I always take a chance and modify my clothing that annoys me...I figure I have nothing to lose since I don't like to wear it as is! Nice tutorial, Joy!
Joy, watching you make changes like this with such a "can-do" attitude makes me believe that it is possible, even for me to do! Thank you for being such an inspiration!
At first I thought your lovely blouse looked fine with the round neckline, however it looks so much better with the V neckline! Thanks for a great tutorial!
Amazing job and good tutorial. It's great to know that you can change things in sewing. Wouldn't it be nice if you could change everything you didn't like about life?
Joy, I never get tired of your videos! Love your humor, too. I’m a sloppy sewer. I’d have chopped that neckline too and top sewed it all the way around. Beautiful blouse, excellent save and now, you will wear it a lot!
Unpicking!! I totally agree. I've been thinking the exact same thing for years but figured it would be rude of me to correct someone who said it. To pick out the thread of a seam is to rip it out, so, to unpick a seam would be the same thing as sewing it.
I thank you for this. You looked nice in the round neck, but better in the vee. Also looks cooler. We live in South Carolina, so cooler is the word right now.
Joy you certainly brighten my day, your sewing tutorial is so understandable and so fun. Sewing should be fun. My sewing room is being redesigned and I can’t hardly wait for it to be finished. Thank you for letting me sew by proxy!
Joy love your idea to turn your blouse into a V. My face is round and never thought about what necklune looked best! Thank you❤️ Magnifacent (spelling) V Joy!!!! Love it!!!
I love your tutorials. You are really great at them and go into good details. I wish you would do more. I bet you would pick up a lot more followers. Love your channel
Love the tutorial... UNPICKING drives me crazy when people use that term. You would have to pick before you unpick....SMH... It is simply pick out the seam.......LOL Great JOB...no one would ever know it wasn't made that way
TY again. The V looks great! You look beautiful in all ur makes, regardless of neckline. I like the logic. Any shirts or blouses I find uncomfortable will be modified :-))
Would it be quicker and easier to cut the buttonhole around the outside border, since there will be a hole anyway? It looked like there was enough fabric so it would not impair the repair. (I will ALWAYS look for ways not to pick out stitches) My quilting friends laugh at me for constantly remodeling RTW, but I find that a few simple alterations make me happy in my clothes. Thanks for your great videos!
Recently I have been wondering if I could find a narrow presser foot for my machine. There are times it would be nice. I notice many industrial machines use much more narrow feet than domestic.
Hey Joy! I purchased and received the entire Surefit bundle! I have been watching all the videos and have learned so much already and I am not new to sewing. However, I may have missed it but I haven't seen any videos or tips on how to adjust already made clothing. My dilemma is, because of some food allergies and digestive issues I was forced to change my diet. I have since lost 40lbs and still losing. As a result the neckline and shoulders are too big. Do you have any videos or tips on how to alter them to fit appropriately? Thank you!
I am sure Glenda has videos for neck and shoulders. I measure me from center chest to arm crease. Then I measure the pattern. Same for shoulders. You still need ease of course.
Joy, forget that round neckline round face thing. Your mom was a sweet lady but she was wrong to say that. What I think about that particular top is that the high round neckline looks rather formal and the top is casual in style and the fabric. It also had some slight gapping at the shoulder which made it not lay well. The v neck looks much. I always say rip. As she sews so shall she rip!
That looks soooo much better. You're a genius girl!

Very interesting! Thanks Joy! Looks great!
Thank you for sharing your expertise! Beautiful!
You look great in a round neckline.
Thank you Deb. My Mom told me I didn't look good in pink, so she always dressed me in blue when I was a baby.
Hello Joy🤗.
God bless you🙏
Fab Joy💕
Love how you did this Joy! Thanks for sharing it. May I ask what kind of interfacing do you use?
I use Palmer and Pletsch Sheer.
@@Joy4650B thank you!

I rip it JUST IN CASE I may put it back in.
It is perfect.
Thank you Joy! By the way, you are a beautiful 72!! I would have never guessed your age!
You are super sweet Maria! The closer I get to the camera, the more my age shows. Thank you so much for the compliment.
Recently I have been wondering if I could find a narrow presser foot for my machine. There are times it would be nice. I notice many industrial machines use much more narrow feet than domestic.
Totally agree with you Carole. The feet on these fancy machines are SO WIDE!!!

My problem is most necklines are to big for me and I do look better in a smaller round one.
Joy no one Look at Peoples anymore, there always on there phone.
On top of necklines I AM DISGUSTED with necklines in clothing stores today. I don’t want everything hanging out. Aweful
Their rip it rip it lol
I have been annoyed when I hear "unpicked"to refer to ripping!
I disagree! Looks nice! Your face looks more oval than round.
