Someone said "permit yourself to be a beginner " and that resonated so much with me. Anytime I find myself hesitating because I'm scared of not doing something as perfect as my mind thinks it should be, I tell myself that
Don't they say that it is always the first step that is difficult? That said, that is easier said than done. Do you know how many rows or fall-outs you may endure when you try to "follow your dreams?" Not everyone has the courage to face them.
@@daisychain3007 I do. And man I tell you it’s hard and I wanna suicide so many times (I still do btw). An easy way to have a good day. Take the smalls wins whenever you can. I start the day waking up and that's a win. If I can put a smile on someone's face, that's a win. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed so make today a win!

The worst that may happen it's not what you dreamed of, maybe so called "failed"...but tbh, there is no such thing like "to fail". You always gained so much more experience that can be shared. :)
"what are you most of afraid of? are you afraid of making a mistake or afraid of what people might think about you? or are you more afraid that that fear might stop you from starting in the first place"
You know what I fear the most, it's not that the world would judge me - I don't care what people I don't know think... As long as my work is inspiring a few. But what keeps holding me back is that the people I know would feel bad for me because I'd not be good enough. Sometimes I wish nobody knew me. It would give me a lot more freedom.

Jake, you have the fears many of as artists have. But after 20 years of being an artist in many mediums, I have found now in my 50's that we as artists are more in touch with the fears of what others will think because we have not went deep enough into ourselves to find out what makes us burn on fire both personally and creatively. I love this quote, "Love yourself, whatever makes you different, and use it to make you stand out!" ~Ross Matthews I think there is an inspiring burning within you Jake to show the art world who you really are and do it without fear. I know you can do it because your videos have shown that you are talented and you love to help others find that passion within themselves. You talk a lot in your videos (and I have watched you since you started sharing on YT) about finding yourself as a person...I think you know what the spark is you have but in some ways you don't fan the flame deep down in your heart sometimes. You will have less fears personally and creatively if you try some newly radical things that you have been holding yourself back from trying. :-) Great videos man! (BTW, I say this to you as a working spiritual life coach and fellow artist)

Thank you for this video. ❤️ I think for me, it's because I'm such a huge perfectionist. As an artist, a language lover, and someone who wants to also travel and experience the entire world and make videos, I have so many ideas of how I want things to turn out. So many things I want to do, yet I always freeze. I can see in my mind how I want the finished product to turn out, but I can never seem to get what I create good enough. It's always lacking something and I end up being frustrated. However, something that does help me is to look back at my work, even just by a few months, and see how much I've progressed. It honestly makes me feel a hundred times better. Knowing that yes, I will one day be able to do the things that I've been dreaming of, but I can't forget to enjoy the journey and see how far I've already come. But I can't be afraid to not do them because I haven't yet "perfected" my skills (even though there is no such thing as perfection).

