I’m a pecan addict. I make mine with pecans. My hubby is a cashew addict so I make his with cashews. Since cashews are already buttery the cashew brittle is very rich an you can only eat small pieces at a time! Thanks for this video! Love watching you and Chris!

Have ( had. 1 died) two toxic sisters and nothing good to say about brother in laws. ( child molester was the worst one) Mom asked me in December 2000 what I wanted to do for Christmas. I said something that sisters didn't bother with you at Thanksgiving, let's go to Florida! ( live in Pennsylvania) . Ask if serious. Came out of my mouth.! So we went to Florida for Christmas and sometimes Myrtle Beach for New Years. She was legally blind since 2001 or 2002 . Which had to do with sisters and stress. They are/ were 12 and 16 years older than me. In April of 2010 we took the Panama Canal Cruise. That was cool. I was never married ( different story. I am 57. Lol) Always seemed like the 9th or 10th day we would have a fight . And then that night be alright. Lol Funny stories on that too. 🤣 sorry babbling. I just don't understand people that can't even call their loved ones and you touched my heart knowing that another person had so much joy doing something for a parent ( and I know your Mom too) . I was the baby with 2 older brothers. So you know I had it made.😃 I still live 3 miles from their home. Btw I just turned 58. I have been married, but no kids.

Saw house for sale on a dead end road. As I said Dad died Nov 2000 . I found my house and I swear my Dad lead me this way. House was not really listed yet. I now know the people I bought the house from and the guy who lived here when his parents bought the house when built. Jan 2002 moved in. I am convinced my Dad got me here and that's all that matters. LOL. Oh, my friend wants me to move to Florida. Not happening. We were very lucky our parents lived close

I made the microwave peanut brittle when the outside humidity finally lowered enough to attempt this in rainy Oregon. Indoor humidity was 35%. I followed your video and it turned out sooooo good ! My 90 year old mother just loved it and it was a great addition to my other Christmas goodies. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe !
Pour it out on a half sheet pan (buttered of course) and pull it out with two forks as thin as possible and you will not only get twice as much but it also is more brittle and tastes better (I don't know why it tastes better, but it does). For a real taste treat, sub those mixed nuts in the big jars from Costco at holiday time.

I'm on my 3rd diabetic attack as I sit in my chair here today and I haven't even tried making it yet, but just enjoying the heck out of watching this video on RUclips! ;-) I love this stuff, but when my wife buys it, I can't help myself, but to eat almost a complete bag in one setting. My older neighbors (I am 72, so age in older means they are likely 5-10 years more than me) occasionally make up some peanut brittle and share it with us. However, that is generally at some special occasion or holiday. I feel for people who have dentures and can't really enjoy this candy as much as they would like. Congrats on your fight with cancer. Hope you stay in remission for a good long time. My last remaining sibling passed away with a rare throat cancer during this horrible lock down for Covid. She had battled breast cancer for over 25 years, but, sadly, that throat CA got her in the end. My prayers for all who suffer from that disease. Any rate, hope I can get my wife to learn how to do this candy making as she often makes up treats to take to her work for other employees there. Me, I do a lot of our cooking now days, so I'll have to try this out for myself, as well. One question though: Can it be made with success by using a sugar substitute instead of fine granular sugar? Any taste difference if done like that? Thanks for sharing this video.
The only way to know is to try it out... If it doesn't work try it with another type of sweetener till u get a combination that works and then you can share it.

My grandmother was a dessert pro. She could bake pies, cookies and cakes like nobody's business. She'd whip them up in no time flat. She made tins of 🥜 brittle every Christmas so we could give them out to our teachers when we were in school. We still make a few batches and give them out to family and friends.

When I was a teenager up in Lee County, Georgia, I loved to make peanut brittle. My dad had a friend in Shellman, Ga. that raised peanuts, and he would bring me seed peanuts - wonderful! My dad really had a sweet tooth.

