Awesome!! I just got a serger... I’ve been putting off wanting to buy. But, your video is impressive!! I will try it now!! I’m glad your father bought it for you!! Bravo 👏
I enjoyed your video and your skirt came out great. I have had my Brother 1034D for several years. When you serge, be sure to pull your thread tree all the way up. Then close it down when not in use. My machine won't even serge with the tree in the down position.
YES! hahaha I noticed that when I was editing, but of course didn't notice when I was in front of the machine! Thank you, I will definitely pay more attention 😊
Lol....it's just so funny how i just got mine today. And I just bumped onto your video. And I see also other good reviews. And that's why ordered it, because previously saw other videos on it. You are so funny, and humble. I always like to see other young ladies like yourself sweing or crocheting, wich I do to. And that was so sweet of your parents. what a blessing to have them . Thanks for sharing your so real video.
I just got this same serger, and like you I am also colorblind. I had to have a RUclips video playing showing me how to thread it. It took me a while but I felt a real sense of accomplishment when it was done. I also had the same problem with the looping thread too...lol. Lots of scrap fabric gave it's life that I might conquer the tension 🤣🤣
It used to take me 20 minutes to thread, now I can do it in 5 minutes or less. For some reason the short cut method of threading never worked for me. I now am brave enough to change the differential feed, length, width and mess with tension slightly. Every project makes it easier to use. I purchased the class by the Stitch Sisters, viewed a Craftsy course and referenced Tilly and the Buttons Stretch! book for tips. I also labeled the machine to remind me the order of threading. I still haven't watched the DVD it came with.
Same!! The quick method never gives me the proper stitch! I now, I think it would take me longer to do it that way! It definitely gets easier every time! I'll have to check that course out! Thank you
I just found a Brother 1034dx at Walmart!! I was so excited. I put it in lay-a-way. I can't wait to get it out. I've been watching videos about it since I found it. Great video!! I have subscribed and hit the bell, will definitely be back to see more of what you make. ☺
You’re colorblind??? It’s pretty rare in women, is it not? I hope you have access to the new color correcting glasses! I’m so excited to see how the machine works. I’m interested but they’re so intimidating if you’ve never used one!
Hi! Did you only have 3 foot included? I'm quite confused because in the manual it has 5 but I also have only 3 like yours.Thank you so much sharing this!I'm new!
Yes, it was only the three. It’s probably away for them to get you to buy the addition attachments and tell you how to use them. Some machines may come with it 🤷🏼♀️
I just pulled my new one out of the box, it just came in today! I'm so upset with myself though because when I was taking it out of the box, my right hand turned the dial on the right side for stitch length.....I don't know what number it was on!!!!!! Did it go three clicks, or just two???? oh Drats!!!! I don't know....now I'm afraid to touch it!!! LOL ~ I've used sergers before but it wasn't a brother. I came on youtube to see if I can find someone to tell me what number it was on when it came in (I was told that everything was preset and ready to go)....unless your fat fingers move the dial! I'm so glad I came across your video though, what a breath of fresh air you are! Thanks for sharing your "jumping right in on it".....I'll be waiting for more videos ~
Tell me how it goes!! I’m a newb too! We can learn together!! And 4! Turn it to 4to start! But now that I’ve been using it, my dials always change! I may try to see if i can take a course but with this pandemic-looks like I’m on my own! So I would love to learn together!
I will be watching this on Tuesday, and following along with you. I’m glad I found your channel. I have had mine for 6 months now and haven’t touched it. I will on Tuesday 😊
Hi there, thanks for this video. I just got one of these and can't wait to try it out. Did yours come with an instructional DVD? If so, which file do you click on? There are 10 files in the "Video" folder in the DVD. Six of them are VOB files, two IFOs, and two BUPs, but none of them will pay. Any advice? I'm a complete newbie with these and was hoping to watch carefully. : ) Thanks!
Hi can you make a video on how to embroider with this machine please please please i don't want to return it to the store with covid going on but I can't seem to get a satin stitch or other things and I'm just really confused.
Ooooh ok thank you so so much when I was reading the box it said it was able to and I was getting completely annoyed and confused. I will be getting a different machine layer today then :)
One thing you might want to do before you keep serging is oil your machine! Everything I read said you NEED to do it first thing. Unfortunately they don’t tell you that until you get to the page....
Anyone know how to get a seam allowance? I want to hem a T-shirt the way you usually see them, with about a 1/2" space between the bottom of the fabric and the stitching. For the life of me I can't figure this out. I have disengaged the knife to do this. On the 1034d, there's a space to slide over the fabric under the seam allowance marker, but not on the dx.
Thank you for posting this! I'm adding this serger to my wish list! Did you list the name and number of the skirt pattern? I love it and its very flattering on you. If you said it and I missed it my apologies, but if not, could you post it? Thank you so much, I'm enjoying your videos.
I bought one.....LOVE IT!!!!! I've repaired all the frayed edges of my old terry cloth towels, works great!!!😁
"Oh my God, I have not had you for so long" lol, I felt that. Mine is coming in 2 days. CANT WAIT
It’s so fun!
Awesome!!

