Its had 4 clusters put in, 3 trunk latches, 4 times the trunk has been adjusted still doesnt close without rubbing, 2 mass air flow sensors, 3 different ecu update attempts to fix engine drivability/trans issues and random stalling, both front seat leather came untucked, driver seat creaks like a rocking chair and today dealer told me they dont cover squeaks yet they have been working on it plenty of times prior. Car only has 6k miles on it.

Fantastic review. My wife actually just picked one up 2 weeks ago (2020 manual in Purple). Car is PHENOMENAL!! This has it over the Cayman GT4 by leaps and bounds! It is SO SO SO MUCH FUN!! I want my own now! 😉

I was thinking of this too but I want to wait till they bring out bespoke colors as I really want a "Gulf Racing" colorway (light blue with orange accents) in a V6 model with upgraded performance (I can't believe they wouldn't release a "S" or "GT" Emira equivalent before the stop making the V6 model. @@Driven-Productions I think the Emira will be heavier and not like the Evora GT in performance and handling. IMO Emira looks exotic but that will be it. It is a car for the "masses" with "comforts" an easier to drive which equals semi boring.
@@moimoi4725 we will just have to see. I know the power of that V6 so it’s not going to be the fastest car, but maybe they dial up the boost a bit and get it closer to 440 horses.
I would say yes, it is fast enough to get you in trouble; but the distinction from the competition is that you feel the speed. No, it doesn't have the low end torque of my M3 but it can carry more speed in a corner. in a numb benz or audi you would blindly roll into a turn without realizing your going too fast until your understeering right into the ditch.

Problem with the track is until Superspeedway gets going again the closest one is Bowling Green. That involves a truck and trailer, since I can’t put many miles on someone else’s vehicles. But I do vision one day soon one or two track shoots a quarter.
I put a $2.5k deposit down on a grey on red six speed. Tanner said I am the sixth one in the area to have one. Really hoping I can get moved up so I can be one of the first to drop owner content.
I also kinda disagree about it not "keeping up with the pack". Depends on what pack you're hanging out with. Especially dollar to performance ratio, this is definitely top of it's league. Maybe if you're trying to mess with Mclarens or GT3rs's then yea, it'll be harder. I think I'd ideally want a 460 komotec kit to complete and give it that last edge in power though.
Yeah some of the guys I’ve rolled with recently this would struggle to keep up but you could. They drive R8, 720S, Huracan EVO, GT3RS, etc. My Vanquish can’t keep up sometimes nor do I even try.
Interesting feedback. I canceled my Emira recently, just came way too late and was concerned with quality control issues. In the short test drive I had in Jan - several issues namely bad rattle from the front passenger side.
@@Driven-Productions I also had given a deposit to purchase an Emira as I was caught up in the hype. Now I'm pursuing legal action to get it back. (Lotus of Jacksonville) I wouldn't see the car till 2024 and I thought it would be refundable if I hadn't completed ordering it which I never did.
@@Docinaplane Carlock was nice to work with. After the demo I wanted it sport suspension, and they refused. Offered to let me have it back. Honestly they won’t have any trouble selling my spec.

FYI, I talked to the head of Lotus America, and he notified them to return my deposit. The head of the dealership said to me, "I don't give a damn what Lotus thinks, we are an independent dealership." (World Imports or Lotus of Jacksonville) I wish I could get in touch with other people (over 50) who have given deposits to this dealership for the Emira as I'm sure some of them have changed their mind also as none of these cars have been built yet.
This year I’m loaning money from the bank towards a lotus emira! It’s worth every penny! Can’t wait! 19 in 1 month gotta work up my credit then by December a lotus is arriving!
@@Driven-Productions I own a manual 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer se limited fwd 2.0L i4 it’s not fast at all only at 170hp but it feels good, I’ve always wanted a lotus, when the emira arrives it would feel amazing I bet! It’ll be my first car over $20k and my first exotic as well! I honestly can’t wait I love lotus! Aston Martin I love as well the gorgeous v12 manual cars I wish to own just cost too much the most I can afford at 19 by bank loan is a lotus, Ariel atom, and the CTS-5 I think it is by Cadillac or any car under $140,000 Canadian. But to me the best option under $140,000 canadian is the lotus emira and I can’t wait for that!