She took the raw peanuts from the garden my Daddy grew in the summer after we had our plenty boiled peanuts…and dryed them out and then cooked them in the yard on a open fire in late September in a big BIg cast iron pot . That was the best Peanut brittle ever❤️

Yes my grandmother taught me to make brittle over 50 years ago. And I’ve been making it ever since , the old fashioned way. I’m gonna have to try it in the microwave. I make it all through the year for my kids and grandkids. But I’m getting on up there in years and it’s getting harder for me to make. So for the sake of my kids I’ll try your way. But you’re right, not many people make it anymore homemade. My kids love to eat it but won’t try to make it. I have made it with peanuts , pecans , cashews and I’ve even made coconut brittle. The first time I made peanut brittle, the newest microwave oven was before the Brady Bunch. My oldest Brother was cruzing South-Pac with the US Navy. Mom and me sent him a care package. Plus burnt oatmeal cookies. They were green bc it was St. PATRICK'S DAY

She was an amazing cook too. She taught me a lot. We came from Arizona, Taxes also Louisiana and Mississippi. My grandparents settled in Bakersfield California off of Weedpatch highway after the dust bowl. They both passed away a year apart, my grandpa passed away on February of 2020, this year my grandma passed. They left me great memories. ❤️
I prefer almonds, cashews or walnuts to peanuts-in case someone's allergic to peanut. I'm not, but peanut were just my dad's favourite nuts. I'm Diabetic now, so I've had to cut out all that sugar. Don't recommend sugar alcohols either! Some people are VERY sensitive to these-and aspartame.

I'm like another Poster's father, never cared for peanuts, pecans were always my favorite, and Grammy Sarrett used to pour some out for me right before she added the nuts. (Pecans are so expensive I never asked her to make me some with pecans... Save them for the pie we all loved.) Thinking about doing some with walnuts. I've become more interested in them lately since I found out how healthy they are for you and cheaper than the pecans I love so much. Might make some Walnut brittle! I read all the comments before I posted this. So many memories tired up with making candy and other good stuff, takes us back to where times were simpler. I make peanut brittle each Christmas for gift giving. Last year my husband had COVID, he did not loose his taste but had a huge craving for peanut brittle!! I think that I made 6 batches just for him. Our recipes are similar and making it in the microwave is the easiest!! I will be ordering peanuts and pecans through our county extension service this week. Take care!!
Oh My Gosh!!! I just made this and it is the BEST Peanut Brittle I have EVER made! I can’t believe how easy it is to make! My microwave is a 1200 watt so I only cooked it for 3 minutes, then 3 minutes, then 2. It turned out perfect! I would have never ever thought it would taste this good. And it’s light and airy. Thank you for this. I just made my first batch and near the end of the process realized it was getting overcooked, but too late to do anything about it. I wondered what time to cook would be appropriate for my microwave and now thanks to your post, I know! This batch is not totally inedible but lowering the cooking times next time will be much better. Thanks again!

This is a wonderful recipe and Tammy explains the instructions very clearly. If you have a high wattage microwave, run each cycle for 3 minutes instead of 4. I really scorched my first batch. Could smell it burning even befor the first 4 minutes were up. Second batch was delicious!
Scorched mine too ! Wish I read these reviews first! But I should have been right on top of it after that second cycle it was bubbling up high! My own fault ,will try again tomorrow .
I burnt my first batch! I had to throw my new cup out!! Haha! I had a smaller bowl then Tammy’s. I bought a big Pyrex bowl and after 3 weeks of being afraid I tried again! Yea! It worked with no burning! Let’s see if it gets hard now!

I also had an elderly friend that taught me how to set up a small amount on a metal tray and butter your fingers at a certain point of the kidney you stretch it quickly, this way you will get less sugar in your pieces and makes it easier to break. Thank you for your recipes.

I love pecan brittle. There is a little smokehouse in Texas that makes pecan brittle and it is SOOO good. Was thinking I would use Tammy's recipe to make some pecan brittle.

The term “parching/parched” in relation to the peanuts threw me until I realised you were roasting them. It is interesting that although we speak the same language, local terminology can be so different and sometimes confusing.

I’m old AND from the Deep South, and I’m fairly certain “parched”, like me, is not only old and Southern, but “country”. City people used the term “roasted. I recall seeing and hearing “parched peanuts” in reference to both home preparation and local vendor sales. Also, I recall parched peanuts being prepared from raw, in the shell rather than being unshelled, however, I think that part is irrelevant. 😎
“See’s Candy” makes the best peanut brittle I’ve ever had. It’s easy to chew, doesn’t stick to ur teeth, and they use butter too. I have 98% duplicated it. If this one is better or good, I will surely make it a few times a year. This recipe surely looks like a good one! I make butter brickle too. Do u make that as well? If so, u have another video class waiting. 🤣👏👏👏
Tammy, how many nuts do u use for this recipe & do u change the power status in your microwave? One lady said she changed it to medium because it burned the candy on high! Do u have your micro on high when cooking brittle?