@Janice what is the difference between your 1034D and the 1034DX? Thanks in advance
Oh that Pumpkin spice tea looks so good!!

Candle has me worried…lol but Ty for helping
Great video, I thoroughly enjoyed your humor in your humility 👍
Wow! Thank you! That’s very nice to say 😊
I just love mine I've been sewing for years l wish I have gotten one in my younger years.
It used to take me 20 minutes to thread, now I can do it in 5 minutes or less. For some reason the short cut method of threading never worked for me. Nice video, thanks for sharing your experience with the serger! And beautiful skirt! 😄

I just got one a couple of months ago and, like yours, it had only three presser feet. Feeling a little bit ripped off at the moment.
I love the shoes! Where did you find them?
Should I buy / use serger thread instead of what came in the box?
YES......Buy the big spools of serger thread, the small spools that came with your machine are just small samples and won't last very long.
I just bought one, thank you for sharing this video
Have fun!!

It's on three. (I just unboxed mine the other day) Any numbers highlighted in black are the numbers it was set to. :)
I will be watching this on Tuesday, and following along with you. I’m glad I found your channel. I have had mine for 6 months now and haven’t touched it. I will on Tuesday 😊
Do it!! Honestly, it’s a game changer! I use mine for every project!
I'm getting to know my own 1034DX Serger too!
Do you happen to know if the 1034D feet are interchangeable with the 1034DX?

Hi! It did come with a DVD, but I have to admit I didn’t even try to watch it! I only read the manual and made the skirt! I never used one either!
I have huge difficulties with my machine 😭 I hope I can get the hang of it
Oh no!! I hope you can figure it out! I love mine, although I’m probably not using it to its full potential
i LOVE your cup!!!! can you possibly link it? 😍
It was on amazon a few years ago! Probably still there or on Etsy. It was called Harry Potter changing mug or morphing mug?
I brought one to make swimwear and brought the elastic foot but it doesn’t fit somehow
Hi can you make a video on how to embroider with this machine please please please i don't want to return it to the store with covid going on but I can't seem to get a satin stitch or other things and I'm just really confused.
This is a serger? I don’t believe this machine embroiders? It’s meant for finishing seams - you can gather with it as well
Ooooh ok thank you so so much when I was reading the box it said it was able to and I was getting completely annoyed and confused. I will be getting a different machine layer today then :)
You have a zipper on your tablecloth??
Great video!!!! Great music too ☺️ you got my subscription
Yay!! Thank you so much 🥰🥰
I got the 1034dx serger too. I am still learning though.
Good luck! So am I! Need lots of practice, I can almost rethread it without looking at the manual 😂
One thing you might want to do before you keep serging is oil your machine! Everything I read said you NEED to do it first thing. Unfortunately they don’t tell you that until you get to the page....
The second to last page.
Yes! I did read that... have to get some oil .. any particular you suggest?
Did you oil it before the first time using it?
Yes! Just wasn’t in the video
You need a cover stich machine for that.
This one vs Singer Heavy Duty? pls help me
Hi! I’m sorry, I’ve only ever used this machine! But after reading the reviews and buying the brother myself- I can say I’m super happy!
I have the same serger, Brother 1034DX.
I like it so much!
Thank you for posting this! I'm adding this serger to my wish list! Did you list the name and number of the skirt pattern? I love it and its very flattering on you. If you said it and I missed it my apologies, but if not, could you post it? Thank you so much, I'm enjoying your videos.
Sorry, for taking so long to answer! I had to look through my patterns to remember! Is Vogue 9880, but any half-circle skirt will do!
@@whatssewingon3511 Thank you so much!