Hey Brian thanks for the comment. You probably can’t see the red buttons for sport and exhaust engaged, but drove the entire POV drive in sport/exhaust on. Otherwise this car is quite quiet, it really opens it up. Race does even more, but disables traction control so kept that mode off.
Great video but you keep repeating yourself on most of your points about the car. Maybe talk through the driving a bit more once you’ve made those points and describe how it’s feels, the grip, the linear power delivery whilst showing us those great roads (which I’m very jealous of!)
I have an order for a Grey on Red Emira 6-Speed, so we’ll see how good it is. The ZL1 1LE is a totally different beast - faster, American, and very fast. I found it too much for the street, very easy to get in trouble with the law. I would say the Emira or the GT4/Spyder, that’s the comparison. Porsche is on top of their game so Lotus better nail it.
It’s not fast either these days. The car could use a few more horses to keep up with the competition. I hope the Emira is closer to 440 horses when released.
I love the looks and handling but a Cayman just blows it out of the water. The Evora just felt slow all the time when I drove imo. I ended up beating the shit out of it trying to extract something close to fun acceleration. I like effortless acceleration that you don't feel like you have to hammer all the time like the Evora. I was told there are no mods out there for it and that put the nail in it's coffin for me. A 718 Cayman S or GTS with an APR tune is an absolute gem and the Evora can't come close.
0-100 in 9.5-10 slow to you. You have crazy standards. I remember some video complaining you have to rev the Vanquish though it has 350 lbs foot of torque at 1500 rpm. You must have the naturally Aspirated Evora in its comfort mode.
@@adampetten5349 I do have crazy standards and 9.5-10 seconds to 100 is slow to me. I honestly don't understand it as it felt like the chassis could handle much more. The Corvette C8 mid engine does 0-100 in 7.1 seconds. With the light platform the Lotus should be close imo. btw I drove a 2020 turbocharged manual.
@@sufficetosay The C8 does 0-30 in 1 second. It's much torqier. It has a dual clutch. The difference between a manual and pdk GT3 is staggering. Some rwd cars have uncanny grip like the 812 and 720s. Others spin away like the DBS and F12. Even with ZF 8 speed the DBS takes 2 seconds 0-30. 30-60 takes 1.5!

With a blower I would have thought that it would be a torque monster. I am familiar with the PDK having owned several 911's and it is awesome. That's why I purchased my GT500 which was cheaper with a dual clutch than the Evora in a manual and a hoot to drive.
Having driven both transmissions the 6 speed is definitely the way to go as it completes the connection between car and driver. That said, the automatic trans is definitely no slouch, and in sport or race mode, the car actually auto rev matches when slowing down and it up shifts very quick for a torque converter automatic. And that extra 25 or so torque definitely helps that as well
They actually did more than just add 18hp. They changes the seating position and driving angle. They added more aero vents for releasing positive pressure in the wheel arches to keep the car more planted, and they improved the super charger compared to the early model 400s and Evora s. Better driving and handling car than the 400
If you don't want to stand out from the crowd, sure but the Cayman. But if you want to be different, and if you "get" cars like this, you buy the Lotus. I'd take this everyday over a GT4.
Think so? 416 hp and 3,100 pounds not enough ha. I don’t know I think opening up the exhaust, intake and a tune is all she would need to get it dialed in. I personally like that you can smash the throttle out of turns and have complete balance and control. You do have to keep the momentum and revs up though to maintain the speed, and that takes some skill.
There's plenty of straight line cars. For how well this thing handles, you can't even go WoT most of the time on twisties for how hard you're already turning or braking in, and it's on the edge of traction WoT leaving exits. It's plenty perfect classic track and twisty driving. I happily paid a lot more than 104 for mine with the other add-ons. There's 911 that are no "faster" running build prices at 140, 150k and nobody blinks an eye.

I have a 2020 Evora GT in Fire Red. Fabulous! I test drove an Emira, then bought the GT. Much better performance everywhere.

You never used sport or race mode. Race mode mostly un needed for street but sport is grand with the exhaust opened up and better throttle input.

There is a new lotus, the emira, coming soon. The question is would you get that, this evora GT, or the ZL1 LE as a summer car.

My buddy could do 100 mph in a stock 2.0 Genesis on the onramp. Not even a 3.8. This is way faster than either Hyundai.
Well a used ZO6 is for you in price range. ZL1 too. 660 bhp previous generation GT500 is interesting with solid rear axle and skinny tyres lol.