You might put in twice as much baking soda to make it more poofy. I put a teaspoon of vanilla in my old recipe of peanut brittle when the baking soda goes in.
That was a really nice flounder! I appreciate this recipe (even though it is my exact same recipe too) bc I never did it in a microwave, nor had I done microwave pudding which I also appreciated.

My aunt taught my mother who taught me. Momma only makes it at Christmas time anymore. Everyone wants some. She makes it for family, friends and church family. Some even ask if she still doing it. She uses an old iron skillet on the stove top. She has since refined the recipe. She uses dry roasted peanuts and leaves out the extra salt and vanilla flavored corn syrup. It works. It's hard to stop once you start. So good. I am going to try the microwave recipe and see how it goes. She also lines a cookie tray with tin foil. It peels right off once it cools. Save some extra calories. Peanut brittle is like pecan pie. It looks way harder than it really is. GOD bless.

I'm on my 3rd diabetic attack as I sit in my chair here today and I haven't even tried making it yet, but just enjoying the heck out of watching this video on RUclips! ;-) I love this stuff, but when my wife buys it, I can't help myself, but to eat almost a complete bag in one setting. My older neighbors (I am 72, so age in older means they are likely 5-10 years more than me) occasionally make up some peanut brittle and share it with us. However, that is generally at some special occasion or holiday. I feel for people who have dentures and can't really enjoy this candy as much as they would like. Congrats on your fight with cancer. Hope you stay in remission for a good long time. My last remaining sibling passed away with a rare throat cancer during this horrible lock down for Covid. She had battled breast cancer for over 25 years, but, sadly, that throat CA got her in the end. My prayers for all who suffer from that disease. Any rate, hope I can get my wife to learn how to do this candy making as she often makes up treats to take to her work for other employees there. Me, I do a lot of our cooking now days, so I'll have to try this out for myself, as well. One question though: Can it be made with success by using a sugar substitute instead of fine granular sugar? Any taste difference if done like that? Thanks for sharing this video.

The only way to know is to try it out... If it doesn't work try it with another type of sweetener till u get a combination that works and then you can share it.

My grandmother was a dessert pro. She could bake pies, cookies and cakes like nobody's business. She'd whip them up in no time flat.
She made tins of 🥜 brittle every Christmas so we could give them out to our teachers when we were in school.
We still make a few batches and give them out to family and friends.

It's almost the same as Tammy's.
We don't add butter or parch the peanuts 1st.
With or without butter, peanut brittle is still delish.

When I was a teenager up in Lee County, Georgia, I loved to make peanut brittle. My dad had a friend in Shellman, Ga. that raised peanuts, and he would bring me seed peanuts - wonderful! My dad really had a sweet tooth.

Peanut Brittle I made one Dark and one Light ❤️I love peanut Brittle my Mom made it when I was young . She took the raw peanuts from the garden my Daddy grew in the summer after we had our plenty boiled peanuts…and dryed them out and then cooked them in the yard on a open fire in late September in a big BIg cast iron pot . That was the best Peanut brittle ever❤️

Yes my grandmother taught me to make brittle over 50 years ago. And I’ve been making it ever since , the old fashioned way. I’m gonna have to try it in the microwave. I make it all through the year for my kids and grandkids. But I’m getting on up there in years and it’s getting harder for me to make. So for the sake of my kids I’ll try your way. But you’re right, not many people make it anymore homemade. My kids love to eat it but won’t try to make it. I have made it with peanuts , pecans , cashews and I’ve even made coconut brittle. The first time I made peanut brittle, the newest microwave oven was before the Brady Bunch. My oldest Brother was cruzing South-Pac with the US Navy. Mom and me sent him a care package. Plus burnt oatmeal cookies. They were green bc it was St. PATRICK'S DAY

She was an amazing cook too. She taught me a lot. We came from Arizona, Taxes also Louisiana and Mississippi. My grandparents settled in Bakersfield California off of Weedpatch highway after the dust bowl. They both passed away a year apart, my grandpa passed away on February of 2020, this year my grandma passed. They left me great memories. ❤️

I prefer almonds, cashews or walnuts to peanuts-in case someone's allergic to peanut. I'm not, but peanut were just my dad's favourite nuts. I'm Diabetic now, so I've had to cut out all that sugar. Don't recommend sugar alcohols either! Some people are VERY sensitive to these-and aspartame.

