You should know that most of us who are fans of Vintage Singers need to know what the serial number is in the VERY FIRST frame of the video. You DON'T put power to the machine before you OIL IT and CHANGE the needle. Yes, I am capslock shouting. Also, use different colour threads so you can tell which tension needs adjustment.

One machine does lead to another, and another.... I have quite a collection (actually I horde them) of old treadle, hand crank and electric models. I enjoy piecing quilt tops with them and demonstrate in our Pioneer Village Museum of historic buildings. I've pieced an entire full size quilt top with a 1923 Singer hand cranked model 99 and loved the control I had with that machine. The only thing I changed was to substitute a presser foot from a newer machine that has a hinged ankle to make crossing seams easier. I'm currently working on a quilt top with a treadle Singer model 27. I have a model 28 with "vintage" decals but they are considerably more worn than yours. It was probably originally a hand cranked machine but has had an electric motor added. Hope you get as much enjoyment out of your machines as I get with mine.😊

Do you have a manual for it? Needle placement can sometimes be a prob. The worst case scenario ..is a timing issue....Needle flat side on some machine goes to toward right ..others to the left. You can get repro's of the manual...

I agree put stuff back where you got it from. That is so tacky when people just put stuff they don’t want in place it doesn’t belong. It would be better if they just left in the cart and gave back to the cashier so they can put it in their sorting carts if the are to lazy or don’t remember where they got it from.

It’s May 2024 and I just joined the Regency Society, so I’m in the process of finding the right kind of fabrics to use the patterns I already bought. So exciting! BTW, I love your pup and I hope you are both doing well these days.

I don’t like Value Village. They get everything donated, they do very little for charities and their prices are ridiculously expensive. Please consider donating to a truly worthy thrift store and shop at those as well.

I'm one who goes to the jewelry 1st, books & magazines, crafting/fabric, kitchen/household, then shoes/clothes/purses. I find so much awesome stuff that way for my interests. Best fabric buy ever was medium-weight & medium blue chambray (full bolt) for $7 on 50% off sale. Sat there for over a month before I finally grabbed it! Best jewelry ever was a Larimar pendant for $5 at 50% off. Looked up brand & an exact copy of it was $250!!!! Don't ever feel you are robbing them. Prices keep going up & sales get smaller & less frequent. Meanwhile, if you don't carefully watch the cashier/check your receipt they charge you for stuff you didn't buy or get. Last 2 times @ Salvation Army they charged me for $5 & $7 of unbought items. I think once I fill my Shoppers Card, I'm no longer going there. Used to love them & their sales. No longer!!!