Just discovered your channel a few weeks ago. Absolutely love the storytelling and inspiration. Every video you create gets better and better. It's not just that the shots are sweet and you can't wait to see what the next cool shot will be … but the story and how it builds is incredible. I started in video, switched to action photography, but you've definitely inspired me to shoot more video real soon. Thanks man for the inspiration. Man I had this in my watch later playlist for God knows how long and now I've opened it searching for something else and I stumbled upon it.. it has been what I needed to hear right now, thank you so so so much!
You have no idea how it helped me, I was afraid of doing something new in my college life and instead of listening to some advice by someone else, you made me understand, realize something that... I can't put in words... Absolutely loved your art!
Your comment was spot on: "What will other people think" is exactly the reason why I've never released any of my music before. Until now. Life is too short to worry about what other people think. Be creative and share it with the world...
It's very interesting how different people are in their behavior...not only because of how we have been raised, treated at school, DNA characteristics and so on. For me, it is the opposite: I con't care what other people think and love to begin something new. It's more my problem to figure out what I like to be consistent with. I love learning, teaching others, travelling, art, building something from scratch. Therefore, I tried many things, travelled and lived in multiple countries and now figuring out how to combine all of that. And you are definitely an inspiration for so many people of how to do it right...or giving an idea. Not only with what you tell, but also just looking at your videos and analyzing-enjoying them is something that gives us a good hint of where to begin or to continue....well, or just watching them to feel good. Haha. Have a nice day! ♥
kind a magic! I just don't know how you do this but watching your videos makes me feel like every ounce of life is full of poetry. every single time, one minute after starting your video, I press pause and I write, create or paint... and then, blissfully, I watch the end of your poetry in motion. grateful thanks.
I came too your channel for the van build, but I have stayed because of content like this. But there is one one thing I have taken from you: Never be afraid to chase your dreams.
your videos do exactly what you want them to do. Inspire. You are passing it forward. Every time have a dip and can't get motivated...I watch your videos. Thank you Jake.
A vision of creation leaps into my head exactly the same way when I hear a certain track.. your channel has inspired us, and we have shared yours with others while on the road, just love your work Jake!
Jake…(oh..and team)nailed that clip at 3:46! Riding your board with water 💦 and cars buzzing by. First…takes guts to put yourself out there the way you do. 2nd, this is such perfect timing….I’ve been on the fence about picking up the RS2 and after watching this…I’m pulling the trigger. Keep doing your thing! 👍👍👍
Because of this and two others of your videos (one of them I only just got suggested, seeing you around for the first time) you are inspiring me. Since the start of this week I've just barely been doing things besides school. And now, I'm going to take my first step, and just set an alarm for a short moment before sunrise, so see the sunrise. I dont think ibe really ever seen it. Now you've inspired me to. Thank you
You're awesome! Thank you! All I have to do is: START. That's it. Just do it. Not too crazy, but try. I will tweak and improve. Thank you so much! We are often doing so much better than we think.
As they say, the fear itself is much worse than the actual thing, we'll never know what the results will be if we won't take risks. Thank you for this, it raises my confidence, you helped me. Keep on creating! ♥️
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 7 months ago about self development. Now I have 635 subs and > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
man you don't have what you did ............ you just motivated me to pass my toughest fear i.e showing work to world .thanks a ton man love your videos
I'm afraid that when I release my product, it's going to show my REAL value. And that that value may be lesser than I thought. I'm afraid that I may realize that I'm not capable to pursue X dream... because I'm too weak. A beautiful shot, you nailed it. One phrase you said has been stuck in my head: "stories are made to be shared" and that we may be able to feel inspired because somebody had overcome their fear and had put trust in themselves just enough in order to throw that thing at the damn public. And it spreads geometrically and exponentially, one person inspires another, it goes on, and hopefully we reach a better state each time. You've just inspired me to write that comment and get my brain working (English is not my native language), because I've been procrastinating and feeling mentally numb since hours. So thank you and hopefully it stays with me longer. You have also reminded me that perhaps it's worth reconsidering writing reviews, because I used to receive signals that the readers dig my stuff. PS you're so handsome!
Just discovered your channel, maybe 3-4 days ago, and I watched every single one of your videos. I'm in LOVE with them. I love everything about them: the music, the shots, the videos, the storytelling, the wisdom! Bravo! As a new RUclipsr, every one of your videos gave me a ton of inspiration. Thank YOU, Jake!

Even though we don't know each other, I've always felt like you're my friend! Thanks for sharing your journey.
That switching between In Car Audio+Video to Music+Actual Shot @3:57 is just wowwwww
I've watched this a thousand times. Thanks for putting yourself in that vulnerable state to inspire someone, same as me.
I'm still looking at the music you used in your dream shot, it was so inspiring! creativity is wonderful!!
Fricken love new Frew. Always a highlight of the day when you drop vids, dude.
I came too your channel for the van build, but I have stayed because of content like this. But there is one one thing I have taken from you: Never be afraid to chase your dreams.
I needed this video right now. Exactly how I feel at the end of today. Thanks brother. I guess I'll try it again soon.
This video had me smiling in awe from start to end. I love how you can make a whole video on one single brilliant shot. Keep inspiring us! ❤️
your videos do exactly what you want them to do.
You give the BEST life advice. Thanks for shaving your inspiration and for facing the vulnerability required to make such personal content. 🙏❤️
man you don't have what you did ............ you just motivated me to pass my toughest fear i.e showing work to world .thanks a ton man love your videos
That was a great video! and the shot was perfect! Thanks! Salutations from astonishingly sunny, cold & still locked down Ireland! ☘️☮️🤘🏽🤠👍🏽☮️☘️
why do people dislike good videos like these? they're just bitter. Awesome video man, i love your content.
....fear only gets put into perspective when you actually just get started" 👌🏿💯
Ooh, that last line really hit home
"Are you more afraid that that fear might stop you from starting in the first place"
We live in a world with beautiful creatures and places, and its slowly breaking. So don’t be scared to do what you love to change this world. Be who you are ❤️
I more afraid that fear might stop me from ever starting something that i really want create.
Thanks for the video and thanks for your words👌🏻✨
I feel like the scarier it is, the more you really need to do it. Really needed to hear this. I think I've watched this twice now.
Thank you for sharing with the world.

Procrastination kills more dreams than failure ever will.
Send my love. Keep up the good work Jake!

Everything doing first time in life is hard, difficult or feel embarrassed but only first time next time it becomes easy for you
So good! I love your transparency and vulnerability, Jake! As you can see from my channel, I definitely have been afraid of making and posting videos, but, I think what you said in this video is right. That that fear is always there. We just have to keep creating and posting! So again, THANK YOU!
Imposter syndrome is a bitch 😫 it's made my own pursuit to make videos an on-off experience for a decade now. But I think you put it perfectly at the end about which fear ultimately has more weight on you. Thanks for this!