I'm like another Poster's father, never cared for peanuts, pecans were always my favorite, and Grammy Sarrett used to pour some out for me right before she added the nuts. (Pecans are so expensive I never asked her to make me some with pecans... Save them for the pie we all loved.)
Thinking about doing some with walnuts. I've become more interested in them lately since I found out how healthy they are for you and cheaper than the pecans I love so much. Might make some Walnut brittle!

I make peanut brittle each Christmas for gift giving. Last year my husband had COVID, he did not loose his taste but had a huge craving for peanut brittle!! I think that I made 6 batches just for him. Our recipes are similar and making it in the microwave is the easiest!! I will be ordering peanuts and pecans through our county extension service this week. Take care!!

Oh My Gosh!!! I just made this and it is the BEST Peanut Brittle I have EVER made! I can’t believe how easy it is to make! My microwave is a 1200 watt so I only cooked it for 3 minutes, then 3 minutes, then 2. It turned out perfect! I would have never ever thought it would taste this good. And it’s light and airy. Thank you for this. I just made my first batch and near the end of the process realized it was getting overcooked, but too late to do anything about it. I wondered what time to cook would be appropriate for my microwave and now thanks to your post, I know! This batch is not totally inedible but lowering the cooking times next time will be much better. Thanks again!

This is a wonderful recipe and Tammy explains the instructions very clearly. If you have a high wattage microwave, run each cycle for 3 minutes instead of 4. I really scorched my first batch. Could smell it burning even befor the first 4 minutes were up. Second batch was delicious!

I burnt my first batch! I had to throw my new cup out!! Haha! I had a smaller bowl then Tammy’s. I bought a big Pyrex bowl and after 3 weeks of being afraid I tried again! Yea! It worked with no burning! Let’s see if it gets hard now!

I used to make it for Christmas gifts for my neighbors, and they loved it!
I also had an elderly friend that taught me how to set up a small amount on a metal tray and butter your fingers at a certain point of the kidney you stretch it quickly, this way you will get less sugar in your pieces and makes it easier to break. Thank you for your recipes.

microwave peanut brittle is easy and fast
Make sure to cut you microwave to medium or it will burn. I made two batches and burned them til I seen in recipe to turn your microwave to medium.

This was the same sweet soul who used a small piece of an old ripped sheet that she used to cover the turkey for thanksgiving while roasting. When I asked why she said “so the turkey doesn’t get cold, no one likes nippley breasts!!! 🤪🤪🤪🤪

I love pecan brittle. There is a little smokehouse in Texas that makes pecan brittle and it is SOOO good. Was thinking I would use Tammy's recipe to make some pecan brittle.

If you live close to an Asian market you should be able to find raw peanuts there! My wife roasts peanuts - she always gets them there!

The term “parching/parched” in relation to the peanuts threw me until I realised you were roasting them. It is interesting that although we speak the same language, local terminology can be so different and sometimes confusing.

I’m old AND from the Deep South, and I’m fairly certain “parched”, like me, is not only old and Southern, but “country”. City people used the term “roasted. I recall seeing and hearing “parched peanuts” in reference to both home preparation and local vendor sales. Also, I recall parched peanuts being prepared from raw, in the shell rather than being unshelled, however, I think that part is irrelevant. 😎

“See’s Candy” makes the best peanut brittle I’ve ever had. It’s easy to chew, doesn’t stick to ur teeth, and they use butter too. I have 98% duplicated it. If this one is better or good, I will surely make it a few times a year.

You might put in twice as much baking soda to make it more poofy. I put a teaspoon of vanilla in my old recipe of peanut brittle when the baking soda goes in.

My aunt taught my mother who taught me. Momma only makes it at Christmas time anymore. Everyone wants some. She makes it for family, friends and church family. Some even ask if she still doing it. She uses an old iron skillet on the stove top. She has since refined the recipe. She uses dry roasted peanuts and leaves out the extra salt and vanilla flavored corn syrup. It works. It's hard to stop once you start. So good. I am going to try the microwave recipe and see how it goes. She also lines a cookie tray with tin foil. It peels right off once it cools. Save some extra calories. Peanut brittle is like pecan pie. It looks way harder than it really is. GOD bless.
