rest In Peace! I am not about to cross that one off my Bucket List so Instead I will Look you & Lucile up! You left a legacy in Music that Only Those w/big shoes can fill, like Billy Gibbons! Just wish I could have been the fly on the wall in that dressing room!
BB King, enuff said. About 20 years ago I had to go to Memphis to meet with Fred Smith and some of his executives. That evening myself, and a guy who travelled with me, had to try BB Kings restaurant. So that evening we went and it wasn't really all that crowded when we arrived so we sat at what a I would call a bar but it was facing the stage. On the other side of the bar was a walk way then the stage. So, anyway, we are enjoying our meal and suddenly BB King walks out on stage with his band and started to play. We were floored to say the least because there is BB King about 8 feet from me playing. He had this singer, Ruby, and I sad to say I do not remember her last name but that girl blue the roof off that place with her voice. He played a few songs and that was it. We asked the waitress if BB King did that every night and she said that he just shows up when he wants to. Needless to say we were so fortunate and it is something I will never forget.
CRAP, right? Agreed, the trash being mumbled today with the lazy voice and weird sound in the background, I guess it Rap (hip hop of today), sounds like shit.
I've used super 9s for over 40 years. I always thought if they were good enough for J Page they were absolutely good enough for me. Only custom set aroud back in the mid 70s
I had a chance to see BB King and Willie Nelson in concert a few years ago and ended up turning it down because I had to work. I would give my left nut if I could go back and call in and have gone to that show. Rest in peace Mr. King
INBETWEENIE!I love it,having been a primarily acoustic player like most serious and heavy players have checked strings and neck widths etc.RIELY KING AND MRBILLY F.GIBBONS,WHO I STILL LIKE TO CALL THE REG WILLIE G (if he sounded any better he d be 3 people!)wish they could have pulled on an old KING fav of mine in G,Think it Over, from payin'the cost to be the boss,1969Chris Young"well I wonder does my baby ever think of me,but she been gone so long, think I'm gonna leave myself."
Not much of his personal life is known but I saw once in Houston in 1982 picking up a hot blonde coming out of a 7 eleven store ...He was driving a Yellow Corvette.....And his pick up line was ...I beautiful girl like you shouldn't have paid for coffee at any store ....Couldn't hear anything else but , they both left together. I didn't want to spoil the moment asking for an autograph...just wish now I had a camera to back up my story .
Thoroughly enjoyed this listening to two undisputed Legends Ty Hector for this brother!
Real men, real gentlemen playing real music with real musician, so astronomically classy.
I found it extraordinary that the first thing Billy did after giving props to BB was that he gave props to the whole band... says a lot about a good man!!!
Mr. Gibbons is a class act for sure.
He ALWAYS does that. Super gracious and humble. He's the definition of a gentleman.
It's actually not all that remarkable really because that's just who Billy is.
He has more charisma than perhaps anyone who as ever lived. He's the essence of a cool cat...
🇺🇸
I've seen zztop 3 times live awesome band never be another band like them?
Class, humble and respectful.
We are not worthy
You would be hard pressed to find a performance where Billy don't only praise the legend as well as the band. Truly a class act.
He's a Texas boy. He was raised right.
I mean... is there anything as cool as BB King & Billy Gibbons on the same stage together?
😎
🎸
🇺🇸
No I can’t say that there it is…two of my favorites
Would have been great to add Joe Bonamassa & Dion to top off every blues angle coast to coast.
Love the way Billy just picks up any guitar and effortlessly bangs out riffs from random ZZ Top songs, he's cooler than a penguin's nuts
First man I ever got invited up on a stage with with the entire audience Columbia pavilion md.red guitar no Lucille on it yet...first. show first time meeting bb.king yaaa.billy gibbons he'll ya.
I was so blessed to hear BB King live two times. Great musician.
I was fortunate to be witness to one of BB's last concerts -- certainly one of the last in Florida. He was so incredible. Such a great guy too. Stuck around after the concert talking to all the people -- especially the young people. BB was a national treasure.

All I can say is, This is beautiful.
I saw a BB King in 1980 in Detroit I was six feet from and he can really tear that guitar up
ZZ Tops first couple of albums were more bluesy, BluesRock, Texas style, makes me think of another Great Texan, Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn. RIP BB, and Stevie, and God Bless, Billy...
It's especially cool to see how gently they kick each other around! True friends
Ahh man! This is so cool! The master and the old rocker! They're both so humble!
Billy received the highest compliment and guitarist only dreams about when jimi hendrix said and I quote , this cat is THE BEST guitarist I've ever heard and it's been an honor to have his band open for us . 🇺🇸 they actually lived in the same apartment building for a while back in the 60s .
When he was 7 years old, Billy's Dad took him to a BB King recording session, so this has to be amazing for Billy
Mr BB King died last night. These videos now have even more meaning.

Thanks for sharing love these 2 guys
What I'd give to see this live! But thank goodness for You Tube!
That was AMAZING!! Those people were SOOOOOO LUCKY!!!!
BB is not only a great guitarist, he has stage personality, something so lacking in todays crop.
Both of these guys have that presence and they obviously have great mutual respect.
CRAP, right? Agreed, the trash being mumbled today with the lazy voice and weird sound in the background, I guess it Rap (hip hop of today), sounds like shit.
Makes me feel good about playing 9's!!
I've used super 9s for over 40 years. I always thought if they were good enough for J Page they were absolutely good enough for me. Only custom set aroud back in the mid 70s
two remarkable legends ....

B.B. after singing You are my sunshine: “now it’s good. Play it!”
Billy owes his career to the Black blues men especially BB.
Que humor un grande y para nada racista
Lovely ppl together...
Yes Sir!
How 180 people disliked this I will never understand
They probably listen to artists that use autotune. 🤷🏻♂️
